Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Love the idea that the wooks who still listen to pretty lights are young and hip. Taking up your precious mind came out in like 2008? 10?
Coming up on classic rock territory bud.
Roger? Kacey isnt exactly zoomer exclusive. My 6 yr old sister and 50 yr old parents went to the same show I did separately. Lmao MBV is a bad horror movie to kids. Ptm also an old band. D'Angelo? Lmao HERBIE!!!! it's not like you really leaned into it.
Weird flex.
Kendrick, Grizmatik, Doja, Dicky, Young Thug, Mac DeMarco, Ella Mai
Zoomers might like Kendrick but he's not exactly a zoomer act. Same with Young Thug and Mac DeMarco.

Coming from someone who had Paul Simon, I think 4th, in the first Roo Draft, I think he's probably really not that much of a draw when it comes down to it. Looks great on a lineup, probably costs a lot of money, but probably doesn't motivate too many ticket sales. But he'd probably be the thing people remember most from the festival, too. An interesting buy from a business perspective, almost like you're buying returning customers/nostalgia for the festival. Any quality show is like that, really. I guess that's why the Aphex Twin pick doesn't really bother me on its own. If he melted enough people's brains, people would be talking about it ten years down the line.
It looks like I wouldn't have an issue arguing that our lineup is better than Passion / DE's. Not really much of a question. My work life has been thrown for a whirl here though, and I'm not sure I'll find the time to argue the realism bullshit, especially given the amount of bias I'd have to fight through due to us keeping Aphex Twin. A couple people pointed out that our lineup isn't relevant enough or that it's too old. I think that is a great criticism and I agree with it and would do some things differently to correct for that if I had the opportunity to do it over again. The criticism that Frank and Aphex would never play Bonnaroo is everything that was wrong with this game. You actually have to be brave to vote for our lineup because of the cloud of bullshit that has nothing to do with the quality of the lineup surrounding it. Glad we tried a new format, but hammering home the definition and goal of the game before starting was imperative even if it would have taken 150 pages to reach a consensus.
Yep, this nails it. It's one thing for people to have differences in opinion on the actual music. That's the whole reason why different fests exist and appeal to distinctly different groups of people. But with every person having a vastly different opinion on what is "real", this becomes nearly impossible to judge.

Pepe Silvia / Nathan Fielder fearandparanoia / money / problem dog HLs: i like the balls of keeping E street on there after not having it there to begin with and after people came to some kind of understanding that they weren't actually eligible. stones/cure just recently saw, cardi/cure, what is this acl 2019? jokes aside, these headliners are miles better for me, would be most excited about seeing cure again over stones, cardi would be fun. just saw tame (acl19), beck in 18, lorde in 17, and don't have any real interest in revisting. bruce would be cool. Dennis Rodmans. Subs: halsey/sia/sturgill does nothing for me. wu/mmj is also sort of underwhelming. GJ isn't happening. push. SJ: Banned Ole Opry might be my favorite Jam idea of all the ideas (outside my own) of al the drafts. seriously love the amount of thought that seemed to go into it, very bummed about JET there, but hey, add some songs to the setlist and celebrate him. i already did a Portlandia Super Jam, I also had Aimee Man and I drafted Andrew Bird and called it 'PUT A BIRD ON IT', so i can't give you any creativity points. Dennis Rodmans. UC: the Rodmans definitely get this for me. More overall i'd be into catching. Realism: a lot to digest here. Rolling Stones seem like a pipe dream, if they skipped a Nashville stadium show to do Bonnaroo, they would need to seriously adjust their situation. Jazz fest is a huge, consistent, festival and they completely changed their ticketing/scheduling to fit the stones. which probably doesn't even happen if the band didn't have such a hard on for the history of New Orleans music. the desert trip costs + that make it seem like Roo is completely out of the question. Halsey is also a huge 4, Sia at 5, big big names. this lineup costs a ton. but it moves tickets. annnd Grace/Arca. push.
*this took hours to do and i finally finished so, some of my takes might be dated alreaddy
im just confused why you seeing Tame Beck and Lorde at completely different fests / shows in the past few years really matters at all in the context of this game? and your Portlandia superjam didn't even have Carrie, so i don't think you can even call that a Portlandia superjam. also, never saw any conversation on the eligibility of the E Street band once in this game.

The same blogs that told me to like MBV told me to like Aphex Twin. Has that changed in the past fifteen years? Do the youth hate electronic music these days or something?

it effects whether I'd want to see them again? Tame will be playing the exact same show I saw last October. Which was only marginally different than their show in 2016. Nothing Beck has done since 2018 has me excited to see him again. Same w Lorde in 17, nothing new, not really a huge fan, so it's not big for me.
The portlandia thing was mostly a joke, but I definitely like their SJ more regardless.
It was in the thread and then I quoted it after your poster drop.
