This time of the year feels so empty now without the anticipation of a lineup
Wish they would give us some sort of update as for what to expect. Whether that be an estimated month, a postponement or any sign of life from their socials.

By this time, people are and have been booking arrangements for Coachella. They need to say something soon.

Exactly. I am still on the edge about going this year but not even having dates announced really makes it impossible to plan for. Dates should be the bare minimum rn
Watch them wait til Jan 22 when Biden is for sure in office already. And remember when it was the end of Jan when they announced line ups? Those were the days.
At this point i still think its an optimistic opinion to think this happens in 2021, but just in case I booked a hotel in palm springs for weekend 2 (judging by gizz dates) so hopefully it can! With all the bullshit going on in the world and my own life right now. It's nice to imagine being at a festival again, even just experiencing any form of live music.
Dodger stadium is converting itself into a vaccination site in a week. Just wait when all sports stadiums do this and they are hopefully giving out a million shots a day in a couple months.

State Farm Stadium (AZ Cardinals) opened as a vaccination site today. It's open 24/7 through at least the end of the month. They're starting at 250 vaccines an hour and hope to ramp it up to 500.

I spoke with someone working with the UC Medical System to open these and the goal of the San Diego site is 5,000 vaccines a day.
Good. Dodger says theyre going to get up to 12k. Still curious when Sofi in Inglewood and even The Rose Bowl starts this up. Plenty of college stadiums in the south which can handle the volume. Of course itll be up to the covidiots to want the vaccine or not and not rely on Eventbrite for an appointment.
In New York City we vaccinate 9-5 in a terrible government run tiered system in a handful of locations and throw out the extra vaccine. Doing great.
CA has tiered systems too. I'm not really sure how these stadium run sites are supposed to work with the current tiers (right now, I believe only healthcare professionals and those in nursing homes are approved). The tiers seem too limited to make mass vaccinations really sensible.

Since they dont actually have all the doses they claim on hand its a bit tougher to just roll it out to anyone who just wants it. And they opened up more people to receive it, now pharmacists and urgent care staff can get it if they want. All the lower tier non front line medical workers. They also dont want rich people to just get it and then the state looks bad because of it. In the uk some investment company got caught asking a clinic for their unused doses and willing to pay £5000 a shot. Wasnt that the biggest fear from the get go that the kardashians would all get the vaccine on day 1 cause they just could?
If The government had bought those other 100 million pfizer doses we wouldve felt much more at ease on the roll out. Biden is gonna make this explode in a couple weeks. Im just glad what I had mentioned about stadiums is happening finally. It shouldve been ready to go at least a month ago, but ya know....

The system is broken
I know many people, not in healthcare, who are signing up
No proof needed of job or anything
My dad is in construction so he said he was in construction and he was just able to get it
Mom takes care of old grandma, was also allowed to get it
But really you need no proof and no reason to let vaccines with limited time frame go to waste. I rather health care workers get it first, but there is such a big distribution problem
Festivals will happen by fall at the latest, for the vaccine to be done and ready in about a year is insane

Citi Field announced as our stadium with 24/7 vaccines hoping to get to 5,000+ per day. Starts 1/25.
I didn’t know that was happening. That’s great though. It seems impossible to get an appointment as it is. I’ve had mine for a couple weeks now. Everyone please get it when you can, even if you experience side effects as someone who had both, they are absolutely not as bad as having covid I promise.
My school district just informed us that my area didn't receive vaccines and we are essentially on our own to find it.
Do you guys honestly think that Goldenvoice would host a festival with a disclaimer like, "If you are not vaccinated, don't buy a ticket because you will not be guaranteed entry"?
Just seems like they would avoid this situation by pushing it to April. I would like to think everyone is vaccinated by summer, but at this rate it feels more like fall (which feels like they would be cutting it close if so).
Trying to remain optimistic like some of you are in this thread. Things are not looking so promising irl though. I'm pumped for music and life as we knew it, but I hope they don't rush things until everyone is safe, personally.

i've said this before and maybe i'm wrong but i don't think proof of vaccination will be a thing. there is a world where covid is killing people and we can't have festivals, and there is a world where enough people are vaccinated to where covid isn't killing people and we can have festivals. and at the point where we are in the latter world where anyone can go get a vaccine the danger of covid is a personal responsibility thing. like coachella doesn't require proof that you've gotten your mumps vaccination for entry. it would suck to go to coachella and get mumps but you should've gotten vaccinated against it already.

With my parents being vaccinated today, I feel way more confident we will get this over with sooner than later
I think with Biden coming in we will see a lot more funding and some more urgency to get this done
October is very very reasonable
They may ask for proof or a waiver if not vaccinated that if you get sick this is not Goldenvoice's fault

Do we think when we eventually hear from goldenvoice it will be lineup and date change ? I find it odd that we haven’t gotten anything from them yet. As someone whose going no matter what it would be nice to know the dates just for planning purposes.

good point on a waiver. i'd bet the fine print when you buy a ticket will have some sort of hold harmless from disease clause.
generally i'm not anti-litigation by any means, it's an important tool to hold large corporations accountable, but could you imagine the type of person who attends a 100,000 person music festival and gets covid and then sues the festival.

Would be reasonable imo
I dont think October is very very reasonable. You'd need to start mobilizing in May or June to really ensure October is good to go. I think October is more likely than not, but its not a lock

This is the part that raises a red flag to me. Seems like they would avoid these kinds of statements all together. It would be less fun, but easier to just postpone the fest until they no longer need that kind of documentation imo. Maybe I'm underestimating how often we will be asked for proof. Doesn't seem so crazy though just to push it back another half of a year so they don't have to worry about these kinds of liability issues. By then everyone will (hopefully) have had the option to get it. At this point though it feels more difficult than anticipated. High five for your parents in any case.
I know GV is currently planning for October. Hopefully the holiday surge will peak in the next week or so, then the combination of an increasing number of vaccinations, a large percentage of the population having already had Covid and the drop associated with warmer weather will mean that even without everyone vaccinated, numbers will be manageable by June or so. It's still a ways to go, but October is at least conservative compared to the dates on the table for Lolla or Outside Lands.
Hopefully after Biden's sworn in and numbers start to go down a bit, we'll get either a lineup or at least date announcement.
