Ice Spice has been removed from the poster, but in their Instagram comments they're saying she's still performing. Huh?
Also they are insinuating that Yellowcard is going to be announced as a lineup addition soon. If they're being honest, then why the hell are they waiting so long to announce a big draw? And if they're lying in an effort to sell more tickets, well that would be fucked up but also very on brand.
The Acacia Strain, Angel Du$t, Fiddlehead, Gideon, Glitterer and Turnover is actually kind of an appealing lineup for Friday.. If day tickets were like $50-$80 I'd be there for that day.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
Organizer just posted an absurd letter on social media, blaming cancel culture for all the negative reactions to the fest and that "people seem to forget this festival never had headliners." Then said that a final lineup announcement is coming this week, while also hinting that these additions are just gonna be all the artists that were pulled originally (Trippie, A Boogie, Ice Spice, Joeybadass, etc). Also claims radius clauses are why the lineup isnt fully out. I call bullshit, who the hell would book headliners who they cant announce until 8 weeks before the showday?
Is it wrong how much I'm enjoying this mess?
Nope, keep laughing.
Full post. It was hidden in their attempt at starting an online forum.
Bamboozle...
Sorry for the silence, but as we have been finishing this year's bill, we have had to honor a few radius clauses before we are able to roll out these next artists. Those radiuses expired this weekend.
Later this week, we will unveil more of our 2023 lineup. There will be no advance notice. We are just gonna drop it, but the media will be given a few hours notice.
This lineup is very stacked in hip hop, pop, rock, alternative, metal, emo and hardcore. It's very deep and well balanced over the three days. Each genre has their own stage and every artist will be playing FULL sets. The site has come together and we are so excited for this roll out.
Some artists in this announcement were leaked with our last announcement, so they will return to the ad mat along with some really amazing acts we were so lucky to add along the way. We purposely rolled out backwards as we believe that's the best way to curate this event moving forward. Everything we have done, has been calculated and on point. (Well, except the first ad mat). Additionally, we have used the same time table for announcements as we have in the past.
This week we will reveal our daily lineups. Single day, VIP, and weekend tickets will be available. There will NOT be a price jump. We will also be rolling out a new website and ticketing options. We are going to launch a fun rewards program for fans to get free tickets, VIP Upgrades, meet & greets, merch and some other really exciting prize packages.
It's not where you start, it's where you finish. I guess some people are too young to remember Warped Tour, Bamboozle, and early Riot Fests. These events were never built on headliners. We catered to a scene that is now long forgotten, but will be reborn. One year at a time!!!
As I have said since day one, Bamboozle Festival is the headliner. We are following our traditions, to the core. From announcements, lineup, festival site, attractions and our fan interactions - we are BAMBOOZLE.
This next announcement will introduce us to a whole new audience and generation. While we will celebrate our roots and traditions, these new fans are the ones who will move the Bamboozle Festival forward, so it's not a one-and-done.
Our success will not be measured this year. We understood coming back, 10 years later, our plan would be different. And when there is difference, there is change and some folks are just afraid of change. And in this climate, cancel culture and "boo birds" sometimes lose track of what their real focus issue is.
We are a damn festival, created for those who love music and are here to continue the mission of artist development and creative content. Bamboozle was known for developing our headliners from within, from small stages to the main stages. Bands used events like Bamboozle, Warped Tour and other festivals within the scene to get exposure, play in front of new fans and most importantly, networking....
I'd say 75% of our fans don't even know what the Bamboozle Festival is today. That will change within the next two weeks, as the buzz grows. These same "boozlebies" (newbies) will most likely run the haters right off the site and our socials. If the haters or doubters think I care, sorry you picked the wrong CEO. I stand with my artists and I love the Bamboozle Festival. Love is stronger then hate.
We didn't come back to big, overpriced talent...We came back to rebuild a scene and culture, where music fans can come to check out some of their favorite acts, but also be exposed to new music and talent.
We love all our fans, even the ones who throw hate and disappointment. We are about inclusion but understand that our lineup may not be for everyone. While we are sad some of you won't be joining us in Atlantic City, we hope you visit other amazing festivals and great events. Hopefully, our paths will cross again and we can continue to support great talent and music together.
I thank each and every one of you for the support and patience. I promise you - This is going to be a party, celebration, and resurrection of the legendary Bamboozle Festival.
Our lineup is stacked. It may not be top heavy, but it is well balanced with something for every type of music fan. Our closers are all playing sold out arena tours....
We are about to have some fun.....let the games begin!
Much love.
John D.
This makes a lot more sense when you read it in Scott Adams’ voice
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

This thing really took a turn…
So an IG account popped up that was keeping record of all the broken promises and shady activity around this festival.
Now the owner of the fest has doxxed the person behind the IG account (possibly the wrong person) and is sending them messages threatening to shut down their street and throw a pre-fest party in front of their house. They’re threatening lawsuits against them and are saying they will have to answer to the fans of the fest? Ummm what?

The owner of the fest is also going after ticketholders in the comments who are asking legitimate questions. He's calling them losers and jackasses.
For that IG account keeping track of all the lies, he emailed him saying he's bringing a lawsuit against him that's gonna ruin his and his family's lives. I left a comment basically saying hey don't worry about his empty threats I'm a lawyer and there's absolutely no merit to these lawsuit claims.....well the Bamboozle owner then wrote to me questioning my law degree and that he could teach me a thing or two about law hahaha
The dude is really unhinged, the screenshots I've been seeing of these doxxing threats give me Kanye level vibes of crazy.

This is all so weird.
So do you have a link to this or a good way to find it?

This is the IG account. They also say they have a surprise after Scammy The Clown does their thing tomorrow.

The podcast interview is going off the rails, looks like they actually already deleted it less than an hour after dropping it. He again threatened to doxx the IG account holder and said he planned on inviting festival attendees to harass them. He then said a bunch of wild stuff including...
- Coachella lineup wouldn't sell on the East Coast - Rips on Adjacent fest, says it's not a contemporary fest and aimed at 30-40yos - Claims to have next years headliners booked - Blamed the crypto crash on lack of tickets being sold - Claimed to have given Drake and Kesha their success because he booked them way back - Claims Bamboozle is the east coasts biggest hip hop fest

He acknowledges in the beginning that Ice Spice dropped off the lineup, and then later in the podcast pats himself on the back for having such a great booking like Ice Spice on his lineup.

I hope somebody recorded that ramble.
Kesha played warped tooso I dont know what he is talking about. He thinks it was like Katy Perry at Warped in 07? Lol
So John D is the George Santos of festival organizers.

He attributes Drake and Kesha's success to playing Bamboozle and how he took a chance on them. In case anyone needs any clarity, Kesha playing Bamboozle in 2010. In 2009, her single Tic Tok went to number 1 on the US charts, and ended up going 8x Platinum. She had two more Top 10 singles from that album come out well before playing the fest. As for Drake, his single Best I Ever Had was already platinum and #2 on the charts before being booked for Bamboozle in 2009. He tries to make it sound like Drake was a no name underground artist at the time and he took a chance on booking him. That George Santos comparison is spot on haha
