Our festival would definitely sell out guys. RATM alone would probably do it, but couple it with Metallica and the mix of hip hop and metal to go with those 2. Plus everyone wants to see Lizzo. Everyone knows who she is and everyone loves her. Shw was a big part of this year's sellout. Headliners are the things that sell tickets.

Fri: punch dance out your rage at Dogleg, This is the Kit, James Murphy, Men I Trust/El Michels, the Japanese House, BRM>Phoebe, losing your mind at choosing between the pre-HL acts before ending up at Prydz, realizing that oh holy shit you actually ARE the world's biggest Iron Maiden fan the second they start ripping into Aces High or maybe a couple songs in after Bruce has changed outfits a couple times, thinking you're going to stay for all of Missy Elliott but wandering over to check out Bonobo before realizing that Refused is actually detonating That Tent and then letting Sigur Ros melt your mind in the wee .
Maiden is one of those bands that, were it to actually happen, a lot of folks would walk out saying “I had no interest in them going in, but holy shit that was fun.” They’re just completely over the top in a fun, campy way. Like if Spinal Tap was real. But they have some really solid tunes to back up their nonsense. I made Mrs. Meatball come to a show with me and walking in she was visibly angry with me that I couldn’t find literally anyone else to take her ticket. But she had a total blast. Bunch of long hairs running around in their own band’s tee shirts, ripping off guitar solos, and stage fighting skeletons and stuff. That’s just good clean fun.

Plus Odesza and Porter Robinson
And Khalid. That's thw only reason those 3 were booked.

Monie Tim Heidecker would probably have some comedy elements in his show, but he has an upcoming music album. Both singles so far feature Weyes Blood. We do have 1 comedy type act each day, but none would be strictly stand-up comedy, we wanted them to work on the existing bonnaroo stages.

My biggest nitpick is that yours is just way to expensive if you look at how other festival's undercards who booked RATM looked like. Them plus Metallica and Björk is massive. There's no doubt your festival would sell out but at what cost.

the Chemical Brothers are one of my favorite acts of all time, and last summer I finally got a chance to see them live for the first time. The show blew my mind and was a massive bucket list act for me. I saw Iron Maiden two days later and honestly forgot all about the Chems show. It was one of the best and most fun shows I've ever seen, hands down. Possibly a top-five all timer for me. Only way you're not going to have fun at Maiden is if you just don't like rock music, period.

also all the zoomers would get to wear Iron Maiden shirts to the show, rock shirts are very fashionable now.
Look at Russ Westbrook rockin the Maiden shirt and the Chunky Dunkys last week

Also I know Maiden has been on Paul T's list for Coachella for basically forever, but honestly I feel like they'd work better at Bonnaroo because you should probably have a beer in each hand when you watch them.

There's a reason they sell Maiden shirts at UO and shit.
That was mostly a nitpick but I'll explain what I meant. For the majority of Bonnaroo's history they never booked commercial pop or trap/party rappers unless they were critically acclaimed. I think Ellie Goulding 2015 was the first really commercial pop act they got. The years I went I was really into rap, and it was frustrating that a festival near the rap capital of the world (Atlanta) only booked Pitchfork approved rappers (unless they were white lol). I think they've started to break that mold, off the top of my head they got Gucci Mane, Future, and Young Thug (all like 5 years too late).
I'll admit I didn't know who Lil Tjay or Yungblud were, but after looking into them from your schedule they seem like dogshit terrible Soundcloud rap/pop that Bonnaroo wouldn't touch. In a game where you're trying to balanca realism and quality, those bookings seem to miss both marks for me. But again, mostly a nitpick and I gave you guys good scores. And I could be wrong about those acts.

You think Yungblud... is a rapper? Lil Tjay fits perfectly into the type of act Juice Wrld was though ofcourse smaller, without mainstream/worldwide succes yet and thus scheduled earlier. I feel like you are wrong about these acts actually, otherwise I wouldn't have commented on it as I respected other remarks you had about our line-up. What your opinion of them is, is ofcourse entirely up to you but I think 'dogshit terrible Soundcloud rap/pop' doesn't really apply to either of them.
edit: both Polo G and Lil Tjay were on the XXL cover this year aswell, which I guess says something. Right?

A few people have said our lineup looks like Coachella with Dead & Company
First I'll say, I've been to both and those festivals are much more alike than they are not. But here's some of the stuff we picked I don't think would play at coachella:
- Jeff Lynne's ELO (Only Bonnaroo or Jazz Fest would pull this off) - Tyler Childers (High billing and scheduling would only happen at Bonnaroo) - Tanya Tucker (country legend that made a guest appearance at Roo '19) - Oteil & Friends and Keller Williams would only play at Roo or jam festivals - Anthrax (Coach has some precedent with Motorhead but this is distinctly Bonnaroo in my opinion) - Random fun old acts (Devo, Violent Femmes, Jimmy Eat World, Kool & The Gang, Ashanti & Ja Rule, The Wailers) - An inordinate amount of folk rock acts in the same year: Ray Lamontagne, Fleet Foxes, Brittany Howard, Lucy Dacus, Whitney, Kevin Morby, Bedouine, Andy Shauf, Lady Lamb. - Wook EDM stuff (2 sets of Tipper, Eprom, Ekali) - Comedy (Flight of The Conchords, Eric Andre Show Live, Tim Heidecker, Zack Fox)

No. I think he's a pop act, I mentioned pop multiple times in my post.
I have seen people saying that they are unfamiliar with our Thursday so here is a playlist featuring those acts. If nothing else check it out to discover some new music because there is some great stuff there!
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Someone comnented on Sylvan Easo playing again without new material. Also you shouldn't be complaining about anyone that was on this year's lineup, because it didn't happen.

Problem here is the Juggs argument, that increasing the value of the festival shouldn't be a negative strike for realism. I honestly think all the feedback on ours has been constructive other than the less than 1 for realism. That one just seemed over the top.
Sidenote: I see Metallica as a legacy act, that plays metal and ballads, I know this is all about your perception -- but if you are a lay-away type fan who stayed Sunday, it's like hearing a classic act at this point. I understand we are heavy on the rock, but closing with Metallica is going to be a lot more playing the hits. It's not classic rock in the soft closer sense, I get that

When I mentioned Sylvan Esso wouldn't play again w/o new material I was talking about them playing in 2018, not their 2020 cancelled superjam. But that is good to know that they're going to have new material. Now do all the other acts on your lineup that are recent repeats.

If I'm not mistaken Metallica was also part of the 'classic rock'-playlist next to Nirvana and Pearl Jam so it's fine. I gave you 1/4 on the question if your festival is financially sustainable/how well it would sell and 4/4 on your headliners. Meaning, yes your headliners are realistic and would/could be booked but the combination of everything all together is not financially sustainable in my opinion. I think having a big hitter like RATM or Metallica is fine but two is a stretch imo. Metallica is a stadium act and if you see what RATM does to other festivals' line ups undercards then I don't think my grading on that is that far fetched.

Not going to fight over Odesza if my life owed me, but who else are you talking about on our list?
