Round table discussions of “what if we went from one inconvenient place to another inconvenient place” must not be going too smoothly
They’re not moving this year. We got an official statement on it from Founders that we read on the We’re Doing Great podcast, and it said they’re staying at Randall’s for 2020.
Love the humble plug haha but I didn’t know that thanks for the info.
Not sure if I should be more worried or excited by the lack of updates....I feel like in the past when they’ve procured a big booking it’s been leaked
Total silence, and the complete ambiguity of almost all the clues has me mildly concerned. But the lack of any leaks at all has me optimistic they probably did a good job and have a gun to anyone’s head who knows anything at all and wanna keep it a real surprise.

I honestly don't think it means anything significant one way or the other. We're still not past the latest they've announced in the years I've been going - looking back at the e-mails, that would be 1/8/16.

In 2014 they announced the lineup on Wednesday January 15th (which is also a Wednesday this year), so I would not think anything amiss until then.
11/28 Raveonettes (Copenhagen, Denmark) 12/4 Interpol 12/14 LCD Soundsystem 12/31 Billy Joel 1/25 The Killers (Las Vegas) 2/12 Jack White 2/25 Father John Misty 3/6 Inhaler 4/10 Franz Ferdinand 4/17 Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 5/15 Amyl & the Sniffers 5/18 Fontaines D.C. 9/1 Oasis
sure but they werent going to announce on a friday
Looking back on my announcement emails, they've been all over the board on the day of the week for the announcement, they've done it on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in various years. They do send an email saying the announcement is coming the next day though.

Whoa, they weren't kidding about aiming for a more mature vibe. I'm all the way down for it, but interesting that no hip-hop artists were mentioned. I mean...Stevie definitely headlines if this is true, right? Any chance VW doesn't?

Legit curious: would Nicks really be a big draw? Fleetwood Mac toured pretty extensively recently, and people would mainly just come for the handful of hits that she'll play.

Yeah i agree....if shes a headliner im not so sure shes gonna pull big numbers
I'd heard they were going for a more mature vibe with the lineup to go along with the age restriction, but, yeah...that's more mature than I was expecting. I'd imagine they'll put some younger-skewing act up against her on the Honda Stage, if she is, indeed, headlining.
I would enjoy myself with all those headliners, though I wonder how impressive Stevie Nicks is at this level in her career.
I saw her solo and with FM in the past few years and she is holding up. She has entertaining banter as well. Maybe Harry Styles will come out as a guest for her.

I could see Stevie pulling a decent crowd. Mid to late 20 year olds love the Mac, VW and Tame.
In the past if Nicks was up against Flume...Flume would be the overwhelmingly more crowded show on the Honda. I guess we’ll see how much the age limit impacts this.
Very excited to see the undercard now. Do they overcompensate and fill it with a lot of Soundcloud stars or do they really commit to the mature fest.

Wow, Stevie Nicks is a really nice booking! If Foals and Local Natives end up on this lineup (which I'm presuming they will) I'm absolutely attending this festival this year. PUMPED
