Ok so with Roo shitting the bed I think I'm really gonna make an effort for this. Is the thinking that the lineup will be 2019-sized or 2021-sized?
Tame doing Lonerism, Gizz, and Portishead or MBV would be an absolutely killer top 3 for me.
My wishlist beyond that:
The Smile Big Thief Pond Wednesday Goat Girl Sam Evian Amyl and the Sniffers Nala Sinephro Black Country New Road Thundercat Liz Cooper Emma-Jean Thackray Little Simz Sons of Kemet L'Rain Babe Rainbow U.S. Girls (if they're active) Badge Epoch Juliana Hatfield Ryley Walker Mildlife Durand Jones and The Indications KOKOROKO Shannon Lay
It's already been said that it's going to be pre pandemic size, in lineup and scale. And being the 10th anniversary I'd expect they're going to try and make it special. I'm guessing that's what the presale was about
Just saw the roo lineup... I'd probably go to that for free and spend a bunch of time at camp drinking.
I rewatched the King Gizz Coachella 2017 webcast last weekend and it got me thinking how much I'd love it if they played Nonagon Infinity all the way through at Daze.

It will be interesting to see their setlists for the normal shows once they start touring since they have their Marathon sets nestled in with the rest. I'll be at all their California stops in April and hopefully see them at DD, I have tickets to the Berkley Marathon but will probably have to sell them and I have tickets to the Red Rocks Marathon too.

That would be dope, but I imagine they would play more of their recent material that they haven't been able to play much (if at all) yet. *Unless* Daze has King Gizz play multiple sets, then we could see a lot or all of Nonagon.
Would love the top of the bill to look something like this...If half of this pans out, I'll be on cloud 9:
Tame Impala – Portishead – Smashing Pumpkins/Kyuss
St. Vincent – King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard – Little Simz – Bonobo
Sharon Van Etten – Big Thief – Spiritualized – Brian Jonestown Massacre – Warpaint – Osees

With SVE touring with angel Olson, I'd hope we get them both
They may very well be, but if for example the fest gets those top 3, then King Gizz would most likely be a sub-headliner (or billed as a 4th Headliner).

Sure, your order makes sense, but Gizz just seem the most likely to be there. And our little babies are all growns up and would probably headline.
Any reason to think Portishead is actually in play for this?
Dd likes teasing and earlier last year they were commenting on how we should all get some Portishead merch that had just be released. If you want to go deeper than that, Beak> are at Primavera 2 weeks prior so you have one member already stateside and in the area. Wouldnt seem to be an insane stretch if they all got together after that to rehearse and perform if that was the actual case.

Yeah, basically what supre stated. It's plausible, but nothing concrete has been revealed that they would be there. It's just a wishlist act based on the fact that there is a possibility.
And yes, King Gizz did previously headline this festival. They also were a sub-headliner prior to that. More than likely they would remain a headliner for Daze if they do play in '22, but that'll be based on how BIG Phil/Daze goes for their 10th Edition.
Portishead would be amazing, and would probably singlehandedly get me there, but I just don't see it happening. Beth doesn't seem to have any interest in playing shows these days. I can't see them rehearsing for a one-off in another country, and there are no rumblings of a full tour or new album.

Coachella was a one off with one warm up show in 2008 for the U.S. I had friends in other states not go because they figured it was an automatic tour, til it took another 3 years for them to come back. Sure the new album helped with that but its not that weird for a festival to put all their eggs in a collective basket.

Coachella has a lot more money to throw around than Desert Daze.

Tool Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Herbie Hancock - Puscifer - The War On Drugs - Japanese Breakfast - Sons of Kemet - All Them Witches - The Weather Station - Nothing
Pulled some of the Bonnaroo names I could see playing Desert Daze. Would you be excited about a lineup that looked kinda like this? I know Tool is probably too big

That would be an easy skip for me despite liking almost all of the bands listed

Both Japanese Bfast and War on Drugs just played last year, so no, they won't be in play.
And yeah, I don't see Tool playing Daze. They've never really had a band with that sound play the fest, and I don't see them going in that direction any time soon.
Nothing is out, because they are playing Picnic, and Phil already said there wouldn't be any crossover.
So yeah, other than King Gizz and perhaps All Them Witches, nope.
2 GA with camping bundles purchased! the early bird price is a steal and makes the cost of camping a little easier on the purse. now I just need to get a vehicle pass when they go on sale.
TANP -> PSLA -> Daze is going to be a fun few weeks.
Catching up on this thread, just added DD to the top of my "festivals to attend in 2022" list after Roo's lineup today.
