Ok thats promising. If they are that close then yes, 3 weeks sounds about right. That gives them a 3 month lead up which is decent. At least people wont be waiting to decide on if the lineup is good enough or not if it was phased. If theres a flurry of acts announcing tours and coming through in late sept with a gap then thatll be pretty telling.
So which band names should we start throwing around.
speaking of that... hey Murso74 did we ever figure out what the fake rumor you were going to spread was?
Well someone mocked death grips, who I thought disbanded, to which I got down voted with the response of "they're online"which... Well.. duh? So dunno, let's say death grips zoom show, a "start making sense" 3 hour talking heads marathon(I just saw them so this and it was actually awesome) and a PWR BTTM apology tour with the Orwells?
I liked the Mars Volta rumor. Juans been playing the bass again and it's not too far for him to travel. Maybe bring him out for a song or two and then announce a new bass player...
Seeeeee?! I told y'all there was nothing to stress about. It was good of Phil to hop on Reddit though to ease their concerns, considering peeps in there have been worrying and freaking out for several weeks.
Anyways, it would truly be amazing if Chemical Bros. end up at headlining. If they are there and we end up with Bjork and Take Impala too, then we may have King Gizz sub-headlining and/or 2 billed headliners on one day.
anyone else find it interesting how we're throwing around so many electronic/dance names this year? chem bros, jamie xx, four tet, bonobo, floating points, etc. there's basically no precedence for daze booking this stuff but seems like a lot of people would be down for it. flying lotus is the closest thing i can think of but still not quite dance music like these other artists typically play.

We've gotten electronic but it's always late night and weird. As it should be

If DD got Aphex Twin nobody would think it was out of the ordinary. So yeah, RDJ is coming to Perris.
what do you think it took for coachella to get aphex twin? or when he randomly played that texas fest in 2016? i can't imagine the kind of offers he's turned down over the years but if DD is anywhere near being able to make a reasonable pitch, i hope phil gives it a shot every year.
i've seen aphex mentioned in past years as wishlist act, but i just mean i think this is the first year i've seen people ask for all these electronic (and really more dance oriented electronic) acts. getting chemical brothers to headline along with booking other names like jamie xx and nic jaar could help grow the fest by introducing it to a new crowd. maybe need a couple more acts to really move the needle with all the other fest competition in CA.
