Man that sounds so great. I do have a 12X12 Ez-up shade house. My name is Tom, My wife Genevieve are all for the idea of the tent only area. Look forward to sharing my shade and making some friends. Went last year and had a long hike to and from the shows. And yes, we had some things stolen.

Yeah IMO the tent only area is safer especially with a good sized group and it looks like this one will be plenty big enough so that we can always have eyes on each others stuff. We're gunna have a whole bunch of shade it looks like, we could have a big shade area in the middle and a huge circle of tents goin. Im all about a nice place to throw down my bedroll and sprawl out on the ground in my sleeping bag and crash for the night outside of the tent. Tent is for storage and stormy weather...
Man, I'd definately do that with you if it's not raining. And then the next day the rest of the group can eat or pick up whatever the mosquitos left of us.

I didnt see very many mosquitos last year at all... Then again im from maine. When people up here say they're being "eatin' alive" by mosquitos they mean it

thank god someones gettin a group together...im a first time 'rooster(haha i love saying 'rooster") so yeah im definitely in for being with a group, some of whom know what theyre doin better than I do. Im probably just greyhounding it and walking to the site, so im definitely in for campiing with some other chill people..(this may be offtopic, but i figured id ask my new buddies here the tent group) im thinking ill be okay carrying 2 bags: an over-the-shoulder tent bag and a backpack with a change of clothes and all the essentials(food, water bottles. hygiene stuff, sunscreen, insect repellent, i.e. everything i read in the survival guide.) does that sound about normal for somethin like this? ive never done a multiple day festival before(but i have been to warped tour, so i kinda know what such things are like during the day. a little. i think...)
anyways, im definitely in Leo...put me in the loop. i should be arriving 6-8ish thursday AM, but i could be as late as 2 PM depending on how my ride situation works out.
thanks all(and see you at the roo),
Steve(aka Johnny Spork, aka DKC, aka teh n00b)
(edited to reference the fact that i read the guide already)
Hey all, I think this is a great idea! I was a the roo last year and the two people I was with kind of sucked and I had nowhere to go, (all about the drugs, not about the music AT ALL!). This year I am probably going to be all on my lonesome and would love to meet some chill people. I should be there when the gates open Thursday morning so I can hold spaces, (I am trying to get some Chicago people to caravan down so there may be just more then me). I am so glad I found this listserve! WOOHOO THE ROO! I seriously can't wait-

I'm planning to camp in that area anyway, so I'm all about a Inforoo area. I may still camp with a couple of other people, but nothing is set in stone yet.
Hey all! I would love to join the group! I'll be a first timer, and just a single. I was a little nervous about camping out as a loner, but think it would be cool to have a little community! I'll be driving in from Atlanta, and plan to be there early on Thurs and leaving on monday= no hurry.
Will the flag of the little one be up to find you easy? I'll PM you too with my info!
Me and my buddy are in, we are first timers, i never even heard of Bonnaroo until this year when i was searching for Radiohead tour dates, then found out Bonnaroo was the only even in the states, at first we questioned going to Tennessee until we got to the bonnaroo sight- we were just talking about wanting to meet up with some people that actually know the ropes
quick question- i was thinking of buying one of those crappy 20$ tents you can get anywhere so that it didnt matter if it got ruined, but i keep seeing a lot of stuff about storms and such...is it usually just rain or does it get windy too...i know nothing about the weather in that part of the us...i've never been further east than ohio

I might be heading down there with a group of 8 or so, or if they crap out I might be on my own....if I'm with the crew I know they'll want to be by their cars, but if it's just me I'd love to join in. Being close to the music, and having more space sounds very beneficial. Not to mention the company
Please include me in the emails Leo...really appreciate it!
i'd probably be better off with my good tent though, i just dont want to get too fucked up and ruin it, after paying for bonnaroo i wont be able to afford a new one for some good backpakcing this summer...this whole summer has to kick ass to make up for last year, bonnaroo seems like the best way imaginable to kick it off!

I'll still be meeting all you guys there... I should be in the fest early so im gunna be around the tent only area searching for inforoo peeps... I still need to send Leo my profile thingie...
deloused, you should have gotten an email already, I sent out a bunch to all the recent joiners a few days ago. When I get home tonight to my personal puter I'll double check to see if I have you in the mailing list. I have you email addr., sorry if I left you out. Someone asked about the baby flag, it'll be up and should be easy to find, someone else from the group was talking about getting some "Inforoo" flags made up special so we may have them as well. Things have been hectic w/ the new little one but I will get back to everyone who's shown an interest (...eventually). Anyone who is interested, the best thing to do is just msg me with your email and I'll get you on the list.
I'm interested. I just joined the group a few minutes ago but I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now.
Also.. is there a limit on the size of the tents allowed in the camping only area? I've got a (too small for a 4 day event) tiny backpacking tent and a (really too big for me and the buddy coming with me) huge 2 bedroom tent. I'm leaning towards the big one but I'd hate to be a jerk and hog space if it's going to be in short supply in the camping-only field.
I'd be happy to make up some flags...just give me design/ color ideas and i'll draw up somthing cool to put on them...are you guys thinking a huge flag for the center of camp...or medium ones to put around the area...also i would need a volunteer for poles...i am flying to tennessee...they kind of frown upon bringing poles on the plane.
sorry for the late post to this thread. my husband and i will be in india for the month of may so much of my energy has been focused on the logistics of that trip. we will be camping at roo and would also be into camping/hanging with all of you. dont know how big the group already is. not totally sure when we will arrive. we will be coming from chapel hill, nc. i have sent you a message leo about camping. cheers!

im going to be in the tent only area not long after the gates open... Im gunna crash from travel/wakarusa then i'll be on the lookout for inforoo peeps...
my flight gets in on wednesday afternoon, what is the earliest time that you can start showing up on thursday?...also i am restocking a full first aid kit for this, is there anything else that i can bring that would benifit everyone around, i have a relatively endless supply of backpacking gear
Leo, let us know how the family is doing. Looking forward to an update when you have a chance.
As for poles, I'd be willing to bring poles. I'm driving from FL and would easily bring 20 or 30' of mast material. Can some one tell me what the ground is like in the camping area?
OK, I think I've gotten caught up with getting people on the list. Everyone who's shown an interest or is already in the group should have gotten an email today. My mailing list got a little fouled up so if you didn't get the email, msg me and I'll get things worked out. The family is doing well, Killian (the new guy) is doing everything a 2wk old should (eat, poop, sleep, cry) and is healthy. Faolan (the 19mo old) likes his brother and doesn't seem jealous. My wife and I are sleep deprived (no surprise) but hanging in there.
Hey guys - just checkin' in to see what's up. Jay (my husband) and I are gettin super excited thinking about 'roo - don't know if we will make it til June. Bought a new tent this week. Peace, Beth
