Somebody PM me the Delusional Optimists Handbook for Coachella so I can get up to speed with the latest tips and tricks on living in a fantasy world. Looks like a real cool place. Many have described it as Trumpian or Trumpesque.

You're so funny keep it up
You are so leveled headed and you keep things so real and so chill. Please keep checking people
If we have to wear masks at Coachella it won’t happen. People won’t wear them. Drugs, liquor, talking, screaming lyrics. We need a vaccine.
Echoed. I can't imagine every wearing one at a fest. I will hold out however long it takes until it's safe safe for everyone.
This where I'm at. It's tough enough just getting back to work and routines. The thought of working in a festival in the middle of all of this is a bit silly. Just my opinion!

Yes, it is me who is funny. Not the ones who think 125k people will be jam packed together in April. They are definitely not the funny ones.
It is honestly comical to be thinking about festival returns during a time like this. I feel more and more disconnected with the various kinds of ads and content fests have been pushing during the pandemic.
Yeah but Caribou's tour lines up really well with the dates!!
Look, I understand why everyone is laughing at the idea of a 2021 Coachella, but I wonder if Coachella would survive if it doesn't occur until 2022.
If you take the Save Our Stages people at their word, it sounds like 90% of independent venues will close for good because of the pandemic. I know why people think a company like AEG can weather this storm, but I'm not sure, especially if we don't see events until July 2021 at the earliest.

The elite festivals will survive imo. There’s too much money involved just to scrap them and it’s taken so long to build clout and prestige. I could see some of those mid-tiers that are owned by national promoters going away though. October 2021 is the most realistic pipe dream I guess. April 2021 is just way too soon, obviously.

It sure sounds to me that if Primavera Sound doesnt occur next year it could be over. I do think Coachella survives.

So why is Live Nation more or less drawing a line and having shows/tours starting up in late march/april and onward? Theyre pretty much setting it up that spring will be the time it all goes back.
Or is everyone taking a page from Elton Johns tour announcement and just not stepping foot into the u.s til 2022?
Guess I picked a good day to drop back in. If everyone is being so pessimistic in here, can you at least take 30 seconds and fill out the SaveOurStages.com form? I'm guessing only a few of you still have.
I know it's easy to sit around and argue on the internet but...aren't you tired of feeling helpless? Don't you want these things to come back, when they can?
I have a spreadsheet with senators' and house reps' phone numbers and I'm going to make a bunch of calls tomorrow morning. I can share it with anyone interested in joining.
Reopen when safe, yes. But what do you expect all these businesses to do in the meantime?
Live nation is pushing things back ever so slightly so they won't have to do massive refunds for every ticket someone bought Dec 19-Mar 20.
You just reminded me that The Rolling Stones owe me some money.
ween got pushed back like 3 different times, each time they sent out an email saying "click here for refund" and it would take you to the ticket page where there would be no information. Finally just at the point where I'd rather have the money so I finally got w cust service and they did the refund. But it's clear they're making it difficult.

If Coachella doesn't survive then pretty much no other festival will.

I’m clueless as to what does a festival not surviving look like so can someone explain it to me.
Like let’s take Flog Gnaw for instance. Cool no Flog until 2022. The people involved in it go take jobs elsewhere because they have to make a living elsewhere.
What’s stopping Tyler from going to GV (or whatever Major corporation venue owner survives this) in Jan 2022 and saying hey I want to throw a festival in November and getting funding (probably less funding and a downsized festival)?
Also I signed that SOS thing and all I got was a copied letter from Kamala

So if United Airlines is getting access to a rapid test that can be administered at the airport and gives results in 15 mins, or an at home kit, it’s not far fetched for festivals to do the same in 6 months.
