yeah sunday is pretty weak, but should still have huge attendance just for Post Malone. might have been strategic scheduling.
I'm basically fucked because I have almost no interest in anything that day beyond Opiuo who I have seen already. $433.33 for Opiuo who you can see for $20.00 when he rolls through town.
I wrote to C3 and told them I spend a lot of money to attend and haven't missed a day since Sunday 2010 (other than the rainout day Sunday 2015). A Top 10 of Post Malone, REZZ, Bring Me the Horizon, Sheck Wes, Hippo Campus, Big Wild, Opiuo, Missio, DaniLeigh and Temples doesn't have much cross appeal nor enough specific appeal to anyone who knows anything. It doesn't appeal to any of my kids (all in their 20's, they also like Opiuo and one is a Big Wild fan), and certainly has no appeal to me. I'm okay with a couple of the acts, but I would stay home if they were headlining a local show (besides Opiuo).
So this is a big financial loss when compared to value. If there aren't any adds to come, this will assuredly be the last time I ever buy Platinum before the days are filled. It sucks too, because I have way more fun at Voodoo than Bonnaroo, ACL or any of the travel festivals we go to.

your platinum buying power is gonna singlehandedly get Bassnectar moved to Sunday for us :bigbow: :clapyell: #wealth

I wrote them whatever year it was that I had the hissy fit about the presale, LOA prices and lineup thin-out and got nothing, but I am pretty sure that I am on a list for being an antagonist. I hope that they get back to you.
They did, but even though I had hoped for something more detailed, Grace at least got back with me:
Hey Esteban, Thanks for reaching out. Your comments and feedback are a very valuable part of our planning for Voodoo 2019 and will be seriously taken into consideration. Thank you again for taking the time to write us, for being a part of Voodoo 2019, and providing us with valuable feedback.
But the planning's been done. They went teenager for Sunday which is fucked. Even though Buku is primarily aimed at younger people, it would never be this weak on a given day. I'm guessing that some of these acts must have cost a lot of money. I don't know.

Before this schedule was thinking about doing a one day for Sunday but was hoping for atleast beck and The national that day guess I’ll be missing this one all together this year. Y’all enjoy and have fun still!

Sunday is almost worse than the year Sunday rained out. I rarely bag on Voodoo, but it’s like they segmented that day for the subsegment of 25 and under who don’t know shit yet about music. They never segmented by age before, and rest assured I will not buy high level tickets again without seeing by days or unless I like all 3 hl’s.

Woah woah woah. Pretty sure the top line that Sunday was:
Deadmau5 - Zach Brown Band - Chance the Rapper - Eric Prydz

I guess that isn't for everyone.
Fishbone was on there and one or two other things I wanted to see. Though it was my least favorite of the 3 days that year, I didn't mean it to come across like that. I meant worst day since there was a rainout and I couldn't go. Sorry if that was unclear.

Oh ok lol I was going to say I couldn't see that day being the 2nd worst ever at Voodoo.
Does anyone know how close the Elevated viewing decks are to the stage? Thinking about getting VIP for Sunday.
i'd be interested in an answer to this. i haven't done VIP since they moved the main stage. but i can tell you this: the problem with the elevated viewing platforms in the past is they are flat. So you got a spot on the rail of the platform it was great, anywhere but the rail not so great since somebody's head is in your way. which is why i've just done GA since they started giving the pits to platinum.

I could be wrong, but I don't think any stages beyond Altar have elevated decks (maybe they do?). The one for Altar stage if you're facing the stage is to the left. It's a bit offset from the front as it's in an area in front of the Platinum main hangout area. Below is last year's map. I think the Altar elevated deck is approximately between the 2nd and 4th tree that shows up on the perimeter of the GA area. Also, it's first come first serve, so if people are Nazi-ing it all day, then you kind of have to work your way in there.

I believe this is correct based on last 2 years. VIP and PLAT have decks along that left side, and they are first come - first has a place to see. They are pretty big if memory is correct, lots of folks up there.
In a related issue, booked my flight for my ACL trip and as I look at their damn fine schedule, I can't help but wonder if they'll ever do that to Voodoo. Take it bigger - dual headliners, 7 stages, really blow the thing up. They'd have to raise the price - ACL is way more costly than Voodoo - but you get what you pay for. The NOLA folks may revolt, but even JF is $210+ for GA if you want to go all 3 days on a wknd.

Saws Smashing pumpkins last night and it seems like they would have been a perfect headliner for this. They played a great 1hr 40-2hr set with all the hits and some good dep cuts. Their stage setup was so cool. They had 3 40' inflatable Russian babushka dolls that lit up with different lighting setups. Would have been perfect for a Halloween show. V spooky
I want to be way more into Voodoo than I am. It’s pissing me off because it is easily my favorite festival that I go to every year. But that Sunday is mostly a bomb for me and is making me settle for either leaving early and losing a couple hundred bucks or having to see Rezz again or Post Malone who I don’t really care about. I want to end it off with something big which I’m clearly not going to get. I bitched to C3 and will not buy Platinum on the presale again, since I no longer trust the booking.
On the flip side, I dig Saturday and I’m probably okay with Friday. Hard to say what they’re going to with Friday. Guns N Roses closes altar (90 minutes or 2 hours only is most likely). Maybe Interpol is on before them else they’d be opposed to Brandi on one of the side stages. So GNR goes up against Big G? Snails? It’s possible if Brandi v Interpol is the schedule that Moon Taxi would get preheadlining spot. I like them 2 before HL better, but they could be vs Brandi as well. I’d probably spllt the sets. Other shit on Friday I’m looking at is Ducky Live, maybe some of Cray, Templo, maybe Grandson and Dr Fresch. I gotta dig more into some of the low card still.
Saturday will be Beck vs Bassnectar to close out. I’ll likely be at Bassnectar, but I do like Beck live at a festival. So I could split that up some. National should preheadline for Beck. Young the Giant and possibly Zhu or Clairo would be between HL and preHL Besides The National and Bassnectar, I’ll be looking to see Brutus*, Denzel Curry, Iglooghost, and maybe Flamingosis, Medasin and Japanese Breakfast. * Brutus will hopefully also get a second set at the Toyota Tent.
Sunday doesn’t have much for me. Opiuo is fine. Maybe Sheck Wes or BMTH will surprise me Willaris K is okay but not sure when he fits in on Le Plur. I don’t know Ghost of Paul Revere (only know of them) so if they are good that’s a plus. It’s not otherwise a day I would go. And I never said that about Voodoo.

I have to agree on Sunday - not a great day. Can't say I really need (or want) to see Post again, so that day is iffy. But beyond that, Fri and Sat have a lot I do want to see so 2 out of 3 days is for sure. They do always seem to hit one artist right before they take off (ie Lizzo last year) and looks to me that could be Clairo for this year. Not my personal favorite, but I can't read about music without something about her popping up.
yeah i'm not super pumped either. it's always a fun weekend though. saturday's lineup is good but clearly there will be numerous conflicts that will reduce it's overall value. if there was a magic world where i could see Beck, Bassnectar, The National, and Zhu that'd be pretty good, but i'm sure there will be conflicts there. i've never seen Beck and have been a fan since Mellow Gold, but I think I'd have more fun at Bassnectar so that is tricky. The National is an easy pick for me over Zhu, but I know I won't be able to top my experience being in the pit for The National at Bonnaroo.
GNR will be fun Friday, but I'd love to be able to catch both Brandi Carlile and Interpol as well.
also my wife is over voodoo and won't be going, which sucks. but i get it, given scheduling and crowding issues last year (manson at that small stage was disappointing for our group).
brandi carlile and interpol don't conflict, which is great. interpol is at the manson stage though, hope it isn't too crowded.
interesting scheduling on saturday: the national on main before beck which is great, and then zhu on wisner opposing glitch mob on le plur. clairo is on the "good" small stage, so between her and zhu i'll go to whichever crowd is better. bassnectar vs beck as expected, will be a gametime decision.
Maybe not the absolute worst, but it's terrible for me. I'm sure the post millennials who dig Rezz and Post Malone are probably having conniption fits. Not me. I'm seriously hoping we can go back to 2015 and have a massive, 4 inches rain night on Saturday and I'll be able to get 1/3 of my money back for Sunday. As it is, I'd probably be wishing Live Oak, Florida wasn't a 7 hour drive so that I could go there Sunday morning and catch Sunday of Hulaween. :/
I don't know enough of the undercard yet to make a call on some of that shit, so I'll have to fill in my days. What I have as of now:
Friday - C+ 2:30 - Templo 3:30 - Ducky Live (or Still Woozy or Grandson) 4:00 - Moon Taxi 5:00 - Cray 5:45 - Dr. Fresch maybe? 6:00 - Brandi Carlile 7:00 - Peekaboo (maybe some Interpol but I'm not that big on them) 8:00 - GnR <-- Literally can't believe they gave them 3 hours. They fucked us on FF in 2017 with the 90 minute show. Would be down to see Snails again though I'm probably not going get over there for much of that show.
Saturday - B 1:30 - Seratones 2:30 - Brutus (unfortunate I won't be able to see any of Iglooghost) 3:45 - Flamingosis 4:45 - Whipped Cream (eh) 5:45 - Medasin 6:30 - Denzel Curry 7:30 - The National 8:30 - Glitch Mob or Zhu (I don't mind Royal Teeth) 9:30 - Beck 10:00- Bassnectar
Sunday - F
12:00 - Saints Game 1:30 - Ghost of Paul Revere/Willaris K
2:30 - Rest of Saints Game 5:00 - Opiuo 6:00 - Bring Me the Horizon 6:30 - Sheck Wes 7:35 - DJ Raj Smoove
Saturday would have been my only good day but with Denzel Curry vs Japanese Breakfast and Clairo vs ZHU with The National sandwiched in between both those time slots, it doesn't look nearly as good. I'd want to be up front for both Clairo and The National too.

Agree to an extent. I do like the Brandi/Interpol/GNR run - that's solid. I'll prob see Grandson b/c from what I can tell on youtube, that may be crazy. Denzel/National/Zhu and a split fo part at Beck and part Bassnectar makes for a good Sat. Sunday is a Saints game and then after I may go out to see what is going on. Who knows.
But, not that this board is active again, I go back to my question of a month or so back. I was making ACL reservations and wondered if we thinnk they'll ever blow up Voodoo that way? Go with more stages, more bands (and bigger ones) and up the ticket price? After I posted that, crickets.....
