From what I’m reading we have to drive to the box office, park, get out and show them our tickets to get our wristbands. Then drive from there to the camping entrance, get our cars searched and then we can get in and set up our camp.
This might change my plans and I’ll try to get there early because this sounds like a clusterfuck.

Can you really not enter through Via Del Lago this year? In the email from Sep 22 they had a map that doesn't show Via Del Lago as an option, but it also says November 12-14 2021 on it.

Honestly I done get this whole thing... Where do we go after the fairgrounds?

If you don't enter through Via Del Lago there is another entrance at the southwest of the park via Lake Perris Drive that passes by the fairgrounds. If you keep driving it you will hit the grounds.
I suspect they're splitting up the entry process to prevent bottlenecking in the entrance. I remember 2018 being a clusterfuck for some folks getting in. No idea what 2019 was like though.
pretty sure the only entrance is the main one on lake perris drive. i don't think via del lago has been an option since 2018. maybe 2019 but not last year.

Was definitely there last year I used it every day.
I guess it doesn't matter they can't just shut it down since it's a public park anyway.
my bad i thought i remember them saying that entrance will be closed which is why i didn't do it again in 19. the park will be closed to public though: www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=651

Did they look at the shit I had to do at Glastonbury back in June and said hold the damn beer? So fucking dumb. Saturday morning is going to be an absolute mess for all the Tame Impala kids trying for rail.
You will only have to park and walk up to the box office if you need to buy tickets on the day of show.
If you purchased tickets in advance you will not have to leave your car and will be processed in lane.
There is temporary parking adjacent to the box office. The Fairgrounds parking lot is huge and will allow our team to process everyone and get you into the show faster. It will be much more efficient than using Lake Perris drive to process every vehicle. Once you are processed, you will drive into Lake Perris via the Perris entry kiosk and then you’ll be directed to park

Thank god! Maybe this is to avoid any ticking issues that may come up at the fairgrounds and not when there’s a long ass line of cars on the road waiting to be searched behind you? Or maybe they’re doing the ticketing and searching of the cars at the fairgrounds and then we drive straight into the camping area?
Anyways it’s nice that we don’t have to park and get out of our vehicles to get the wristbands.
Well I was thinking about driving by thurs night to get that taken care of because of the mess. Now maybe not. Although looks like i might be driving in solo friday and have to fork over for parking :/

Will there really be more than, say, a couple dozen "Tame Impala kids trying for rail" Saturday morning?

This is good to hear. I was thinking we'd drive in and get our bands, then go back to our hotel and take an Uber in, but this sounds like it shouldn't be too bad. I'll tell our Uber driver I'll give them a good tip if the line is slow.

There will be a lot. There's a bunch of Tame fans on the discord who are gonna camp out but the consensus is that you can get real close to the rail if you just go early for the band before them. So we'll see.

I hope there aren't a bunch of Tame fans chatting during Kikagaku Moyo
