Why cant Vampire Weekend play my hometown venue?!?
Yaeji seems likely. Fox Theater Oakland Sept 16 and no date til Denver the 22. This is where its gonna get sticky for Coachella if they can pull her out of the fest.
So he has it open but has his Hollywood show. But that show is already sold out so maybe restriction clause wouldn’t matter
Yea, it’s already sold out and was a rescheduled show. I have a feeling that festivals will be a bit lenient on radius clauses for the rest of the year.
I've got a bad feeling that even if we wipe this virus off the face of the earth by May (HAH), the music and entertainment industry has been so completely turned upside down that I don't even imagine we should be expecting to see the late summer and early fall festivals coming together. Hell, it seems over a half dozen cancelled festivals now think they're all rescheduled for the same 4 week period beginning at the end of September. This shit is going to be a hot mess for a very long time.
But what about every other festival thats happening the same weekend, theyre not alone anymore.
I'm assuming they must've booked most of their lineup before the whole virus thing blew up, no?
Yeah, theyve been ready to go, but with radius clauses thrown out the window for the moment its not easy to assume its all the same now. Lets say Lana was on the bill, but Coachella is gonna keep her on the hook, then what. We dont know what else Tame had lined up either or anyone else on the bill if its ever released. With Lolla stalling, LN is just trying to wait this out as long as they can before letting anyone spend money they might have to potentially refund.
Kinda accepted that it's not gonna happen this year. But I'm more curious to know if they're gonna do it in 2021 or just scrap it completely.
Probably scrap it right? Fests usually don’t make money their first couple of years and the world economy is at a relative stand still. Probably not the best time to expand. Hopefully they find a way
