Are you fucking kidding me? Get out of here with that. Do your research. Read up on shit before throwing words like that around. Jesus.
Bret Dennon crushed “Late in the Evening” with DeerTick at the cafe. Im not here to call out crap bands at Newport, but I can think of 30 that jump Bret Dennon in line. Beck might be at the front.
Courtney backed by Deer Tick sounds like a fun experiment
I kind of would love a last waltz style set from Deer Tick. Give them 2 hours and let it be a mix of Deer Tick songs and multiple guests/covers from various artists but with Deer Tick as the backing band. This is the year that they're taking a break from after shows and stuff once it's over, right?
Yes, they said last year that this year would be the final year they were hosting aftershows.

Week before shows in Pittsburgh are usually a pretty good indicator. I always debate if I should see half of those shows before making my way to Newport and then there's always the conflict of Newport Eve show with someone who is playing the festival too. Luckily this one's early enough I can catch if before making my way to Newport.
Apparently he's playing Osheaga on Friday. There are a few other potential crossovers: VW, Bon Iver, Brittany Howard, Phoebe, Orville, Soccer Mommy and Julia Jacklin

Leon is playing Fenway though.
I would think opening for Maroon 5 wouldn't be an issue for Newport, but I don't really know how the sausage is made.

Was concerned that is too much travel/shows in a row for bon iver to make it to newport saturday but they had a similar stretch of Vail=>Red Rock=> salt lake which was more travel than Portland=>newport=>Montreal
I’m incredibly surprised that I’ve only moved from 19th in the Lyte line for 3 day tickets to 4th. I’ve been stuck at 4th for a few weeks now. I’d have expected more than 15 people to have sold back their tickets in over a month time span. Unless I got stuck because I did indeed request 2 instead of 1 (we were debating whether that would matter earlier in this thread).
*Looks like there are 22 available on Stubhub - more tickets listed on Stubhub than have been sold through Lyte since Lyte went live almost two months ago.

Noname, Sharon, Peck, Phoebe and Brittany are at Boston Calling....
Hope this doesn’t mess up our chances at any of them...
I am happy to see no HER...maybe Newport will go for that booking.
Phoebe seems really likely to me this year. She’s not back to back plus if Conor Oberst is coming back they’re collaborators. Maybe we get that boygenius booking we missed last year, to get around the radius clauses...?

Or if Bright Eyes is there a BOCC booking we missed last year...?
2 announcements a week plus a little later of a start... I haven't put any thought into this but could this be to intentionally avoid Boston Calling radius clauses? Maybe they'll wrap announcements after Boston Calling happens?
Is it safe to come out from under the covers? Dylan's dog has pipes, but more impressed by that fireplace. Second, some guy at Lyte named Jay assures me I'm in a good place at, now 444. I hadn't moved from 454 for weeks and wanted to make sure I had not fallen off the tracks. Been back further; just slow this year, so my friend who wants the tix will have to say "in Jay at Lyte we trust."
Oh, the music -- RKS seems interesting enough. Pleasant indie. The way they bring a little spoken/rap to the music -- is the year we see more cross-over? Not impressed by Vagaon, but in a room where some people are unhappy about Yola's return...just happily watching the world and the adds go by.

The fireplace is the crown jewel of the basement apartment.
Also, does Foo Fighters playing Osheaga on Friday make a Dave Grohl appearance with Deer Tick more likely?

While on the topic of Grohl.
RDGLDGRN album features Grohl on Drums. They just announced their first headline US tour, and no Boston stop.
