Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Thurs: Son Lux--> ? --> Algiers--> Fontaines DC Fri: Sudan Archives--> De La Soul--> Houndmouth--> Sylvan Esso--> Black Coffee or end of Odesza--> Yaeji--> RAtM-->RTJ-->camp Sat: Sat: Bully--> Promartyr--> Nickel Creek--> Khruangbin-->pit for Bjork--> Thee Oh Sees--> Lizzo--> Porter Robinson--> Deafheaven Sun: Jill Scott--> Kelly Lee--> Little Dragon--> Polica--> Metallica (I guess, lol)
Quality: 7. I love that daytime run on Friday and would thoroughly enjoy myself all the way up through RTJ, but Saturday is sort of meh for me aside from Bjork, to be honest. Sunday has a few acts I’d be excited about, but Metallica does nothing for me. I think I actually liked this fest better before digging into my day by day runs—not entirely sure I’d travel to Roo for it, at the end of the day, though I think the quality is still high…just not super well aligned for my personal tastes once I break it down to what I’d actually see each day. Realism: 8. No glaring issues Total avg score: 7.5
katyperryofficial / slack
Thurs: honestly don't know anything up until The Hotelier/Ladies of LCD, so I'd do those and then Vegyn because cool name even if apparently he actually ISNT A VEGAN (lame) Fri: ?--> Wolf Alice--> San Fermin--> Bladee--> AG Cook--> Kimbra--> Janet?--> LCD--> Daphni Sat: PUP--> ?--> Washed Out--> The Districts--> Clairo--> ?--> FLips--> boycott Kanye maybe?--> Dan even though super weird on the Which--> Peggy Gou Sun: Frank Turner-->?? all the way up until--> Neon Indian--> Miley--> home
Quality: 4.5. OK, so your fixing of sched issues definitely helped! Thursday I don’t know much, but that’s fair. Friday would be a fun day…Saturday is NOT my speed, though, because even the things I would be pumped about like LN Dan and Peggy would end up being weird shows on the Which instead of being in tents, so, eh. Sunday has hardly anything for me. I think the schedule overall looks much better now, but this festival still doesn’t pull me in with the acts on it. Realism: 6. Again, schedule improvements helped here to make it less whacky. I don’t think Janet would play Roo, nor would Kanye again, and then bringing LCD back—folks have already commented on why that won’t happen. Your undercard is fine realism wise but the HLers are not. Total avg score: 5.25
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
At what cost though? That’s a huge part of your budget that you guys could have used to book EDM. I don’t see any EDM above Claude VonStroke.
the at what cost guy has more expensive #1 and #2 overall, has inexplicable choices for their #2s and #3s by day. biggest EDM name is pretty lights (a decade old project, that is essentially on hiatus)
who's your 2nd biggest get for 'cheese edm'? theres a big drop off in popular, accessible 'wook' or bro music. four tet? terje? WAR NYMPH?
I'd bet Claude is a bigger draw than all of them. didn't he headline a day at Movement? on top of playing Roo (w/ double duty) previously?
I do not have the same complaints about how you staffed the Other -- but I will say that there is not nearly enough setup time between these sets. One of the reasons the Other usually only has 15 minutes in between is because the setups aren't drastically different and get checked the day before or that morning with like systems. And that Santigold got a serious demotion from being a What Stage daytime to the Other early as all fuck. So my "complaints" are with that and not the necessity for EDM to dominate the stage if you don't so deem it.

Pretty Lights is the biggest get in the draft for wooks aside from Tipper. GRiZMATIK is our second biggest EDM name, and it appeals to the college aged kids. I agree CVS is a good pick here but you could have used one or two big name EDM acts instead of Kraftwerk and PJ Harvey, to make the lineup feel more Bonnaroo.
I don’t have a problem with Thom. He’s a pretty big spend and might not draw enough to the current Bonnaroo demo to justify his cost, but like you said he’s played ACL and whatnot. I think it becomes problematic when you add him to a bill with PJ Harvey, Kraftwerk, and Jamiroquai. That’s too many expensive, niche acts.
Kraftwerk is the only one I'd call a true stretch. Jamiroquai played Coachella in 2018 so I really don't see any reason they couldn't play Bonnaroo. They also played North Coast Music Festival that year, which doesn't command anywhere near the clout or scale of Bonnaroo. This site lists PJ Harvey's booking fee as between 20-50k, which I'd wager is well below what the 15th-billed act nets most years. For context, the 15th act in 2018 (the last year the lineup wasn't broken down by day) was Sylvan Esso, who command anywhere from $150-300k.

I was basing it more off the 2017 model that wasn't exclusively bullshit acts b2b2b. Only one act is really more setup than just decks though (Presets) and I did give them the most time between than the rest.
Was going to get into this if we advanced but if I'm gonna get a 3 on realism.
I already mentioned how I was scoring things and specifically mentioned that a score of three doesn't mean its rated at a three. I'm scoring based on comparison between the two lineups, so that score will change in each matchup.

I understand, just saying that setting up for a rapper is still a little more extensive than a 5 minute setup that's on the schedule

pretty lights hasn't released music in 6 years, pretty lights has less than a million Spotify spins, last time I saw him he did an entire set in analog. I just don't buy this line of thinking.
Grizmatik is also old and played out.
Speaking of the wooks you keep defending, where are your jam bands? Emancipator, theivery corp? Idk that that cuts it.

GRiZ is one of the biggest acts for college kids in the south.

I'm stealing Kanye's voting template, it's great, but I'll do numerical scores on the next round. Throwing in a quote on each lineup from my fiance, who is not a "music fan" but likes going to shows.
Thurs: Opry > bouncin' around > Fontaines D.C. (they're so good) Friday: Warren Haynes > De La Soul > SNBRN > Hot Since 82 > close enough to see Claypool at Primus > Rage > RTJ > Superjam if I'm still up, Pallbearer if I'm feeling frisky Saturday: Nickel Creek > Khruangbin > Clutch > Weezer > Lizzo > a weird LN where I like but don't love every act. Sunday: Basically nothing except Metallica :/
No single act is particularly unrealistic, but something about the whole combination seems off. Primus is 7 spots higher on their day than they were on the actual 2020 lineup, there's almost no mid-range alt rock (note: I'm gonna bring this up a lot through my votes, it's a huge part of Bonnaroo lineups and has been for a decade), having two metal headliners is unfortunately implausible, and the hip-hop is super old. Buuuuut, this lineup has a lot of acts I really like, especially sang's inclusion of hard rock, so I'd buy the hell out of a ticket. Kristin: Yes
Thurs: Why is Caamp opening a tent on Thursday? Dude is way bigger than that. Not much I'm familiar with this day, except CID and AC Slater. Friday: Warren G > Goth Babe (not on Who) > Jawny > Chic > Two Many Zoos > Chris Lake > Madonna > Kaytranada Saturday: Japandroids > Dirty Projectors > Valentino Khan > Phoenix > OOF CONFLICTS > Andy Paak > Grimes > Weeknd > G. Jones Sunday: This Tent except maybe a detour for Byrne or Purity Ring
What year is this supposed to be taking place in? It ain't 2021, that's for sure. I voted for this in seeding, but after looking at it in more depth, I'm not sure why. LNs are awful, why bother with the Who stage? Kristin: I don't really know a lot of the people on this poster
Thursday: nothing is doing it for me here Friday: I'll bounce around until Deftones, again until Ari > Oysterhead Saturday: Fratellis > Miami Horror > ? > Fatboy Slim > Virtual Self > Travis Scott > ? > Animal Collective Sunday: Hayley Williams > Grouplove> New Order > Paul McCartney
I decided not to take budget into account for my realism scores, and this looks pretty Bonnaroo to me. I just don't love that many acts, and the schedule has a frustrating amount of downtime for me. Great headliners though. Kristin: This sounds really young and would be fun with the girls
Thursday: yet another Thursday where I have no idea what to think Friday: Tom Misch (seems like a stretch for the Which but ok) > Tipper > Brittany Howard > Flume > Rihanna > Anthrax > Megan > Eprom > Tipper until I feel like bedtime Saturday: Keller Williams > Kool & The Gang > IDK > Toro y Moi > ELO > MCR > Soulwax > Cirez D > wherever my heart takes me, this LN is beautiful Sunday: not much for me? Pharell would be cool, so would Madeon, but I'm not convinced I wouldn't just leave Sunday morning.
Friday and Saturday have a lot for me, I'm a huge fan of your poster, and it feels pretty Bonnaroo to me. This lineup has its flaws, but I'm down.
Kristin: It feels like high school and I kind of like that (favorite so far)
Thursday: If only JPEGMAFIA and Animals as Leaders weren't conflicting. AAL shouldn't be on Thursday anyway. Friday: Pussy Riot > Tiger's Jaw > Mitski > ? > Dolly Parton > Troyboi (very briefly, if at all) > SOAD > SJ > Death Grips Saturday: Uncle Acid > Shiba San > Robert Plant > i wish i could say i cared about frank > Aphex Twin > The Avalanches Sunday: Spafford > ?? > Spoon > gtfo
You're lucky I was raised on late 90's hard rock, otherwise you'd be getting pretty close to nothing. If I lived in Nashville, I'd grab a single day ticket for Friday. Kristin: Friday is awesome, the rest is eh.
Thursday: Fred Armisen > Zomboy > Papadosio Friday: Jack Harlow > Alex G > Chicano Batman > GWN > Chrome Sparks > Knife Party > Tame Impala > Air > End of RL Grime > Jon Hopkins Saturday: The Front Bottoms > Party Favor > NERD > Jauz > Gesaffelstein > Lorde > Tchami > Danny Brown > MMJ or bed Sunday: Kurt Vile > Allison Krauss > Break Science > Miguel > STRFKR > Baauer > Bruce Springsteen
There's a lot of bucket list acts here for me, nice work. Beck as a co-headliner is pretty bad though, I don't see it at all. He's a fun show and all, but damn. Kristin: Yes
Thursday: Xie > Prospa > Goose Friday: Boris > IDLES > Clean Bandit > Battles > Joan Jett > Ty Dolla $ign > Carly Rae Jepsen > TNGHT > Future Islands > Cardi B > Disclosure > moe./Lane 8 depending on my mood Saturday: Iggy Pop > Leon Bridges > Joey Bada$$ > Sturgill Simpson > The Rapture > The Rolling Stones > Jamie xx > Dog Blood Sunday: Billy Strings > ?? > Schoolboy Q > Sia > Benny Benassi > The Cure
Friday would be fucking lit, there's a lot there that seems personally tailored to me. Saturday and Sunday have some quality acts for sure, but none are my personal favorites. I see what you were going for, and though I think The Cure would be a cool Sunday headliner, I wish there was a major modern alt-rock band there instead, to provide a little balance. If yall and Jaz/Fred swapped Sunday headliners, I think it would be a net improvement for both lineups. Kristin: There's a lot of things that would be cool, but nothing that gets me excited.
Thursday: Anamanaguchi > Herobust Friday: sleep in > shower> check out all the non-music stuff in Centeroo > Joji > Angel Olsen > BOCC > Seven Lions > Billie Eilish > Sufjan Stevens (sad to miss !!! but I'll survive) > Caribou > EWF Saturday: Against Me! > Phantogram > Stormzy or Poppy > Snarky Puppy > Salvatore Ganacci > The Raconteurs > Radiohead I guess > Bloody Beetroots > Rufus du Sol > Bicep Sunday: Cherry Glazerr > Ducky > Vince Staples > Kamasi Washington > Banks > Claypool Lennon > Paul Simon
Strongest set of headliners in the game, even though I'm not as over the moon for Radiohead as the rest of y'all are. I like a lot of your Other lineup, but something feels wrong about it. Maybe the lack of star power? Undercard has a few gems, but doesn't really do it for me. If the crew were all going, I'd be in, but I'm not putting the effort into getting the crew together. Kristin: I'm not sad enough for this one.
Thursday: I'd bounce around, there's a lot of fun stuff here. CL seems like an odd choice though Friday: Vagabon > Nancy Whang > Ben Folds > Yeah Yeah Yeahs > pit for Nine Inch Nails > M83 > Duran Duran > Big Gigantic Saturday: Sir Sly > Peelander-Z > Man Man > HEALTH > They Might Be Giants > Bob Moses > snaaaacks > Lupe Fiasco > Depeche Mode > Superjam > Massive Attack when I get bored > Umphrey's Sunday: black midi > Action Bronson > Willie Nelson > Gojira > Dropkick Murphys > Cut/Copy > Jack White
Definitely some really fun acts here, Sunday is conflict city though. Obviously not particularly realistic. Kristin: It's dated, but not in a throwback kind of way (ouch)
Thursday: dunno Friday: James Murphy > Ari Lennox > Phoebe Bridgers > Arctic Monkeys > Rosalia/Eric Prydz/pit for > Iron Maiden > Bonobo > HudMo > Sigur Ros Saturday: Mighty Mighty Bosstones > Jay Electronica > Simian Mobile Disco > Mura Masa > Taylor Swift > QOTSA > 2manyDJs > Nina Kraviz Sunday: Brockhampton > Dinosaur Jr. > Kylie Minogue > Blessed Madonna > Phish until I get bored
My 2nd favorite lineup on the poster, but the scheduling is super frustrating. Friday, all the good stuff for me is packed into not nearly enough time. Saturday, it sucks I gotta miss Duck Sauce and TVOTR. Your late nights are too stacked to my personal taste. That Mark Ronson/Kevin Parker set Sunday seems unrealistic yet cool, but I'm not missing Kylie for anything. Kristin: It's not blowing my socks off but it sounds fun.
Thursday: Schedule Friday: Set Saturday: To Sunday: Private
Pearl Jam is a negative on this lineup for me, in both realism and quality. They headlined the worst selling Bonnaroo of all time, and I can't see them coming back so soon. I would have liked Tyler/Florence as a co-head one day. Lineup leans pretty damn old, your highest billed EDM is what, Claude VonStroke? Yeah as fun as this lineup would be for me, gonna have to say it is not a 2021 Bonaroo at all. Kristin: I like this one a lot. Lionel Richie is like that time we saw Kool and the Gang at Busch Gardens.
Thursday: Muppets > Park Hye Jin Friday: dunno > FIDLAR > Herbie Hancock > Kendrick Lamar > Todd Terje > Four Tet Saturday: Jack Stauber > Bloc Party > Royal Blood > Goldlink > Doja Cat > The Chicks > Car Seat Headrest > Kacey Musgraves > Grizmatik Sunday: Amtrac > Mac DeMarco > PtM > Petit Biscuit > Roger Waters
It's not a Bonnaroo lineup, or a fest I would really want to go to. Sure there's some cool gets, but I'm not paying $400 for this, and neither will anyone in the general ticket buying audience. Kristin: There are elements of this I really like, but I don't think they're well put together. It's a little odd, right?
Thursday: Scarypoolparty > Leikeli47 > beabadoobee > Ana Tijoux > Orville Peck > Two Feet > Dopapod > Charlotte de Witte (way too many big names for a modern Thursday, but I'm a fan) Friday: Mr. Bungle > Diesel > The Head and the Heart > BABYMETAL > SVDDEN DEATH > Dua Lipa > pit for Skrillex > Fever Ray Saturday: Mexican Institute of Sound > Dominic Fike > RJD2 > Diana Ross/Camelphat > Cage the Elephant > Jay-Z > Justice > Zeds Dead Sunday: Gov't Mule > Abigail Washburn and Bela Fleck > Jhene Aiko > Nora en Pure > Fleetwood Mac
Honestly not sure why y'all are getting roasted so hard, I love this lineup. There's some real weird quirks with the billing, but the schedule keeps me pretty busy every single day, which is more than I can say for almost anyone else. Kristin: Between Dua Lipa, Skrillex, and BABYMETAL, I'm already sold and it's just Friday. (she raved about this one way more than any other)
Thursday: ?? Friday: Tanya Tagaq > Still Woozy > Cherub > TLC > Ludacris (exact same slot as 2012? I loved it then, I'll probably love it now) > Harry Styles > Childish Gambino > King Gizz > SJ or Flux Saturday: ?? > SOFI TUKKER > MMW > Modestep > Beach House > Lady Gaga > Girl Talk > Flying Lotus Sunday: Watsky> EOB > Pusha T > alt-J > The xx > Tenacious D > Arcade Fire
Some really good stuff here, even if there is a massive hole on Saturday for me. Girl Talk/Kaskade is a really silly conflict. Kristin: I think they have a jam packed and exciting lineup but Sunday is not chill enough

Thurs: Charlotte Lawrence--> Olivia O'Brien--> Faye Webster--> ?--> maybe Twiddle Friday: Alvvays--> Snail Mail--> CHIC--> Earl Sweatshirt--> St Vincent--> Bon Iver--> Madonna--> Garrix I guess? Saturday: K Flay--> Dirty Projectors--> Little Simz--> Phoenix--> UMO--> Anderson Paak--> Grimes--> the Weeknd--> Prince celebration Sunday: Tegan and Sara--> Sheryl?--> Sharon VE--> Gary Clark--> Courtney Barnett--> David Byrne--> Empire of the Sun--> Gilmour
Quality: 8. Earl to St Vincent to Bon Iver is a dope run, and even though I don't really see Madonna doing Roo, I imagine she puts on a great show. Saturday run from Phoenix through until the Prince celebration after the Weeknd (great transition) is awesome. And then Sunday is stacked too...not very realistic, no, but if it actually happened, would make for a killer Sunday at Roo. Realism: 6. Your Thursday is too big with names like Olivia O'Brian & SG Lewis, not to mention things like Twiddle that shouldn't be on Thursday. Madonna + Byrne + Gilmour....if you'd gone with one of these, not all three, then I wouldn't knock so much realism from ya. Overall avg: 7.
KingJTR
Thurs: don't know much of anything on here...would definitely go to Rocky Horror tho, love that pick. Friday: Dr Dog--> Parcels--> Lily Allen--> serpentwithfeet--> Deftones--> Mount Kimbie--> Pixies--> Ari--> Big Boi--> not big on Galantis or Lettuce, eh Saturday: The World is a Beautiful Place--> US Girls--> Miami Horror--> Tennis--> Foxing--> King Krule--> The Internet--> Death Cab--> Virtual Self--> Travis Scott--> Robyn--> Hannah Diamond--> AnCo Sunday: Sunflower Bean--> Zella Day--> Michael K--> Hayley W--> The Kills--> Lianne La Havas--> LDR-->New Order--> Paul
Quality: 7.5 Friday going from Mount Kimbie to Pixies to Ari would be a fun run, then things sorta drop off for me. That Saturday is great and PACKED, but it doesn't really Roo-y. Robyn to Hannah Diamon LN, nah (though would be dope if ever happened); I like AnCo but wish you'd put something else in that end of Saturday LN spot. Realism: 5.5 It is too big. I think Ari/Travis/Paul are all realistic HLers...but not together. Too. Big. Don't think LDR would come back to Roo as a sub. Things like that LN run of Robyn to Hannah Diamond would be kickass but not realistic, IMO. Overall avg: 6.5.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I was basing it more off the 2017 model that wasn't exclusively bullshit acts b2b2b. Only one act is really more setup than just decks though (Presets) and I did give them the most time between than the rest.
I understand, just saying that setting up for a rapper is still a little more extensive than a 5 minute setup that's on the schedule
def something to consider, though I did want to have a few quasi b2b sets without having them be b2b collab sets, 12th/BTSM, Lucii/Phlip, my Burners.
Really wanted Primo/Quest like that but couldn't make it work where they didn't overlap Lionel, who questlove has said was his favorite show of all time
wait didnt we say deadline was 6pm today, not noon? Or am i late? Ugh ok just to be safe...I'll come back to finish explanations later but:
DRAGON ENERGY / whereispassionpit Todd / Jake Jortles {this was the closest match up in terms of who to give the win to, aside from maybe JTR/King vs. Danny/GoCats
Pepe Silvia / Nathan Fielder fearandparanoia / money / problem dog
Chandler Bing / Rummy VieuxCareen / cdevaney
Theo / Teddy Flair Delicious Meatball Sub / Larry Farnsworth
Capn Jim “Mad Dog” Mattis / Cap’n Mac Silver Surfer / true vine

I'm stealing Kanye's voting template, it's great, but I'll do numerical scores on the next round. Throwing in a quote on each lineup from my fiance, who is not a "music fan" but likes going to shows.
should be public now!
Thursday: Bouncing around between everything, looks pretty fun. Why is Psychadelic Porn Crumpets' set so short? Friday: Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard > Local Natives > Sleigh Bells > Santigold > Rodrigo y Gabriela > slowthai > Tyler > Tears for Fears > Tool > Kraftwerk > Converge Saturday: Built to Spill > of Montreal > Wavves > Cashmere Cat > Florence > Gorillaz (your biggest EDM name conflicts with Gorillaz LOL) > Jamiroquai > Honey Dijon Sunday: Giraffage > Dweezil Zappa > Perfume Genius > Anna Lunoe > Kali Uchis > Explosions in the Sky > Panda Bear > Thom Yorke > Actress > absolutely not Pearl Jam
idk, it's a weird schedule. You still get my vote this round, because unlike Jesus, I actually have something to do most of the time.

what? she was a sub this year before it got cancelled
I thought she was co headlining?
Sorry if I'm just on drugs and am wrong here haha. Maybe it is just the way it feels/looks to have her up on a poster with Ari, Travis and Paul...three such BIG names, then throwing her on as a sub. But I take back that specific comment, sorry

did you originally put this as a tie or originally vote for truevine/ss and are switching now?

original vote for Julie -- and to answer the question
Thursday for me is filled with acts I don't know yet, and it ends up being Celeste vs Phony PPL.. Thus why I excluded it.
I am going to dig through actual acts I don't know for the 2nd round.
