People booked hotels for next april back in april, thats why prices are bad. I did just like I have the last 9 years. Everyone who thought they werent even considering next year at all got a big reality check when the second postponement came up.
Has anyone who ordered the photo book received it yet? I still haven't gotten mine; not sure how concerned to be.
Saw a reply about it and it just said along the lines that due to whats going on they arent printing it yet, but when theyre able that itll happen. 🤷🏻♂️

Again, prices were bad then too, plus most hotels hadn’t even opened availability yet.
AM have peaked/lost their sizzle imo. The lounge album was a terrible move, the handful of people who were into it aside. They should have came back hot after AM and just went full on Black Keys with basic radio hits.
I bunch AM in with bands like Foo Fighters and RHCP with Josh. I’m not particularly hoping they’re on a lineup but will have a fantastic time at their show singing along to hit after hit. I also have a much better chance at seeing a rock concert while living in MO than I do someone like Kendrick, Frank, etc
2021 rescheduled shows are starting to really roll in now. From what I see most artists/bands are scheduling for the same months, in 2021, that they had scheduled in 2020. Gonna really suck for a lot of new tours trying to book.

Hopefully there are still venues to book these shows at.
I still stand by Arctic Monkeys don’t headline Coachella but I would love them as a sub to hear Do I Wanna Know? at 1030pm on the main stage Saturday
Theyre a headline or nothing act now, so they wont come back otherwise. Considering they didnt move up at all in billing and schedule wise they were on earlier in 2012 than in 2007, its like they stalled at coachella but not everywhere else. They can easily be at the top of the line up just surrounded by 2 high profile names on the other days. Would anyone complain if it was AM, Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar? I doubt it. Theres nothing wrong with what would be considered a “weak” headliner as long as the undercard is stacked. Look at 2013, not like Phoenix had a bunch of shitty names beneath them on their day. How about Jack Johnson in 08.

I think people would complain a lot if Taylor Swift is one of the headliners. Also the fact that she had her own “festival” shows that Cochella isn’t interested in booking her.

strong strong disagree, that was my 2nd fave album of theirs behind humbug and I loved their live show behind it. AM was them at their worst
Oh yeah, AM was they at their worst for sure, but as far as their ceiling goes they were at the height of their stateside success during that run. I think if they would have came back with some more radio friendly hits (or maybe just even more of what they had always done) then they might have finally gotten the bump. The last one seemed to push them on a downward trajectory. I do respect them for not selling out and going their own way instead though.
very fair, that was certainly their commercial peak and they likely won't ever see that kind of success again, but I think their next record could propel them back into the mainstream a bit more. Tranquility Base was originally an Alex Turner solo project anyways so it was bound to be off the wall compared to the rest of their discog.

I have enjoyed every era of Arctic Monkeys, with Suck It and See probably being my least favorite album, but far more baffling than the last album for me was the tour. It was super low-energy, and they even played the older tracks at much slower speed. Always enjoyed their shows until that run, which felt like a waste of money.

AEG booked those shows, so wheres the lack of interest? Lets consider the timing, they wouldve been in August this year and zero american festival appearances, just Europe. Next year wouldve likely been all the big ones in north america. limited tour dates mean instant sell out with those 4 shows. And she has openly expressed that she wanted to do limited tour dates because of her mothers health. So the festival circuit would satisfy that by not putting a lot of stress on availability. Beyonce announced stadium shows for the summer a few weeks before the Coachella performance even happened and sold em out anyway. It wouldnt even matter when the rescheduled u.s shows for taylor happened because theyre so sold out, adding other dates would just appease demand, and i dont think her fanbase will hold it against her because of covid happening by still booking other shows that wouldve happened if things were fine. 🤷🏻♂️

I'm pretty sure Lover Fest in LA was booked by Live Nation? (why would they use Ticketmaster to sell tickets?)
I meant I didn't mean her fans when I mentioned "people complaining" lol - it was mostly interwebz and forums etc
NFL stadiums use ticketmaster as their primary ticket vendor, they gotta deal with it. Theres still plenty of shows that get sold that way despite the promoter. Like shows at The Orpheum are sold with Ticketmaster, but they put on shows by any promoter because theyre an independent venue. So GV, LN etc can book whatever they want there, it just has to be sold on TM cause thats the contract the Orpheum has. Its not like The Greek which forces the promoter to sell on whatever platform they desire so its always a shit show to buy tickets for anything that goes on there. Goldenvoice is promoting that Rammstein show at The Coliseum, but it was sold on Ticketmaster, so what gives there.

I increasingly wish that Coachella and every other festival would just make this official and cancel everything for a year. I could be wrong, but I suspect this sense that we're just around the corner from normalcy is keeping people from taking it as seriously as they need to be, and it's just dragging this whole thing out longer. At this point I can't envision Coachella happening in April without a vaccine this year, which ain't happening.

If we get lucky, itll be fine, but borderline at best for the moment. I mean they dont have to say anything to us til January. By then theyll have planned out any scenarios for whats needed to be done and will pull the trigger on either April or October.
They’re technically available for both but yeah, this definitely points more towards Octoberchella. Definitely gonna catch one of those red rocks shows though
I hope if it does happen in October, we can get the jump on booking dates before hotels wise up again.
I mean, if it's available to book right now, I'd go ahead and book some refundable hotel rooms.
Gonna have to wait until its actually October to get the jump on hotels. No hotel chain is opening up bookings farther than their typical 11 month or 12 month advance. Even expedia which is 15 months does not have open hotels, just resorts and rentals. Gonna be tricky with finding places that offer free cancel and reserve in advance.
