- No Sant Adria BITS but relocating the stages. - Swans, Boris, Cale, Anderson in the Auditori (which makes me believe it’s a Gira solo show). - Madrid will have a version of the Auditori. - VIP will move back
I think Boris will probably lean heavy into the post rock stuff which was why I was hoping for Auditori. They mostly played really thrashy stuff and then closed with Farewell as an encore when I saw them. The singer was behind the kit for the encore after being a frontman for most or all of the main set, with a hired gun drummer. I hope it's a whole set like that encore. Would fit the space.
Cale in Auditori was expected probably but is a nice confirmation.

There’s also the possibility of pulling a Low and doing double duty.
ticketing for the auditori is interesting, takes away an advantage of vip though. if they are reducing capacity this stage might be feasible again.hopefully they work out a solution for the soundbleed from boiler room to pitchfork stages as well

They did this to me when I went. I did a few shows in there but the ones I remember “reserving” was Jeff Mangum and Big Star. I feel like it was 2€ to reserve and there was no waiting.

I did the same when I saw Suede in 2016 and had VIP. Worked out well
I’m an interview they confirmed the Bits stages are getting moved to the main venue and they’re using auditori (swans, John Cale, Laurie Anderson, Boris, etc)
Officially in for this one. Any top 2-3 line artists really can’t miss? Prob the NA in me but outside Kendrick, Turnstile & TWOD I know very little. Or people like Calvin, Halsey, Keem who I just don’t care for.

Darkside, Four Tet, FKA Twigs, Sparks, NxWorries are the names I’m most excited for in that range

Rosalía and FKA Twigs are my biggest draws.
Rosalía is a hometown show and I expect insanity to ensue.
Darkside is a pretty rare get for people this side of the Atlantic. Don’t skip that either.

What genres are you mostly into? The strong point of the fest seems to be Hip-hop. Central Cee, Loyle Carner, Drain Gang, Pusha T. Rema,Tokischa,Trueno, Jpegmafia, Death Grips. Definitely a wide range of styles and international flavor.
Besides that, Le Tigre, Darkside, Fka Twigs and Red Velvet are worth checking out.
I tend to lean indie or EDM in festival setting. Catching Kendrick and Pusha will probably be enough rap for me. I’m quite curious about Blur and Depeche Mode. Neither seem big in NA. Worth the billing? Good live?

I saw Depeche Mode a few times but that was 20+ years ago. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to and I really wasn’t a fan at the time. Blur I haven’t seen and feels like a fucking travesty at this point.
I’d also suggest checking out Le Tigre even if it’s just to hear “Deception”. It’ll be a party for sure.
Just remember to check out those smaller stages and the names towards the bottom of the poster. There’s where the magic happens. So stoked I get another John Talabot set at like 3 am.

I have seen Blur once 20 years ago. They are great live and seeing them in a European setting should be great! They also don't play too often, especially here in the states, so this should be a treat!
I haven't seen Depeche Mode, but Garageland has seen them. There is a market for them in the U.S. as tickets for their shows are going for over $400 just for nosebleeds.

I hoping to see Talabot this time around.
as with a lot on this poster never heard of him. Big show because he’s a local?

yes but listen to his album fin. That album turned many people on to electronica. His dj sets are very good as well. Amenra is can't miss for me this year but just keep listening to the entire lineup it's almost all good and fun to dig through
