Again, I'm stumped. The first clue seemed so straightforward, and I've been totally flummoxed by the next two.
My only guess is Yo La Tengo...they are from Hoboken...their name is 9 letters (that may be a stretch)
I love the shit out of Yo La Tengo, but I have a hard time envisioning them at a festival like Governors Ball given that, even with the age restriction, the audience is going to skew much younger than your typical fan of the band.

I know it's a longgg shot, but if Pearl Jam is playing Lolla that means they are willing to do LiveNation festivals. 10 year anniversary + the confidence to enact the new age limit because you have a slam dunk #1 to sell it out.

Big stretch but you never know.
Where are you hearing that Pearl Jam is playing Lollapalooza?

DAMNIT WHY DO THEY HATE NYC???
They were announced at the European Lolla's and all of the headliners from the Sweden version went on to play the US Lolla last year. Again not concrete but looks like it's leading that way.
With their love of Baseball Stadiums you think they would do that. Citi is a great place for a summer show and they're one of the rare bands that Yankees Stadium would allow do a show.
But maybe if as you say they don't like NYC and just want to get in and out Gov Ball would open that opportunity.

Yeah, sorry for the intensity of my reaction. Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time, and they haven't been back here since 2016. Every year, I hold out hope that GovBall will finally achieve their long-stated goal of landing the band...and, every year, my soul dies a little more when they don't.
I would gladly accept a Citi Field show, or an arena show, or just about damn near anything, at this point, though.

Haha yeah they're in my top 5 bucket list and they're really never around (think the last one was like a sunday night at msg). As a NYer is rare an act can elude the concert/festival scene around here as much as they have.

Aside from the mid-90's when their Ticketmaster stance only led them to play one show in the area during the VS/Vitalogy era they've been around pretty frequently:

Aside from the mid-90's when their Ticketmaster stance only led them to play one show in the area during the VS/Vitalogy era they've been around pretty frequently:
1996 - 2x Randalls Island
1998 - 2x MSG
2000 - 3x Jones Beach
2003 - 1x Nassau 2x MSG
2006 - 2x Continental Airlines Arena/Izod Center
2008 - 2x MSG
2010 - 2x MSG 1x Prudential Center
2013 - 2x Barclays
2015 - Global Citizens
2016 - 2x MSG
That being said, it HAS been a while so maybe?
Jones Beach or Citi would really be my dream over Gov Ball
My guess is Snail Mail. She hasn't announced any 2020 dates beyond Shaky Knees, but the fact she's playing there tells me she might be on the fest circuit next summer.
I've seen some other folks mention Trippie Redd given that the area code is for Topanga, California, and he has a song called "Topanga"...but he also has a February date at Terminal 5, which would seem to be a radius clause violation.

Didn't Parcels get rained out last year? Could be them with a make up.

The reason I don't think that'd be the case is that the box at the bottom of the 10 years in review page that lists previous years from which we'll see artists in 2020 leaves 2019 out.
Does GB typically have any crossover with Buku? Their lineup has a lot of bite to it. Really digging some of their out-of-left-field booking choices like Ganja White Night and The Trifinity.

I am going to say this is Trippie Redd as my rule for these clues is that it is always the artist I know the least about and/or have the least desire to see...and i have never even heard of Trippie Redd

Ganja White Night does not seem like an out of left field booking for Buku

The little "fun fact" on the 10 years in review page says: "THE LINEUP FOR THE 10TH EDITION WILL FEATURE ACTS FROM 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, AND 2017, ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS WHO ARE MAKING THEIR GOV BALL DEBUT."
Not present on that list: 2018, which is the only year Maggie Rogers played the festival. This leads me to believe it can't be her.
