Pet Shop Boys is someone I’m secretly excited to see. Years and years ago, I used to work with a dude who blasted Pet Shop Boys before we opened up shop. He’d sing and dance till 6 am when we unlocked the doors to wait on customers. It wasn’t my go-to but it made him happy. He was one of the first people I thought of when I saw the lineup.
I’m not gonna be riding the rail or anything but I’ll definitely be there singing and dancing and twirling.
Ironically enough, I was dating a girl who was obsessed with Depeche Mode at the time.
OFFICIAL RELEASE! We communicate with great sadness to the music lovers who have been part of this great family for all these years, that given the refusal of the Council of Sant Adrià de Bes grans to grant us the licences of activity, and given the impossibility d to have gotten another location with the ideal conditions to make the celebration of the festival possible, this year the BBF will not take place. During the 7 years of the Festival we have not generated any problems or altercation in the community, and we have always respected all the safety rules, as well as the natural environment of the beach. Great world-famous artists have passed over the years, such as Avicii, David Guetta, Steve Angello, Marshmello, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Alesso, Axwell & Ingrosso, Chainsmokers, Armin Van Buuren, Lost Frequencies, Kygo, Robin Schul z, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Timmy Trumpet, Don Diablo, Oliver Heldens, W&W, DJ Snake and many more, making the BBF a global benchmark. All the BBF team are working to select a new location and as soon as we have it we will let you know. In 2024, we'll be spreading smiles again, wherever, so music never stops joining us to celebrate life! Long live dancing and being happy!!! We love you guys!
All the Coachella beer garden talk got me thinking, as a VIP I can buy beer in the VIP area but walk around in GA after, right?
I know there’s no beer garden but curious about this. I’ve been to some festivals that made you stay there and some that would only let you buy 1 at a time.

Bought two most times I went to the bar because lines could be long and the cups were small. I think you should be fine going in and out of VIP, wasn't an issue.

Oh and would anyone be interested in a tapas tour before the Wednesday night pre-party? I was gonna look for one but got to thinking it might be a better alternative than brunch.

yeah brunch doesn’t really work for Primavera, if you’re awake in time for brunch you’re doing the fest wrong

I pretty much never adjusted my sleep schedule from EST haha

Agreed. I should have said “meet up” but so used to typing “brunch” which isn’t really a thing there.
I’m looking for a schedule but can’t find when those shows kicked off. I’m assuming between 7 and 8. Anyone remember?

Big recommend BierCab for a meetup. Great imported draft selection and really good small bites. It's like five or six blocks from Placa de Catalunya, for reference. I don't think there are a ton of places where you can get much beer variety/stuff that isn't Estrella. Certainly not the festival.
I have a friend that is going that has an extra bed in his room if anyone is still looking. He was hoping that his brother would go, but he is a no go. Let me known if anyone is interested.

Her new musical endeavor, Avalon Emerson & The Charm, is an intensely personal-and yes, pop-leaning-statement of intent from an artist who has long looked beyond the club for inspiration. It's also the first time that Emerson has put herself, her emotions and, most notably, her voice fully into the spotlight.
While The Charm is still very much Emerson's vision, it's something she sees as an ongoing, ever-shifting collaboration. Onstage, it means performing live with her wife Hunter Lombard and life-long friend Keivon Hobeheidar - for now. Indeed, The Charm has no fixed roster and no fixed rules; it's a vehicle for expression and connection, with Emerson at the helm.
Opening this chapter with soft-focus dream-pop track "Sandrail Silhouette," Avalon explains: "To me this song is about scale. Scales of time and how something that seemed so important and defining a long time ago, might not really matter that much now. And then taking a step back and feeling the smallness of your own lifetime in the shadow of a thousand year old tree. In that way it's also about the here and now and not sleeping through the erosion of time."
There's always been a pop undercurrent to her work, but taking a break from the road provided Emerson with an opportunity to explore it more thoroughly. Her cover of The Magnetic Fields' "Long-Forgotten Fairytale," which opened her acclaimed 2020 DJ-Kicks mix, provided a preview of that inclination-and also introduced the world to her singing voice-but with Avalon Emerson & The Charm, she has stepped away from the DJ booth altogether, venturing into an intimate garden of wooly synths and personal lyrics informed by her love of avant-pop auteurs.
Where she goes next is anyone's guess, but that uncertainty, and that freedom of vision, is what makes her such a uniquely compelling artist.

I was bragging on booking dot com earlier and had my first cancellation by them ever today. Apparently the hotel is closing in Madrid.
They rebooked us in a hotel like 5 minutes away next to Puerta del Sol though. It’s a cheaper room but no jacuzzi. On a positive note I’m a three minute walk from both Sala El Sol and the Wurlitzer Ballroom AND there’s a Dunkin’ in between.
