We've only recently jumped on board the Ted Lasso train, but it really is good. Still on season one, episode seven I think. My partner is slightly annoyed that it is basically the plot of Major League, but Jason Sudeikis makes you forgive the writers for that.

Watched the first season over the last couple days. Glad I'm not the only one who picked up on how much it lifted from Major League. Agreed that the show is good enough to forgive that though.

Does NBC/Universal own the rights to Major League? There’s part of the opening credits that says “based on an existing concept by NBC/Universal” or something along those lines. Might be it?

The story I heard is that Jason Sudeikis was looking for a new project and his then partner, Oliva Wilde suggested developing Ted Tasso as a show cause it was one of her favorite characters of his. So he made the show for his baby momma.
All the rom-com references with the Roy plot line were perfect. Teaching Nate self confidence was amazing. The drama when Ted and Rebecca realize they are are chatting with each other will be great.
