Wow that brings me back. I went to the first 3 years. First year was in Asbury Park. still have the set list from Motion City Soundtrack’s set. Saw Saosin in The Stone Pony. Helped people crowd surf in the holding line for the main venue during Dashboard Confessional.
Ah, the good ol’ scene kid days.
Edit: my concept of time is bad. I went in 05, 06, and 07. Looking at the 05 lineup made me sad because I missed These Arms Are Snakes.
I say Paramore is a lock on there for 2023. Theyll have like Machine Gun Kelly, Jack Harlow and Yungblud on that thing though. They dont need to go mega pop stars on there when theyve got some Bamboozle and Warped Tour alums who are still around and fit the mold. Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember, Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, AFI, Blink 182, Good Charlotte. If Linkin Park was still around they would get them.
This all makes sense, and is great news for the Jersey live music scene. The site on the Asbury Park Beach is the same as used by Sea.Hear.Now in 2018 and 2019, which seems to have been a success and was growing.
SHN caters to an older rock crowd, and Bamboozle would likely appeal to a younger set. I could see the two fests happening on consecutive weekends, using the same facilities- if the promoters can work together.

Asbury Park would be cool. Only con was getting locked out of sets because of capacity limits at the indoor venues. I preferred it there over the Meadowlands parking lot. The years at Meadowlands were so unbearably hot because we’re just standing on blacktop the whole time and there was NOWHERE to hide from the sun.
This will be similar to the Warped Tour that happened in AC. Probably a lot of legacy bands to serve a demographic that has aged out of the concert scene. Otherwise, it won't be able to differentiate itself from the other general interest fests that happen in the area. The current version of Blink 182 would be perfect for this.
I really hope this isnt back at Asbury Park. Meadowlands is rough on your feet but transportation wise its the most convenient.
Same here. I was living in the village at the time and dragging back and forth on NJ Transit to Asbury Park was BRUTAL. I'm not sure where that image is taken but the Meadowlands parking lot would really be perfect for this if they want to keep it in NJ.
Cause theyre assholes and want you to think theyre booking Drake. The dates at least indicate its post Coachella and align with other May fests for availability.

If they're really gonna start promoting this thing 2 years in advance they better not fuck up this lineup.
I'm gonna assume that the headliners will be Bamboozle alums like Paramore, My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy (maybe doing a full album set of Take This To Your Grave for the 20th anniversary). Would be awesome if the undercard was full of bands from the NJ/NY aughts scene, like TBS, Thursday, Saves the Day, Armor for Sleep, Senses Fail, Early November, Starting Line, etc.
Probably wishful thinking. Knowing them they're gonna book like MGK and Post Malone as headliners with something stupid like Journey as the third headliner to try and seem witty.

Urgh I'm terrible at embedding links, but the above link to a recent update John D (Bamboozle's organizer) made to Facebook. Basically he sounds extremely salty about When We Were Young stealing Bamboozle's thunder haha
But I am optimistic that he says they already booked 3 reunions, and are working on a fourth. Who we thinking? Midtown? The Academy Is? Something Corporate?
He also says the lineup will resemble their previous lineups from 2010-2012. So looking back at those, it was certainly a mix of good and bad lol.
