Anyone else see Jeff Bezos walking around? I walked right by him near in GA near the Sonora one afternoon this year. I looked at him, stared for maybe 3 seconds, and was like......."nah, there's no way in hell that's him". I only now am realizing it was indeed him.

The fact that no one threw anything at him or at least spat on him is incredibly disappointing... I know guillotines are hard to make in a pinch, but at least do something.
Funnier that people knew DiCaprio wearing a full face covering was videoed while dancing to MGMT and Bezos walked around scott free cause nobody thought he would dare. Im sure if it was Elon he wouldve gotten a spicy pie thrown at him.

I was just thinking that I've been to this festival four times and in those times I've been able to see New Order, Aphex Twin, Fatboy Slim, The Chemical Brothers, and Underworld
Very fair and informed take. I wish they talked about him playing Nikes/Nights thru the aux though because IMO that was the most egregious crime. If he had just performed those instead and lit the fireworks at the Nights beat switch the crowd's tension would have finally let loose. That moment never came though
if you didn’t like caribou either it sounds like you just don’t like good electronic shows which is okay!
I LOVE Caribou's studio albums but his live show was just a lil too much for me; I kinda got overwhelmed with how loud the drone noises got.
But anyways, I think I'm going to drive out for Movement's 3rd day to catch Skrillex / Bonobo / Kaskade Redux / DJ Seinfield and this time I'm going to make seeing all of Underworld my priority. Do you have any recs for others on the bill that day I should maybe check out?
I have no idea what you are into but Soundmurderer for your jungle vibes (this is a super rare booking, only other time I've seen him on a lineup was playing after Aphex Twin in NYC last tour). Sara Landry and SPFDJ for your hard techno. Logic1000 is just fun as shit. FJAAK for techno. If you have not seen Stephan Bodzin Live I'd give it a drive by but he bores me after a while.

Didn't Billboard or Variety say that GV paid for the ice rink and was scrambling to find some use for it to justify the price? That's the only thing that stuck out as wrong to me. If true, he maybe paid the skaters but pocketed a ton of cash.
Was there ever any explanation for why Skillrex/Fred/Four Tet was billed as TBA? Was it originally not confirmed, then they just ran with the TBA thing, or something else?

The plausible speculation that I've heard is that they (or at least Skrillex and Four Tet) are booked to play Hard Summer and it's a radius clause thing preventing them from putting their actual names on the Coachella billing. Whether Hard Summer or something else, some sort of contractual obstacle seems likely.

Gv and Hard are on good terms so it likely was a mutual agreement to let it be that way and have the artists just hype it up.

Feels a bit late for a rundown of Weekend 2, but fuck it. What a fantastic Coachella it was, what a fucking weird weekend it was. I already posted about the friend cheating on his fiance, her finding out about it at our house, all of this coming out Friday morning, etc. Revelations about that kept pouring in throughout the weekend, and we seemed to never really get a break from it all. Only after the weekend was done did I discover that Every One has free therapists on site, which: my goodness, what a great idea that I can't believe I had no idea about despite being a nerd on the message boards and reddit with 16 coachella's under my belt.
But again: despite periodic tears, and the periodic risk of meltdowns, it was a phenomenal coachella. We just danced ourselves clean. Just to highlight a few things:
1. After being unable to enjoy much of anything the first half of Friday, everything from Wet Leg's scream through Blondie through that fantastic Gorillaz set through that excellent Chemical Brothers set really saved things. Really gave us hope for the rest of the weekend. Probably my third favorite of the three Chems sets I've seen for whatever reason, but those guys just don't miss, and after dragging 8 of my friends who had no intention of going, I was thrilled that they all walked out calling it perhaps the set of the weekend.
2. Saturday was just "you do you" perfection for me. Dinner Party is exactly what I want to watch in the shade at 4pm on a hot day. I've never really gotten Charli XCX's music, but as a performer, fucking undeniable. I admitted to myself that while "Cannonball" is amazing, the Breeders are not my thing, and headed over to Remi Wolf with my sister; such great charisma, reminds me a bit of a rock Lizzo. No regrets.
3. Squeezed in 25 minutes of Diljit Dosanjh after, the only show I caught at the Sahara, and it exceeded my already high expectations. Also some of the most joy I saw on The Fiance's face all weekend, which was wonderful (she thought I was just taking her to see a DJ). Eventually a friend who speaks Hindi joined us, and I was delighted to learn one of the things he told the crowd was: "MY SHOW IS AWESOME. I'M SORRY YOU HAVE TO SEE A BUNCH OF BORING SHOWS AFTER THIS, BUT AT LEAST YOU GET MY AWESOME SHOW."
4. Got back for Jai Paul, which also exceeded my expectations. Solid stage presence, amazing voice, fantastic band, killer crowd. Str8 Outta Mumbai was the song of the weekend. Underworld: as good as advertised, and way better than the videos I'd watched in the past. Eric Prydz: disappointment of the weekend. Labrinth: I've used a lot of pixels on this already, but what a shitshow, and wild to get so close to what Beatlemania must have been with Zendaya.
5. Sunday was a relatively chill day, but I really do have to call out both Blink and PHM. I looked at both as "ah, I guess that's cool for people who like that." I have actively, almost stupidly proudly disliked Blink and Skrillex for most of the time they've been acts. I'm not sure I'd have planned on seeing more than half of either if they were at 6pm on Friday. I loved them both, so much. Blink was exactly the singalong you want it to be where you shut your brain off and give in to the nostalgia; PHM honestly kind of blew my mind, just very refreshing seeing a more stripped down EDM show like that, with such a tremendous crowd, operating so perfectly in sync.
Top 5, in schedule order because ranking is impossible: * Gorillaz * Chems * Diljit Dosanjh * Jai Paul * PHM
Saturday > Sunday > Friday
If my wife is not pregnant and/or has not recently given birth, see y'all next year, red Pizza Planet hat in tow.

Great recommendations; I have never heard of Soundmurderer, but sounds right up my alley.
I'm also strongly considering going up to Detroit to catch another Underworld show. I'd second the names rhefter said and include LSDXOXO (killed me at Sustain-Release back in 2019).
