Latest albums by Grace Potter and Marcus King were both produced by Dan Auerbach... could we see the Black Keys? They seem to have a nice gap in their touring schedule between July 26 and August 11th...

I'd rather see Dan have a set than the Black Keys, but both are welcome.
As soon as I saw Puss 'n Boots with Catherine Popper, I thought of Grace Potter. I caught last month at the Beacon. She gutted through a pretty long show with a really bad throat, although -- as happens at the Beacon -- there were times they were so loud I found some of her songs, new and old, blending into each other and not that listenable. But an outdoor venue could cure that. Terrific booking.
Yes...Black Keys would be outstanding. I'd actually prefer the Black Crowes or even just Bill Robinson. Need to address the blues.
Well, I was on the fence before, but now I definitely think there’s something up with Lyte. Amid all this cancellation chaos, I’ve barely moved an inch in line. I find it hard to believe that so few people are looking to unload their tickets ahead of a likely cancellation. Maybe Folkheads just have a cooler disposition than the average joe. But I really thought that over the past few days I’d move at least 5 slots (especially with how lackluster the bookings feel so far). Oh well. In the meantime, I’ll be using old CVS receipts for toilet paper while the world burns...
I've jumped up about 15 slots in the 3-day pass line on Lyte in the last 2 days.
That’s weird. I’m on 3-day too and I just double-checked but I’ve barely moved at all. I’m pretty low, so if the festival happens I’m still confident I’ll get a tix when summer rolls around (and like I said, the lineup doesn’t have me very excited, it’s just the pure joy of the festival itself that keeps me hoping it doesn’t get nixed). As I’m typing this, I’m wondering if it’s because I’m lower (< 200). If you’re higher and dropping faster than me, maybe it’s potential buyers cancelling their spot in line, rather than sellers unloading their tickets. Oh well, I’ve just found it curious.
We're over 4 months away from the festival, calm down y'all
Uhhh, should I type in a smaller font to convey tranquility? Believe me, when I lose my calm, I’m not going to be spending my time musing on an NFF chat room.

The National is playing Calgary Folk Fest the weekend before Newport. Maybe they are in play for Sunday? Though, as I think somebody has pointed out, that would be 5 consecutive shows.
If the festival has to be cancelled, do I get the refund for the tickets? Do I get the tickets for next year if that’s how they handle refunds? Or does the original buyer?

Any idea?
Once a ticket is bought through Lyte you own all rights to it(i.e. you can resell it if you need to as well), so any refunds / exchanges should happen through Lyte and come to you. If you bought it off another platform, well good luck with that. I'm up to 177 in queue from 200 something I can't remember where I started.
Thankfully my Lyte ticket is for a friend. Started 2nd day at around 475; today at 407 after a long time of barely moving. Sometimes I feel as though there are several tracks. Who knows. More worried that these days I type in Lyte and get Lyte Leggings. Perhaps I should be more aware of websites I visit:)
Noticed that the Miami Ultra Festival not offering refunds, but admission to the fest in 2021 or 2022 (whirling sounds....if there is a 2022), plus discounts on merchandise and stuff. SXSW similar, with no offer of refunds. Seems unfair that profit making promoters should not at least share some of the misery, esoecially with their insurance policies and tax write-offs.
Future tix makes sense for Newport, though (Marc, bite your tongue). It's about the Foundation first -- with the caveat that people who scrape the barrel to attend are not hurt. I would bet if people were offered an option of at least a partial refund or having your money go to future tickets, perhaps also usable for off-season shows and merch, or as a donation to the Foundation, some of us would be willing to help out the Foundation. But that's all moot, because I will see you all at the Fort in 2020.

There hasn’t really been a blues-heavy lineup since Jack White headlined in 2014, right? It seems like the blues are due to to come back around.
Re: Lyte: I wonder if a lot of people do what I did? I got in very late (thanks work) and when I saw I was over 1300 for 3 days I put in like...all the lines. So I’m in for 3 days, in for 2 days, and in for single days. Obviously if one line or the other delivers I’ll get out of the rest.

Or...who has a large backyard? Jay?
Newport tickets are almost as good as currency. Sure you’d lose some helpful liquidity, but if they allowed a ticket to be used instead for 2021, I’d have no problem because that would save me the nightmare of having to buy in November and also could easily be resold through Lyte.
Hope you are all doing alright. This is a lot to process and I am often feeling overwhelmed by the pace of change, vision of the near future, uncertainty about the rest of the year, concern over my family and friends every cough, etc. That being said, Newport is still coming through for me in that the playlist is growing and I am finding joy in the music. Last night Newport alum Matt the Electrician livestreamed a concert on Instagram and took tips via Venmo and Paypal. It was really kind of wonderful just seeing him play songs in his house and shout out folks online. It was easy to envision this as a new way for musicians to stay afloat (maybe even a better way than concerts and the streaming services.) He mentioned that he knew several other musicians that were looking to do collaborative things similarly. I would like to propose that, if you come across a planned livestream concert, that you share it here. If it really takes off, we can maybe make our own listings site that can serve as a resource for all planned livestream concerts.
Stay healthy everyone and hope to see you this summer.

This is a great idea, and I think you're right that we will probably be seeing more of these coming up. I think last week I saw that Ron Gallo and his band were doing a livestream from their living room. I'll keep a look out for future ones
