Alright, so I think we’ve settled that there’s probably a lot of interest in a KSG set. That album was the last decent thing he put out so that’s fair. But what about a MAGA hat Christian grifter Kanye set? That sounds more like what Coachella is going to actually book.

There will be plenty of interest in a Kanye set, enough to merit headlining. My point is there's no other potential headliner who'd turn as many people off to the festival as he would. It's a stupid decision. But again, not my festival. Just sad if it happens.

You guys remember a thread on the old Coachella board in 2011 when someone tried starting a campaign to throw fish sticks at Kanye because of that one South Park episode? Kanye backlash was always there, but it was simpler and dumber pre-MAGA.

Lol I do remember that, but I don't think interrupting Taylor Swift on stage (his primary controversy at the time) compares to today. And shit, he apologized more for the Taylor interruption than he has for his last few years' of behavior.

I think it’s also a fair question whether or not he’ll keep up the MAGA shit if Trump loses.

Will he give up the Christian shit? The free thinking Owens shit? None of that is specifically tied to Trump. I don't see why you think he might do an old school Kanye West show where he plays the hits when that seem like the 5th or 6th most likely outcome based on everything he's done since the Pablo tour. Even the KSG one off and the Cudi set would be a bummer of a headlining performance.

I don't think he'll drop the Christianity bit but I'm guessing it wouldn't be a glorified Sunday Service set either. I was curious to see how much pre-secular material he's included in his Sunday Service sets and this is what I found...
All Falls Down (College Dropout) Jesus Walks (College Dropout) I'll Fly Away (College Dropout) Heard 'Em Say (Late Registration) Hey Mama (Late Registration) I Wonder (Graduation) Good Life (Graduation) Can't Tell Me Nothing (Graduation) Flashing Lights (Graduation) Love Lockdown (808s & Heartbreak) Power (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) Lost in the World (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) Black Skinhead (Yeezus) Ultralight Beam (The Life of Pablo) Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1 (The Life of Pablo) Wolves (The Life of Pablo) Fade (The Life of Pablo) Saint Pablo (The Life of Pablo) No Mistakes (ye) Ghost Town (ye) Violent Crimes (ye) Reborn (Kids See Ghosts) All Day Wash Us in the Blood Lift Yourself
I wouldn't expect all of this but some combination of these plus some newer stuff along with a few Jesus Is King songs? I'd be cool with it. Either way, even if he wasn't on a Jesus kick I wouldn't be expecting stuff like Gold Digger, Stronger or Ni**as in Paris.
To be honest, Kanye really could pick out enough songs out of his "secular" discography to perform live that wouldn't contradict his devotion to Christianity and not swearing in music now. Most of 808s is pretty clean and he has enough songs that are easy to omit the few swear words in there. There'd be a lot of big hitters he couldn't do but still
I mean if he's going to play his first show in four years the show would mostly be Ye/KSG/Jesus Is King/Whatever his next album is. Life of Pablo tour was 12 songs from that album, he's going to want to play all of his new music.

To be fair, TLOP was huge and warranted playing most of that tracklist live. He'd do Ghost Town, Violent Crimes, Yikes, and maybe 2 KSG songs imo. Maybe one from Jesus is King.. also depends on his upcoming album. Idk but it could work to be a good track list if he's open to really implementing those old semi clean songs. Really all of 808s is clean 🤔
On another note, anyone seen any updates on the coffee table books? Just curious.
Hey Matt,
Due to these unprecedented times, book production is on hold. A large portion of our staff are on furlough, etc too so we are still waiting. We'll update book purchasers as soon as fulfillment info is solidified. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through all of this. Stay safe.
