Wonder what the chances are of Young Thug coming out for Good Times during Jamie xx's set. Just realized that possibility since theyre playing the same day

- Is this actually at Citi Field inside or in the parking lot? I'm assuming the parking lot (similar to Meadows festival) - Big Thief, Leon Bridges and Jamie XX are true WTF bookings, though I guess Jamie XX would make a little more sense. Big Thief/Leon Bridges crowd will be sparse - Wish they would tilt the days a little heavier in one direction so the vomit teens could have one day the rest of us could avoid but I guess that wouldn't help drive 3 day sales - Wonder what the rationale was for removing the age restriction? I'm assuming the fear that it wouldn't sell out but, still, yikes.
Ideally, festivals need to be either very musically diverse or tightly focused upon a few compatible musical styles. What makes no sense is trying to split the difference between those two poles and booking a small handful of acts that appeal to a very different audience than 95% of the lineup.
When I looked at this lineup, I thought to myself, "Why even bother booking Big Thief, Orville Peck, and Leon Bridges at all?"
Either be Rolling Loud/Electric Daisy Carnival/Riot Fest/Newport Folk or be Bonnaroo/Outside Lands/ACL/Lolla/Coachella. A narrow focus makes some music fans extremely happy, while being as musically diverse as possible gives just about any music fan enough to make it a worthwhile weekend.
I've never understood the thinking in booking just a couple of acts who are tremendously different than everyone else on an otherwise tightly-focused lineup. It seems like every edition of Made In America had exactly one rock & roll band in the lineup. Why bother?

They've done it before. They will never touch how hilariously bad this is so they shouldn't try again.
lol yeah I remember this being horrible. maybe worst thing I've seen on a BR in competition w a guy with a moving dick on his face
I think BR even cleaned up the audio a bit before reuploading this to youtube. I remember watching this live and just laughing uncontrollably. I love it.
For the love of all that's holy, I wish this festival could move on from The Strokes. I feel like everyone's right, but...blah. I've tried so hard. I even went to the NYE show this past December. I just can't make that band work for me.
Anyway. My biggest question is whether this will be 18-and-over, still. Please, festival gods, make that happen.
No Strokes so not to worry.
infinitypass Are The Strokes playing any other fest besides Outside Lands & III Points? ACL Weekend Exclusive? Shaky Knees?
I guess everyone I’m interested in decided to play Firefly instead by the looks of that lineup. There are even acts on the bottom two lines I’d be interested in.
How is it/how is the vibe? I don't usually go to all edm festivals, but I have been to a couple in LA and Amsterdam
Any reason you stopped going?
Is it tough to get to the park if you are in NYC?
I am from LA, but I may visit NY and wonder if I could make it to Ezoo
Fun time for sure, but I stopped going when they got rid of sunday school which was the House/Techno tent. Ferry is easiest way to get to and from fest (if you're staying east side south of 60th street). Could always stay in Astoria and take the walking bridge to/from. It's definitely a younger crowd for sure.
