tЯist♡n and I made a setlist for the vision of our Ladies Night Superjam.
The idea for this started with wanting Jorja Smith doing Amy Winehouse songs backed by The Dap Kings who were her backing for Back In Black and her touring band for a bit. We also wanted Esperanza Spalding involved since she's a bass virtuoso and crazy creative. Eventually it evolved into what you see below, a superjam with some of the badass women in our lineup and star free agents covering female-led bangers:
Superjam: Ladies Night! (backed by Esperanza Spalding & The Dap Kings)
Beyonce – “Run The World (Girls)” (Jorja Smith & Esperanza Spalding) Destiny’s Child – “Soldier” (Jorja Smith, Esperanza Spalding, Kelly Rowland) Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings – “How Long Do I Have To Wait For You?” (Snoh Aalegra) Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings – “This Land Is Your Land” (Esperanza Spalding) Amy Winehouse – “Rehab” (Jorja Smith) Lilly Allen – “Smile” (Jorja Smith) Nina Simone – “Sinnerman” (Brittany Howard vocals, Caroline Polachek keys) Aretha Franklin – “Son of a Preacher Man” (Brittany Howard) Selena – “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” (Natalia Lafourcade) Gloria Estefan – “Conga” (Natalia Lafourcade) Chaka Kahn – “I’m Every Woman” (Ashanti) Whitney Houston – “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” (Ashanti) Jefferson Airplane – “Somebody To Love” (surprise guest Kim Gordon) Heart – “Barracuda” (Kim Gordon) Kate Bush – “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” (Caroline Polachek) ABBA – “Gimme Gimme Gimme! (A man after midnight)” (Caroline Polachek) Britney Spears – “Womanizer” (Rina Sawayama) Fergie – “London Bridge” (Rina Sawayama as Fergie, Eric Andre as the guy that keeps yelling "Oh Shit!") Missy Elliot – “Bomb Intro/Pass That Dutch” (surprise guest Rico Nasty) Nicky Minaj – “Stupid Hoe” (Rico Nasty) Madonna – “Vogue” (Charli XCX) Cher – “Believe” (Charli XCX) Janet Jackson – “All For You” (Nelly Furtado) Kylie Minogue – “Can’t Get You Out of my Head” (Nelly Furtado) Aaliyah – “Are You That Somebody” (Ciara) Mariah Carey – “Fantasy” (Ciara) Blondie – “One Way or Another” (Gwen Stefani) Patti Smith – “Gloria: In Excelsis Deo” (Gwen Stefani) Spice Girls – “Wannabe” (Charli XCX as Ginger Spice, Caroline Polachek as Sporty Spice, Rico Nasty as Scary Spice, Snoh Aalegra as Posh Spice, Rina Sawayama as Baby Spice) Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya, Lil Kim – “Lady Marmalade” (Brittany Howard as Christina, Jorja Smith as Pink, Esperanza Spalding as Mya, and surprise guest Megan Thee Stallion as Lil Kim)
Hey Monie btw we took your advice and moved the above superjam to close the tent. Now everyone can catch Bad Bunny and the SJ

Realistically, 20% of even some of the best lineups are going to be trash. Day for Night booked some trash. Coachella books some trash. I think I'll vote in this round now that there aren't so many schedules to look at. I'm probably not going to give bonus points for trash but it definitely is realistic. If a lineup has a ton of conflicts I might consider that unrealistic. Roo is really make or break with the schedule these days.
Son Lux > Nick Hakim > ? > Algiers > Fontaines > ANNA
Nilufer Yanya > Sudan Archives > Fruit Bats > Warren Hayes > De la Soul > Fatima Yamaha > 2 Chainz > Jay Rock > Black Coffee > Primus > RATM > RTJ > Pallbearer
Oddisee > Glassjaw > Blue & Exile > Protomartyr > Khruangbin > Yellow Days > Common > Bjork > Oh Sees > Lizzo > Seinfield > Chromatics
Allman Betts > DJ Tennis > The Roots > Breakbot > Nightmares on Wax > Metallica

The Free Nationals > Hiatus Kaiyote > Michael Kiwanuka > Femi Kuti > ? > ? > Bright Eyes > New Order > Macca
While KingJames has a few things I would reallt want to see, SangDeto gives me a full schedule with more things I would be excited for. I also prefer their headliners.
Chaos in the CBD > ? > ? > DJ Boring > Tommy Cash > Wand
Tinariwen > Cuco > Jacques Green > Tom Misch > Metronomy > Devo > Gorgon City > ? > Anthrax > Charli XCX
Gum > ? > DJ Python > Kool & the Gang > Caroline Polachek > Toro y Moi > ELO > Amelie Lens > MCR > Soulwax > Cirez D > Boys Noize
Helado Negro > The Wailers > Andy Shauf > Mall Grab > Moon Boots > Pharrell > Jorja Smith > Dead and Co
Bulls
Jockstrap > Alexadra Savior > Minami Deustch > Death Valley Girls > Alaskalaska > Jubilee > Sam Gellaitry > Northeast Party House > Prospa > Kai Whiston
Amadou & Mariam > IDLES > Code Orange > Battles > Romare > Busy P b2b Myd > TNGHT > Iggy Pop > Cardi B > Disclosure > Kevin Abstract > Lane 8
Jeff Goldblum > Wold Parade > Labrinth > Jamila Woods > Photay > Flo Milli > Roosevelt > Maribou State > The Rapture > The Rolling Stones > Jamie xx > DJ Koze > Dog Blood
Baaba Maal > Charlotte Day Wilson > DJDS > Gigamesh > The Breeders > Bakermat > Jonsi > Sia > Interpol > The Cure
I would have considered voting for the former over almost everyone else in the draft. I am a huge mark for ELO and there's some really cool things sprinkled throughout (some less believable than others). I am more into our headliners and late nights. Soulwax is the high point for DragonPit's late night and I would be all for it, but they are the least believable of the bunch. I wouldn't be excited for any headliner at all - though that mostly comes down to taste.
Arlo Parks > Inhaler > Empress Of > The Underachievers > Stormzy > Moses Sumney > Snarky Puppy > ? > ? > Radiohead > Rufus > Bicep
? > Yelle > Cherry Glazerr > ? > Baths > Vince Staples > Kamasi Washington > ? > ? > Paul Simon
Frazzle
Blue Hawaii > ? > ? > Omar Apollo > ? > ? > Channel Tres > Octo Otca b2b Eris Drew
Jade Bird > James Murphy > Floorplan > Giorgio Moroder > Popcaan > Eric Prydz > Iron Maiden > Missy Elliot > Sigur Ros
Operators > The Beths > Mighty Mighty Bosstones > Jay Electronica > SMD > Hot Chip > ? > Queens of the Stone Age > 2manydjs > Superjam
Caspian > SOB x RBE > Jimmy Cliff > Lapsley > Stephen Malkmus > Georgia > Mark Ronson v Kevin Parker > Day of the Dead > Phish
I like Rumbing's headliners more as a whole, but I would be most excited for Maiden overall here. Frazzle's Thursday is kind of bare to me and Friday would just keep me at The Other all day which I wouldn't prefer. It's also packed with Other acts who probably wouldn't play, but some really good ones none the less. RumBing has some acts I would love to see, but my favorite ones of the group have seemed to be around more often in recent years. Meanwhile that Saturday of Jay > SMD > Hot Chip - and more importantly - QOTSA > 2manydjs is too good to pass up.
? > Guerrilla Toss > ? > ? > SASAMI > Psychedelic Porn Crumpets > TEED > ? > MIKE
Inter Arma > ? > Local Natives > Santigold > Wajatta > Slowthai > Warpaint > Tyler > Danny Elfman > Tool > Kraftwerk > Tortoise
Built to Spill > Titus Andronicus > of Montreal > Patti Smith > Dungen > Denzel Curry > The Black Angels > Gorillaz > Jamiroquai > Honey Dijon
? > Kae Temptest > Sinkane > Perfume Genius > Jurassic 5 > The Presets > EITS > Panda Bear > Thom Yorke > Actress > Moon Duo > Pearl Jam
JazFred
Anna Meredith > ? > Chai > Sorry > Nothing > Confidence Man > Atlin Gun > Tourist > Cordae
LA Witch > Still Woozy > Drive-By Truckers > Cold Cave > A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie > Belle and Sebastian > Years & Years > Jesus and Mary Chain > ? > Thundercat > King Gizz > ?
Shame > ? > tUnE-yArDs > Mo > The Revolution > ? > Broken Social Scene > FKA Twigs > Beach House > Lady Gaga > Slowdive > Flying Lotus
? > Cate Le Bon > Aldous Harding > Johnny Marr > Big Thief > Com Truise > alt-j > The xx > SURVIVE > ?
Upon reviewing JazFred's Thursday lineup, I was certain that they would dominate this round for me because it's the best opening day of anyone imo. Friday (while plenty to see) fell off big time though once I started building a schedule. I'm not really into the headliners and late nights are just kind of alright. It's lacking electronic music in a big way, for my taste at least. Perhaps that should increase the realism score. I ended up going with Cap'n though because they have acts that would get me more excited like The Presets and Jamiroquai, plus I actually like all of their headliners.
Chaos in the CBD > ? > ? > DJ Boring > Tommy Cash > Wand
Obviously don't expect to influence your vote, but there's some good stuff in your Thursday gap you should check out
Sessa: check him out if you like Bossa Nova/Brazilian music. His debut Grandeza has been a weekend morning staple for me
Katie Pruitt: very pleasant pop/indie country, check her out if you like Kacey Musgraves
Pottery: New art-punk band from Canada with heavy Talking heads influence. Their album Welcome To Bobby's Motel has been on steady rotation for me.
Jerry Paper: Really fun psych pop singer, probably my favorite of the various bedroom-pop acts that keep popping up. His music videos are wild/funny, definitely worth checking out.
EDIT: also, before Chaos in the CBD
Ric Wilson: Up and coming rapper/singer from Chicago. He released They Called Me Disco EP with Terrace Martin this year, it's a lot of fun.
Frente Cumbiero: Cumbia artist/DJ that collaborates with various world music acts
SECOND ROUND MATCHUPS You must vote for all matchups.
sang / deto - Quality 9 Realism 8 (might be my favorite, have to revisit scheduling if they make it to next round) King T / JamesTheRam - Quality 6 Realism 7 (I'd be running around a lot here - that Saturday is kind of weak for me)
DRAGON ENERGY / whereispassionpit - Quality 7 Realism 8 (Decent, I'd go) fearandparanoia / emoney / problem dog - Quality 9 Realism 8 (Hello Cure! Perfect headliner for the next Bonnaroo)
Chandler Bing / Rummy - Quality 8 Realism 8 (I'd skip Thursday and Friday late night looks weird, but Sat and Sun are pretty hot) Delicious Meatball Sub / Larry Farnsworth - Quality 8 Realism 9 (nice Thursday, good jazz adds and mix of genres all around)
Capn Jim “Mad Dog” Mattis / Cap’n Mac - Quality 7 Realism 7 (the more I look at this one the more I want to dock for realism, but it's got a lot of quality) Jaz / Fred -Quality 6 Realism 7 (The return of Arcade Fire! *yawn*)

As much as I like the Bulls lineup, gonna give my thoughts about why mine is better.
Headliners: Rihanna, My Chemical Romance, Dead & Co vs The Rolling Stones, The Cure, Cardi B - I think Rihanna and Rolling Stones cancel each other out here, Rihanna is better imo just for being more relevant/current, but I won't deny Stones are an amazing #1. My Chemical Romance is a better #2 than The Cure. The Cure feels unnecessary at #2 with another legacy act as your #1. MCR is a huge reunion that instantly sold out their US arena tour. Most of those shows didn't get to happen so one of their first large scale shows back being at Bonnaroo would be a massive get. Cardi B is great but would be repeating Bonnaroo two years in a row - going from sub to headline, I dont think that makes a lot of sense. Dead & Co is a return of one of the most important bands to Bonnaroo's history and hits on the jam roots of the festival. I think this all points to our headliners being more realistic and also selling more tickets.
Subs: Flume, Megan Thee Stallion, ELO, Bad Bunny, Pharrell, Fleet Foxes vs Halsey, Disclosure, Sturgill Simpson, Leon Bridges, Sia, ScHoolboy Q: Our only act here that is a repeat Bonnaroo act is Flume(2017). The Bulls repeats are Halsey(2016), Disclosure(2014), Sturgill Simpson(2018), Leon Bridges(2016) - We purposely targeted subs that made sense for Bonnaroo to book, but weren't repeats of the same acts Bonnaroo always books. Quality is hard to judge based on people's different taste, but I think all acts here are at least pretty good on both sides, the main difference quality wise for me is that Megan and Bad Bunny are probably the two biggest blowup artists of the last year. I think our subs sell more tickets.
I can talk about more stuff on both lineups, but I think HL and Subs are probably the most important things for this draft.

Idk if this helps but based on some of this schedule and the thoughts I get of your taste, you should like;
Melii (thursday) - upcoming r&b/rap in the same vain of Cardi, Megan Thee Stallion etc Brutus (thursday) - post hardcore from Belgium Julia Jacklin (friday) - friendly indie pop/singer songwriter to start of the day Mahalia (friday) - contemporary r&b from the UK singer in the same vain of Jorja Smith, Amber Mark and Ama Lou Destroyer? (friday) - no Destroyer fan? YOB (friday) - some really exciting sludge/doom metal (their album from 2018 was v solid) Superjam for John Prine/Raconteurs? (saturday) KAINA (sunday) - pop/r&b artist from Chicago Marika Hackman (sunday) - really nice and endearing indie/folk no fan of Solange, TWOD, Claypool Lennon Delirium? Shallou might be a cool alternative tho

Both of our festivals sell out. We built schedule paths for both Stones fans and Cardi fans, plenty to support both acts, so I don't see why the third headliner really matters that much.
I don't really want to get into a realism rock fight over the Other, because I actually agree with how DE has defended their lower billed DJs. None of them are expensive or highly billed, same for us. I think Dragon Pit probably did book a bit more weird Other acts than us, but they also have two sets of Tipper, so I consider it a wash.
Cardi B is a fantastic headliner for 2021 and tЯist♡n knows it. The "two Bonnaroos in a row thing" is a cheat because of the gap year. I fully expect to see Cardi headlining lineups once we have festivals again, and many of those festivals will be places she played in 2018 and 2019.

There are also 2 headliners from 2019 still in the game and a 2019 sub returning in the exact same position. Cardi has had great career momentum since she played, WAP is huge, seems like a lock to release more material for next summer....I think bringing her back as promotion makes more sense than straight up repeat acts in repeat spots.
The whole repeating acts was never really an issue and if it was then it should've been voiced better that people did have an issue with it and perhaps specified in the rules/voting that you are taking a risk if you are picking a repeat act. Now using that as some sort of argument as to why a line up or even a headliner is inferior, is kinda weak imo.

I did say Cardi is great and I've talked about Phish and Gambino being weird to repeat as well. In the end I think all six headliners in our matchup are great headliners in a vacuum, so I had to nitpick other stuff with them. A headliner playing two years in a row is extremely weird for any festivals and two legacy acts is also kinda weird compared to three headliners with more variety.
And I dont really have an issue with any of the acts I talked about being unrealistic on your lineup, was just using them as an example since we're up against you and Julie and Bing continued to bring up four small DJs on our lineup being a huge problem even though every lineup has similar acts (todd terje, bicep, jubilee, etc).
MCR is such a get that Goldenvoice told them to keep their money and stay at home. I don't think there is any issue with either of our lineups selling out, but to say that MCR is more of a get than The Cure is kinda wild.

The entire point of the game is making a realistic Bonnaroo lineup for 2021. Why would repeating acts from 2019, the last bonnaroo to have taken place, not have an effect on that? To me it's one of the most objective ways you can view "realism".

With the context of you already having a great legacy act as your #1.

people were saying it all draft. Phish fell to Rnd 16.

I started off counting off for it last rd. But a few lineups in I got tired of checking to see who played in the last 2 years.

Then perhaps some sort of prop should've been set up idk. Phish fell in the same way Coldplay or Pearl Jam 'fell'; everyone had their headliner set in place.

right but people avoided phish likely due to repeat.

You're kinda underplaying your whole Other line up if you really think it's just "four small dj's" lol.

Jubilee plays hip-hop and Miami bass, and is actually U.S. based. She’s way more likely than Special Request and Palms Trax.

Could be aswell yeah. We heavily debated them in like round 5/6 or so tbh.
