Random note: one of initial things in common with alawre was that Crafty Bastard was our favorite brewery in town. Over the last couple months, we've been slowly coming to the realization that it may actually be Xul now for both of us. Anyway, they're really close to each other and the festival, so you can try both if you wanna.

Not much for breweries (don't drink), but will definitely be on the lookout for relatively quick but still tasty food options since we're trying to fit in as much music as possible. Very possible some of the breweries would fit the bill there, who knows

Two words.
Tupelo. Fucking. Honey.
Well, two words and a third added for emphasis. If we do brunch again this year, this has my vote.
Tomato Head is across the street and good for quick pizza. If you’re looking for coffee, I swear by Old City Java.

E: all of these are on the festival footpath.
Tupelo Honey was getting a remodel when I was last downtown. Should be done by March though. I'll think on quicker food options downtown. Not really downtown's strong suit, but I'm sure there's things.
Oh shit. What’s the taco place attached to Mill and Mine? That place is clutch too.
Tako Taco. Since you've been there, they've also opened up a food hall right across the street from Mill and Mine. It's got like eight options in there.

Sounds like that might be the play if we're in a rush between sets; just pick whatever has the shortest line

OH SHIT. I’M IN. I just remember the Mexican Hot Dogs and drunkenly texted my wife about them. This was the conversation that I told her she should wear more yoga pants and she got waaaaaay pissed off.
Also a fan of Sweet P’s bbq. If for no other reason the cashier was a fan of my Windhand shirt. It’s solid bbq though.
The food hall is surprisingly legit. The burgers are pretty wild. I guess each of the stalls is/was a food truck? Most of the food around there should be relatively fast.

Looks like Ron Miles Quintet has been taken off the lineup 😭😭😭 EDIT: pulled up the event page and it's been updated with a statement even though it's not on the lineup at this point.
"Please Note: We are very disappointed to report that trumpeter, cornetist, and composer Ron Miles will be unable to appear at Big Ears due to a medical condition requiring surgery and an extended period of convalescence. In Ron’s absence, his quintet will become a quartet—Brian Blade, Bill Frisell, Jason Moran, and Thomas Morgan—and offer a special program, including Ron’s most distinctive and memorable compositions."

That stinks. Also noticed Damon Locks isn't on the full lineup page anymore but he does still appear on the dailies so hoping there wasn't a cancellation there as well
Edit: this tweet coming today seems to answer that question lol

Set times are in the page source for most acts now. New Masada Quartet moved to Bijou and they're playing two sets at 7 and 9 PM on the Sunday. Here's a few of the big ones:
