Haven't been since 2016 but it looks like The Warf stage is taking artists that would usually play the Float Den?
Yeah. As per somewhere on the last page, barges crashed into the wharf/docs there last May and damaged the bulkhead and also the float den itself. Lots of whining on social media but it has to be fixed from the bottom up. My theory is the capacity is less for this year because of that damage so they had to move sets that would traditionally have been there to a different area. Also the back alley which was VIP area last year is closed off because of the damage. Looks like maybe Wharf will have more room anyway. It won’t be so hot in there if it’s a hot Buku because it will be outside along the river. Hopefully that will minimize anyone falling out due to rolling and the heat.
Also Death Grips, Denzel Curry, Playboi Carti, Rico Nasty....I'm not going to survive the Ballroom
And yeah. That’s a good fucking stage day. Friday Balllroom andSaturday Powerplant look like the best 2 overall stage days. I’ll be everywhere but I’ll definitely be spending a lot of Friday in the Ballroom.

Oh shit you're in on this? We've been at enough of the same shows that we should get a beer
Me, you, Todd, Damoss, Fridhakalo and Pinksocking for sure. Krisp said he was going but I think he’s out. VC is a maybe, but her man will probably be working it. Idk if anyone else will be there from on here. Maybe zac?
Random thoughts: - Moved Excision up since he said his Buku & Houston sets were 5-6 hours apart. Gives him plenty of time to get down there - The Float Den is ending with house two nights in a row, because I said it can - Saturday Float Den tried to have it go the smaller rap acts -> weird bass -> house, Tristan Dufrene is out of place in that order but didn't see him going after G Jones - Switched Griz and Rocky on Saturday, Griz having a sunset set made more sense to me and made it possible to avoid rap conflicts with the bigger names - I'm annoyed about Dog Blood vs. $uicideboy$ but it seems realistic and moving either of them around makes it worse
And there we go. 3 weeks can't come soon enough. If this was the schedule:
Friday: Rico Nasty -> 1788-L -> Sunsquabi -> Excision -> Yves Tumor -> Kevin Gates -> Death Grips -> a short bit of Lana -> Denzel Curry -> Claude/Playboi Carti split
Saturday: Earl Sweatshirt -> JID -> Earthgang -> end of Griz -> Tristan Dufrene but probably more posting up for -> A$AP Rocky -> Dog Blood/$uicideboy$ split -> The Black Madonna -> Yaeji
I think you are close on the order of Power Plant, Ballroom and Wharf. Float Den looks good but could go differently in the middle. Who knows about Switch or VIP?
Saturday PP looks right. I think they’ll put Tristan on earlier and maybe Unicorn Fukr. Ballroom looks good but it could go any way. Wharf looks about right too.
On this schedule, I see Iceman Special, Rico Nasty, toro y moi, Sunsquabi, Excision, Yves Tumor, Kevin Gates, Death Grips, Denzel Curry, Kidswaste, RL/Carti
Saturday would be Thou, Earl Sweatshirt, J.I.D/Peekaboo (tough one for me because I want to see both), GRiZ, Liquid Stranger, Rocky, Jantsen, G Jones, Dog Blood/PapaD, Black Madona, Yaeji and/or Ella Mai

This is like a perfect schedule for me. Hope nothing is too different
Haha. I haven’t gotten notification of shipping yet. :/
Y’all figure out some of the shit you’re doing around the not at festival times besides Friday late? Lined up some restaurants or lists of quality bars? I’d say that everyone I talk to is pretty excited for Buku. There’s so much shit to see and lots of it wild, that I think people are pretty geeked. I’m actually more so looking forward to Buku than Mardi Gras. I was in the FQ today though and told this guy who was costumed as a prison bitch (orange jumpsuit and sign) to drop the soap. He was dying. But that’s the thing about costumes and getting some recognition. I wouldn’t personally be a prison bitch because I feel like I’d be getting pluked in the ass by people. Haha. Regardless, I’m more in on Buku. I’m excited that we are down to 3 weeks and also that the schedule is coming out next week. I’m going to try to see at least as many pieces parts of sets that I can without compromising on shit I really need to see that’s at the top of my list.
Ima finalize shit after the schedule comes out and they release the rest of the night shows. I’m still about Lords if Acid, Genetorturers and Orgy on Thursday unless Buku brings an official preparty show id rather see. For now it’s the schedule I posted earlier and From First to Last/Eno (autocorrect win \m/ ) night Friday and then Wakaan Takeover Saturday all subject to change. 3 weeks out Top 10 anticipated fest sets without looking at my earlier one:
Excision, A$AP Rocky, Kevin Gates, Denzel Curry, Death Grips, Dog Blood (to see it and decide more if I like it), Liquid Stranger, Peekaboo, GRiZ*, J.I.D/Sunsquabi.
* here’s hoping that griz’s upcoming album is better than the first two songs he released. Again, i understand they are meant to be played/mixed live, but they were contrived. The most recent gun message song with Matisyahu was better. But it still felt too produced. Could be underrating or overrating. You don’t know what you’re going to get with GRiZ especially here. So ?
Hector Salamanca I dig this schedule 100x more than the other one. Hoping the real one is close. I've never seen Excision while the sun's still out so that should be interesting

Glad you and I got it right and you got your wish that Excision and Lana wouldn’t conflict. The only knock I have on the new powerplant stage is the limestone rocks. I wear Converses, and the soles aren’t good for dancing and standing amongst them. I guess also it was better along the river because it was along the river, and you can’t replace that (except putting another stage there). Otherwise it should be great. We will find out next week if the time Hector guessed for Excision is right. If so, it will be sunset here. Best recent prior sunset Buku sets were STS9 and Tycho. Obviously those are completely different. But Excision at sunset should be great.
Also Travis from FFTL said they’ll be doing a Riddim set at Buku. Highest vote total was for FFTL remixes only (32%), but Riddim got 28%.
This is the last god damn edit I'm making to this thing. Wouldn't surprise me to see Lana and Kevin Gates get switched though to try and eliminate some of the later conflicts that Lana closing the Power Plant could cause.
Nice. Got the old lady to capitulate? I’ll probably see you there if I’m still standing at midnight. Speaking of which, 2-12 is the same amount of time (10 hours) just moved up an hour. That makes sense and makes it easier to get to aftershows. And speaking of those, they are teasing another announcement with Patrick rubbing his hands together. That’s got to be for a new pre or after party if not the actual schedule tomorrow. I figured they would drop the schedule on Friday, but? ? ?
That’s not bad. I haven’t listened to Crenshaw’s new mixtape yet nor the work he did with Eprom. I think I’ve only ever seen him as Claude. We caught Bawldy the other night before Downlink, and it was good enough.
Also:
PS: In an extra effort to make sure you, the BUKREWE, don’t get shut out of #BUKU2019, we are letting y'all know a few days before we announce a low ticket warning to the general public. Passes are pacing to sell out in about a week & we hope to see y'all there!
Schedule is out tomorrow, and they have issued a low ticket alert being on pace to sell out next week.
Expect 1 pre-party show announcement and then 1 or 2 more aftershows to come out between this weekend and next weekend. Other than that, it's fill in the blanks on food, schedule, etc.
Air B&B warehouse district, French Quarter, Irish Channel or garden district would be your best bets if you plan to Uber or Bike Share. Warehouse is best if you can find a deal because you can even walk (or CBD). If you find something you like the price post it or PM me and I’ll tell you if it’s somewhere you want to be. Also any of the warehouse district or CBD boutique hotels are badass if you can find a good price.

Just curious, is the bike share program one of the ones where the bikes are just parked everywhere and you can scan with your phone and ride or are they the ones with the docking station? Seems like a fun way to get to the fest.

They are the ones with docking stations. You don't necessarily have to return them to one provided you clock out as they will only upcharge you like a dollar or so.
