Oh man, Ron Miles died. Terribly sad news. He was at the top of my list on the original lineup, and it adds a lot of weight to that tribute set at the Bijou.
Yeah. I got a trip to Charleston with alawre and kids next week that I should be focusing any planning efforts on. I got mostly nothing set for Big Ears weekend, and it will likely stay that way until the week of.

Ok 90% finalized schedule here. Shifted some things around now that my brother/festival buddy has gone through the schedule to list his priorities and we've made compromises and such:
R: Kronos/So Percussion > 75 Dollar Bill > Shabaka/KSO > Bill Callahan > Pres Hall Brass > Low F: Perich/McVinnie > Arooj Artab > Nathalie Joachim > Jeff Parker > Cyrille/Ambrose > Meredith Monk > Patti Smith > Animal Collective > Circuit des Yeux > Mdou Moctar Sa: Lattimore/Tyler > Zorn Cantici > Ches Smith > Yasmin Williams > Nubya Garcia > Zorn Simulacrum > Moses Sumney > Jaimie Branch > Annette Peacock > Krewe du Kanaval Su: Alabaster DePlume > Hanif Abdurraqib > Zenon/Spektral > Bonny Light Horseman > Sudan Archives > Zorn Masada > Yves Tumor
Hopefully I find some time to eat in the gaps there; what an absolutely stacked weekend

If anyone's curious, here which acts have been added to schedules most frequently in the app. Probably an imperfect instrument, but might be helpful if you're trying to figure out which sets will be the most crowded:
If you're looking for sours, Next Level and Xul probably have better sours across the board. alawre and I trend towards fruitier sours though, so there is that bias. Crafty Bastard has launched a sour program recently, but we've both been disappointed so far. Very aggressive almost vinegar sours so far.
I think I've got my schedule down though I, of course, anticipate a few last-minute changes, both on my part and the festival's. Primary issue I'm trying to think through right now is whether to stay near Mill & Mine Friday night and see Animal Collective (one of my all-time favorites, whom I've somehow never seen before) then go over to Circuit Des Yeux or catch part of AC and go see Kim Gordon. Don't have the same attachment to Gordon that I do to AC and CDY, but it feels wrong to skip seeing her when I have the chance, hence the brackets around her set (and a couple other alternatives) below.
Thursday 6:30 - 7:45 | Patti Smith (Mill & Mine) 8:00 - 9:00 | We Were Here Before (Pilot Light) 9:30 - 10:45 | Fennesz (St. John's) 11:00 - 12:15 | Low (Mill & Mine)
Friday 12:15 - 1:30 | 75 Dollar Bill (Mill & Mine) 2:30 - 3:30 | Claire Rousay (Old City PAC) 4:00 - 5:00 | Jeff Parker & The New Breed (Standard) [4:30 - 5:45 | Damon Locks’ Black Monument Ensemble (Mill & Mine)] 6:15 - 7:15 | L’Rain 7:30 - 9:00 | Patti Smith and Her Band (Tennessee) 9:15 - 10:30 | Animal Collective (Mill & Mine) [10:00 - 11:15 | Kim Gordon (Tennessee)] 10:30 - 11:30 | Circuit Des Yeux (Pilot Light) 11:30 - 12:45 a.m. | Mdou Moctar (Mill & Mine)
Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 | Mary Lattimore & William Tyler: “Electric Appalachia” (Tennessee) 12:00 - 1:00 | Zorn: Nove Cantici… (Bijou) 1:30 - 2:45 | Christian Scott aTune Adjuah (Mill & Mine) 2:30 - 3:30 | Angel Bat Dawid & Sistazz of the Nitty Gritty (Standard) 3: 45 - 5:00 | Nubya Garcia (Mill & Mine) [4:30 - 5:30 | Cassandra Jenkins (Standard)] 5:30 - 6:30 | Sarah Davachi (St. John’s) 7:00 - 8:15 | Moses Sumney (Tennessee) 9:00 - 10:00 | Jaimie Branch’s Fly or Die (Standard) 10:00 - 11:15 | Annette Peacock (Tennessee) 11:00 - 12:30 | Joshua Abrams & Natural Information Society (Mill & Mine)

I’m holding out another week before I firm up schedule plans, I think. Bought tickets to Jamie Brach on Sunday in Baltimore because I need a full show for both her and Annette.
L’Rain was top notch. Don’t skip this set. AC was also really good. The new songs translate amazing on stage. I saw Jeff Parker solo a few months ago and loved it but really wish I could catch a New Breed show. Sad I can’t make this one work out.
Still gonna do the Amphitheater on Thursday but if it starts getting packed, I’ll bail till Lido.

For what it's worth the Tupelo Honey website does mention that they're open on Sundays (but I'm not local and maybe they've closed it down recently, idk)
And that menu looks bomb, I think we'll try to visit there even if we don't end up doing brunch there on Sunday
