Love the new Taylor Swift and was not a fan previously. Great composition and the Bon Iver feature is my favorite. I want to know who The Last Great American Dynasty is about. She has a Newport house right?
Watch Hill, RI
Wasn't she originally going to play in Massachusetts Newport weekend? I'm surprised they got the album done so quickly since April. Maybe when they realized they weren't going to collaborate at Newport they went down this path instead?

Yeah Gillette 7/31 and 8/1. Had the Sunday open, and National was scheduled Sunday.

It's funny. I came here to say the same thing. I felt the same about her but critics are raving about it so I gave it a listen and read about it a little. It's a great album. Some songs I think are there to satisfy her base but I thought but a lot lean towards the alternative indie folk spectrum. From what I read she's a big fan of a lot of musicians who've played Newport which might explain her NPR Tiny Desk appearance in recent times. There are 17 tracks on this album. Many are already saying this is her best album. To consider it came about since April is remarkable. A few songs are clearly heavily influenced by Phoebe Bridgers who she's a fan of. Others seem influenced by Lana Del Rey. Aaron Dessner's influence is there especially on one song. A few years back I'd have though it ridiculous for her to play Newport. Now I'll be surprised if she doesn't.
Been logged tf off inforoo after live music took a tumble, so sorry if this has been discussed and I'm just missing it:
Is anyone capturing the archive streams from this weekend? Would love to be able to listen to them at my leisure.
I tried to grab the Prine set last night off sirius xm, but my sirius online account died during last song. They have a schedule here for Saturday and Sunday if anyone is interested. Probably some overlap with newport folk radio.
I don’t want to celebrate exactly, but I did mention a few years back that the club was run by some corrupt CT Politicians who helped John Rowland launder money. I didn’t have a chance to listen to that whole Interview but Hopefully this means they’re selling, someone else can buy the space, and I can feel ok about going to after shows there again.
for those who are in re-live the moments mode, someone combined solid cam footage of Dawes with the radio audio so we can relive the North Hills set. audio is pretty good but overall its great and has already made my day.
Anyone here watch Narcos on Netflix? The intro song is amazing. Last night I looked up who wrote it. It's Tuyo by Rodrigo Amarante. The name sounded familiar so I went in YouTube and typed Rodrigo Amarante and Newport Folk Festival. Sure enough there when was at Newport 2015. Played the Harbor before Lord Huron. This video was recorded at Newport 2015.

Anyone recording today's broadcast? I'm moving and won't have internet until tomorrow so can't listen. Also almost out of data so using data to stream is not really an option.

I’m attempting it, hope it works out.
What's your process? I can give it a go too if it's simple enough so we have our bases covered!

I'm hoping to record most of the sets. I'll let you know what I get
Is anyone keeping a running set list so far? I already regret not writing down each song as we go and would greatly appreciate anyone who can share that at some point.

Nothing but love for my lord and savior on the drums, Carla Azar, but Jack White's band on this 2014 run 'round the festival circuit was INSANELY GOOD.
