the only convincing argument for me to get a fake ID
I was shocked i didnt see kids trying to get other people to get them a wristband. Maybe sunday. Cause they had multiple id check spots and i doubt those people would notice if you went by more than once. Also saw lots of people not even realize that was the deal. They were asking security what the deal was and were surprised. So I def chalk it up to bad communication for sure and lots of people not looking at their socials and such for info.
Any tips for parking today? I have a couple spots I was going to checkout but would like to get any suggestions from the Friday peeps. I’m trying to get there before 1:30
You can also park at Union Station East lot for $8 per day, and then it's a quick ride from there to the Chinatown stop on the metro gold line -- was pretty painless yesterday. Also, got some cheaper drinks at the Union Station bar before we went into the festival, which was a nice alternative to paying $15 for a Tecate. Probably gonna do the same today.

Day 1 was awesome. I feel so bad for the under 21 folks--pretty ridiculous layout, and I can't imagine people who are like 19 that bought tickets to see Clairo, Mitski and Lorde and had no opportunity to get good spots for them. That seems like the biggest mistake organization wise... I attended so many festivals as a teenager and being able to get good spots for big artists was a huge draw for me.
But aside from that, really strong performances. Shygirl and PinkPantheress were fun, Clairo was great, but I'd have to say Stereolab and Mitski were my two highlights. Stereolab was phenomenal. Lorde's set was great too, the Solar Power songs really shined.

I will say yesterday it was funny seeing the differences in the crowd. Under 21 had their phones up for all of Mitski and the over 21 side barely had any out.

insane the disrespect her younger fans have for her. she specifically requested people dont record her shows and got so much shit for it. i hate to say it but i welcome 21+ areas if it results in a more respectful crowd.

didn't people try to claim she was ableist after she put out that statement??

I think it was mainly 2 or 3 preteen idiots on Twitter who claimed self-diagnosed "dissociation" and who were rightly blasted for it (like the above tweet), but I do wish Mitski would enact Yondr pouches, because the clips I've seen of her recent shows are unbelievable with the amount of people recording the whole show. Like I'm glad I saw her on "Puberty 2" before she got big with the kids.
Might be more people or just things are being better attended. But still not close to being crazy crowd wise.
Saturday was amazing! surf curse delivered with all of their new songs and nin killed it! oh also bumped into fontaines dc guys at the festival and the guitar/bass player to surf curse it was epic. can't believe there is one more full day I've never done a 3 dayer before. here's to AM
Barring any last minute problems, I'm going today. Was unable to attend the first two days-- anything I need to know? One question I had is what's the dance stage like, doesn't seem to be a tent which is sort of weird, I wonder if Helena Hauff gets many outdoor sunset slots usually haha.

Def looks like its gonna be an all day camp out at Primavera Stage. Tons of people just hanging out and prob dont care about whatever else is at the other stages.

Coulda used for better scheduling and flow for the music (too much time with nothing that vibed for me, esp that Fontaines DC/ Drain Gang block... yeesh), but the highlights were incredible on Saturday. NIN? Warpaint? Khruangbin? Georgia? Bicep? All so good. Just wish it had been programmed in a more conscientious manner. Tierra Whack really can't though, can she? Would return for a day in 23 headliner (and festival even returning) dependent.
I assume that allowing 21+ to carry drinks around and watch bands vs putting them in a fenced-off area away from the stage is more conducive to alcohol sales.
I wish Coachella would do it but I doubt they ever would
