Buku made a post yesterday on IG that they were coming back, dropped dates and mentioned the lineup would be dropping soon. I wonder how they feel about Tame announcing they are headlining before Buku did.
Lineup Drops tomorrow per Instagram and Twitter. You usually get about 85-90% of it with some mid-upper additions after Christmas. For bands, I want Chon, Polyphia and Animals as Leaders. If I can get one of them, I'll be happy with that and Tame.
I was looking at Planet B and 2020 lineups to see which of the mid or undercard acts I might have wanted to see on the lineup tomorrow. But things change for lots of artists (especially in rap) where Megan Thee Stallion was like #9 in 2020 and would have been a headliner at Planet B. So I'm throwing that idea out the window and just picking 5 or so off the mid or lower card for each of those lineups that got cancelled.
And I'll take Tyler as a co-headliner with Tame Impala.
From 2020: JPEGMAFIA, Pussy Riot, CloZee, Gramatik, Goldlink, Flatbush Zombies
From Planet B: Jamie XX, Earthgang, Slowthai (if even possible)
Rezz was playing in one of the videos mentioning the lineup announcement tomorrow, so that means she'll probably be there. No big needle move either way as I can take or leave her (was good last time I saw her, not so much previous iterations).
they really said fuck it and booked the entire tour package for Tylers spring tour lmaoo. wonder who Tames opener will be considering theyre prob here too

If it's the same day and based on the lineup released so far, Glass Animals maybe? They usually release a few more upper acts in January or February.
Belgium right? I think I ran across her on something a while ago - kind of dreamy? Anyway, now that I've looked harder at the stuff not in color, there's a lot of house but particularly there's lots of women running shit.

amelie is techno, what i call "main stage" techno. still dark but also a little groovy and easier on the ears than the super weird and/or industrial type techno.

This wasn’t heavily on my radar but I’ve actually been looking at tour tickets for Tyler the creator and glass animals so to knock them off here is pretty great for me. I don’t really do EDM but some hip hop I really like here such Maxo Kream, Vince Staples, and Bas. Plus Tame is always great and really liked taking back Sunday growing up and never got to see them. I could enjoy this more then I’m sure the average Buku attendee.

I'll probably stop in and see her. I just got back from lunch, but since I did know many (but not all) of the acts, I had done a synopsis of "types" of music. They need to add a couple more bands for sure to even things out.
This is what I have which is certainly open to interpretation or revision.
* Tyler the Creator - Rap 100 Gecs - Their own thing (avant-garde) * $UICIDEBOY$ - Rap * Allison Wonderland - EDM (Pop, Mixed Genres) A Hundred Drums - EDM (Dubstep) Amelie Lens - EDM (Techno/Dream) Bas - Rap Baby Keem - Rap CHEE b2b Tsuruda EDM - (Chee works with Moody Good, don't know TSURUDA) Dom Dolla - EDM (House) Flo Milli - Rap Foushee - Singer/Producer GLBL WRMNG - Rap Glass Animals - Band (Indie Pop) J. Worra - EDM (House) * Tame Impala - Band (Rock/Dreamscape) Lane 8 - EDM (Deep House) John Summit - EDM (Tech House) * Kali Uchis - Singer/Rapper Kenny Hoopla - Singer/Rapper Kumarion b2b Reaper - EDM (Bass, Drum and Bass) Maxo Kream - Rap * Liquid Stranger - EDM (Experimental Bass) * Mersiv - EDM - (Freeform, Mixed Genres) Moore Kismet - EDM (Dubstep) Neno Calvin - Singer (pop) * Porter Robinson - EDM (Synthpop, Elecro-House, etc.) * Rezz - EDM (Techno, Bass) Sullivan King - EDM (Hybrid House, Metal, Industrial) Shygirl - Rapper/Singer SVDDEN Death - EDM (Wook Bass) Taking Back Sunday - Band (Rock/Emo) Teezo Touchdown - Rap * Tierra Whack - Rap, R&B, Soul Trippie Redd - Rap * Troyboi - EDM (Grime, Dub, Pop) TSHA - EDM (Pop, Groove) Tsu Nami - EDM (Big Room but on the harder side & kinda rules out of the ATL) * TVBOO - EDM (Lots of different stuff mixed) * Vince Staples - Rap Wreckno - EDM (also a rapper, LGBTQ+)
Also note on the poster the crown left in between Bas and Chee b2b Tsuruda is an homage to Charlesthefirst
I am waiting on the additions, but I am liking what I am seeing so far. Fingers crossed it is good and I can swing it.
I’m with you, we got tame tickets for Asheville and that takes the luster off of the Tame booking a bit. My gf and bff like the lineup but probably only going to be able to swing one or two festies this year so gotta hold out for the right one. But it’s got a solid start, more my speed than my gf and bff
Yeah. They usually aren’t cheap though. If they are on track with the 2 days, maybe they won’t. But I figure they’ll have some because it’s lucrative.
I need to post the Top 10 I was working on last week but forgot. New to me (listening) is Atlanta’s Tsu Nami who I plan to see barring conflicts. I liked some of A Hundred Drums that I listened to as well.
Edit- Early thinking Top 10 (pre-adds):
1. Tame Impala 2. Vince Staples 3. Tyler the Creator 4. Liquid Stranger 5. Glass Animals 6. CloZee 7. TroyBoi 8. Chee b2b Tsuruda 9. Tsu Nami T. Sullivan King (not the giantest fan, but since I need some headbanging at Buku)
If omicron can peak in a few weeks, we may have a break for a couple months like we did before delta and after delta. I’m ready to get this shit rolling. On the flip side, I haven’t been living on credit lately due to too many shows and too much drinking and tipping at shows. Buku usually announces the rest of the lineup after the early festivals announce. It would be great to see RTJ on the list. They’ve never not done adds but it always varies how many and as to what tier.

Yeah I am curious what Cantrell is going to do with this wave.
I think the cat is out of the bag so to say. football and basketball and shit are going on, and you need to be vaccinated to go or eat anywhere though checking can be spotty at some places. My friend who knows the lead booking lady introduced me to her once and I demanded a clue. Haha. She said ‘a.’ I thanked her but sure enough A Day to Remember was on that lineup and surprisingly kinda ruled. I need a little jam thrown in be in Sunsquabi or Papadosio or EITS or whatever and maybe a better rock band than Taking Back Sunday which may end up being better live than what I’m expecting from them.
I’ll be looking for a Liquid Stranger/Wakaan takeover for one of the overnight shows.
By Day Poster is out. I've been so slammed at work that I forgot to check today. So now that I have about 3 minutes, let me see excluding local acts that I'll catch a few of I'm sure
Friday: Tame Impala, Liquid Stranger, CloZee, Bas, Chee b2b Tsuruda, Kumarion b2b Reaper, 100 Gecs, A Hundred Drums, SHYGIRL, Tierra Whack, Troyboi, Wreckno
Saturday: Vince Staples, Tyler the Creator, Glass Animals, Amelie Lens, Baby Keem, Flo Milli, GLBL WRMNG (local but bigger), Kali Uchis, Maxo Kream, Mersiv, Moore Kismet, Sullivan King, Tsu Nami, Teezo Touchdown (maybe)
No chance of seeing all those each day, but I'm kind of happy with the opportunity to see some shit I've loved or liked in the past and a few new acts that are liable to get bigger later on.
