I’m kinda surprised people are so fired up for this fest in general.
To give a honest answer, it might just be fatigue due to so many line-ups being dissapointing to the folks here. Seeing a line up that is very genre cohesive is refreshing. Would this work over the course of a 3 day festival? Im not so sure. I guess the best comparison to and arguement for that would be Shaky Knees.

A more realistic assessment is that most people on here are festival veterans and remember what lineups used to look like.. and this lineup reminds them of golden years of fests past. Not like today when Panic! At The Disco and The Lumineers are large festival headliners.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
Nearly every act on this lineup defined my high school years, and despite my best efforts, I still haven’t been able to see a majority of the lineup before. So I’m pretty excited to have this opportunity.

Damn this looks so great. I read Meet Me in the Bathroom like a month ago which reminded me how much I miss The Rapture. I thought they were done forever. This is fuggin great news.
Also, I paused my Spotify like an hour ago because a hobo at the library was ranting to himself about the FBI and I wanted to listen in. After reading this thread I went back to my music and it was on a Rapture song.

This lineup has many bands I like, and The Rapture being on it is legitimately great, but the reason people like this is because these were their formative bands, not because they're Objectively Better than the cream of the crop now.

I get the excitement around the lineup but I’m also feeling sort of eh about it. I feel like I’ve seen Phoenix, MGMT, Beach House and Grizzly Bear enough in the past few years that I don’t feel the need to go out of my way to see them again. Undercard is a bunch of bands that I probably downloaded a free mp3 of from some random blog and forgot about.
On the other hand, for $100 this is a damn steal. Also The Rapture. I’d go if I lived nearby.

There are definitely a couple acts on this that ellicit some eye rolls (Miike Snow has the most surprising poster placement to me, and they're not even very good live), but Beach House is the only one I've seen a lot in the last few years, and that's largely cause they might be the only name on this poster that's gotten both bigger and better since 2009/2010. As someone who goes to a few major festivals each year, I'm surprised I haven't seen Phoenix since 2010, since they're a pretty regular touring machine.
I've also seen quite a few people who don't normally get excited about recent music festivals hype this up. This might surprise people with how quickly it sells. Or it could totally bomb, what do I know.

I think it will sell well, it’s the right price and probably the perfect size for a fest like this. It makes me really nostalgic for Lolla 2010 which was my first fest. Its just a bit too top heavy for my taste.
The only band I probably wouldn't see is tennis. I'm also a little burned out on Phoenix but I'd still go
To me this makes less sense than Tennis being someone's favorite band. What's so offensive about Tennis that they would be the only band on a lineup that you would skip?
Like 6-8 of these acts have been “one of my favorite bands” at one time or another. Even if some of their live shows might have diminished or fizzled out, it’s a steal to catch them all here grouped together for 100 bucks in 2019. Hopefully this returns with another inception with like Cut Copy and shit.

Agree to disagree. IMO these bands are objectively better than commercial music today, without question; and I've seen the top 6 acts listed on this lineup, a few of them more than once, and they are phenomenal performers.. As long as music performance, and not EDM or a rapper-and-DJ combo, is your thing, that is. Rappers with a live band though are incredible, as can be witnessed by Childish Gambino and Kendrick.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb

You seem to not understand what “objectively” means.
Yeah, it means factual. I stand by what I said. I only offered the IMO to be polite.
If you want to be real, there's no objective statements that can be made about Music, or any art, because it's all opinion based. So the word objectively should have never been used to analyze the merits of any lineup, or artist thereof, in the first place, if you want to be technical..

I don’t know, I think you can say, objectively, that “old music is objectively better than new music” is the lamest fucking argument a person can make. IMO.
I also happen to think that “old stuff is better than new stuff” and general nostalgia for the misremembered past is one of the most damaging myths in American culture, but we’re kinda getting off topic.
Wake me up when one of your favorite bands makes a song that rips as hard as Sicko Mode, brah.
Wow dude, hahahah. Ok, so Sicko Mode is your high bar for music? You should have lead with that, I would have never bothered wasting my time debating you in the first place.
Also, you're wrong, the lamest argument a person can make about music is "I've never heard of that artist, they must not be any good".. I hear that from Travis Scott and Post Malone fans a lot.

I don’t have to listen to their music to know that a band that named themselves after the capital of Arizona has to be lame. That’s an objective fact.
They based their name on a mythological bird that dies from immolation and rises from the ashes.. which is where the city of Phoenix, AZ got its name from.. there's nothing objective about what you just said. Also, I've seen Phoenix twice, and they are truly an incredible live band.

What a well rounded argument from you, as always. Here's an objective fact: Anyone who needs a rollercoaster to make their live show interesting is obviously not worth seeing.

Dude, what you’re missing here is that I’ve also seen all these bands. I like most of them. Ive seen almost all of them. I’ve apparently seen Phoenix more times than you have, in fact.
I 100% get the appeal of this fest and if it was in my town I’d be interested for $100. My original comment was more directed at the people talking about flying in for this fest, which is a little weird to me. Only a few of these bands are still making compelling music at this point, and I feel like if you’re old enough to care about these bands, and care enough about live to fly places to see it, you’ve probably seen most of these bands in their prime. Maybe I’m all wrong, but that’s what I was surprised about.
But then you started in with your “old music is objectively better than the shit kids listen to” old man takes and I felt honor bound to troll you.

I would like to note that you are arguing with someone named after a sandwich about the merits of name origins.

Throw in The Presets, Cut Copy and The Strokes and this entire line up is my college playlist. Really considering picking up a ticket and figuring out everything else later.
