Looks good Leo! Now I just gotta try and convince you early arrivers to save me a spot, because I won't get there until 6-ish thursday
Do you think that maybe the people that are getting there early should each pick one person/group that's arriving late to save a spot for?
I'm not sure how many people are coming late, but if it starts to fill up we would look like total douches saving this giant area for the the latecomers.... but if we each just save one tent/canopy size spot next to ours it wouldn't *look* as rude at least and it won't be just one person's (like Leo!) responsibility to keep their eye on it.
I'm not sure if there are too many people that are coming Thursday evening, but if there are I could put that list together and match people up or something.
And if there aren't many tent-only people coming late, well, then Kampy I can at least put aside a spot for you if you're worried ;D
GREAT IDEA taraanne! This is such an awesome group of people.

Hello all. Haven't checked back much lately because the suspense is killing me and anything adding fuel to the fire could send my blood pressure up to fatal levels (just kidding on that, I'm healthy
But yeah, just sent my phone number to Brian. I'll be arriving about noon on Thursday with my friend Marc. I'm Matt BTW. I'll be around the boards a bit more leading up to Bonnaroo so I hope to get to know some of you before the big weekend.

We're going to be in the "Tents Only" area, and we are looking forward to meeting all of you who support socially consicous music. I hope we have some fellow "tents only" campers who will support us and join in the drum circle. Regardless, come by our tent, introduce yourselves and meet others who share your interest in changing the world through the global influence of music. Feel free to contact us for more information...info@consciousflowz.org.
ConsciousFlowz, A NEW NASHVILLE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, WILL RAISE AWARENESS OF THE AIDS CRISIS IN AFRICA AT BONNAROO
NASHVILLE, TN – April 23, 2006 – ConsciousFlowz will be at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, JUNE 16th – 18th to raise awareness of the AIDS crisis in South Africa by promoting various education and assistance programs. Their goal at Bonnaroo is to unite a socially conscious music community that will support their plans for youth music education projects in Cape Town, South Africa.
Founded on the knowledge that music has an undeniable social influence in the global spectrum, ConsciousFlowz’ mission is to fund socially aware music projects that incite activism and raise funds in the United States to benefit music based education projects that empower African youth.
ConsciousFlowz is currently involved in a collaboration effort with the non-profit radio station, Bush Radio, in Cape Town, South Africa. Bush Radio has established successful programs aligned with the mission of ConsciousFlowz. With the combined effort of the two organizations, these programs will become more influential and effective.
The ConsciousFlowz booth will be located under a red ConsciousFlowz flag in the tents-only camping area. Anyone who is interested in learning more about this organization should come by the tent, ask questions, chat with likeminded music lovers and make a donation if they are interested in helping the cause. There will be t-shirts and other promotional giveaways in exchange for donations. A hand drum circle led by co-founder and accomplished Nashville percussionist, Stephen Richardson, will take place everyday at the ConsciousFlows booth. Everyone is invited to bring a drum, play along and get a few pointers. For more information, e-mail info@consciousflowz.org.
I was just thinking something similar. I was wondering if Briand has the phone tree together or are we just going to wander around the spot Leo marked on the map?
I heard back from the folks at 'roo, they said that the tent only area will be set up exactly like last year. I've gone ahead and posted the map w/ the location we've discussed marked in the 1st post of this thread so people can find it easily.

So, I understand peopple will be wanting to trade favorite beers and such. Are we alowed to bring glass bottles to the campgrounds? When I read about it in the past, I was under the impression that we are not allowed to. When the 2006 info came out, I read that there are no glass containers allowed in centeroo/stage areas. Does anyone have an answer? I would love to be able to bring beer in glass bottles, I feel its better than cans.
and after i get brian's tentative list around the 5th I'll start the posting for any additional latecomers who need a spot saved in tent only... then i'll match them up and post it here and PM people.
If anybody wants to caravan in let me know libbylule and I will be spending the night in Murfreesboro on Wed. night so we can meet early Thurs day morn.

So things got fucked with my group. My best friend Natalie will no longer be accompanying me, but one of my other best friends, Wil, shall be joining. I also have another friend who just joined tonight. Wil works at a factory, and has already used his three days sick/ leave days for the year. His plan is to throw up on himself within an hour of being at work, getting sent home around 9ish and we should be leaving around 10-11 in the morning Thursday. He'll claim food poisioning and call in from the 'roo on Friday. I will be arriving by car between midnight and four on early Friday morning if all goes according to plan (please, for once go right...). If someone can save us a tent spot on Thursday, I'll love you forever. Oh, and I now have my cell phone back. Is there still a phone tree idea going around? Who do I message if it is still going down? Thirteen days until 'roo... I'm so excited!!!!
briand is still putting the phone list together, get in touch w/ him for that. taraanne81 is organizing a list of who needs spaces saved and when they're coming in, drop her a line.

Hey everybody, my name's Kevin. Me and my friend are going to our first roo this year. We were already sure we wanted to get in the tent only area. If its not too late we'd like to jump in with you guys. I read through pretty much all of the thread and it seems like its gonna be a really cool group of people. I've been addicted to this board since I found it a couple months ago. Everyone seems awesome. I'll pm my cell # to briand after I post this. We will be leaving work at 6:30am Thursday and going basically straight there. Should get to Manchester at about 9:30 or 10 am that morning if there was no traffic backup. I'm really not sure how much time that will add. We'd be game for meeting up and then going in if its gonna be happenin at the right time. And i'll be driving an suv so I could bring something up if you guys need it. Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself.

What about the tiki torches? Someone (sorry, can't remember who) was going to bring a bunch. If that's still on, we'll need citronella oil, anyone else think of anything not too expensive and easily transported (actually, the oil may not be a great idea if you're doing the bus thing, it's flammable and in this day in age bringing it on a bus might make you a terrorist )
"Don't worry, It's Inflammable." BOOM "Inflammable means flammable? What a country!" Dr. Nick

I'll bring the oil - coming by truck. Amberth, I think, was going to bring the torches. Count on the oil. I'm also working to fit some extra chairs in my truck for those who can't travel with them.
I love the midwestern 'making it work' plan to being at roo. Throwing up at work with food poisoning. Find me at the camp and I'll treat you to a great beer. Grew up in Kazoo, worked in Detroit for a couple of years, so I understand what you are dealing with. Great plan.

I'm bringing inflatable speakers, so if anyone has an ipod we'll be all set for tunes!
Holy crap! Sign me up! I was going to bring my ipod for the plane so that would be really fun to do. I have an "old" one so it only holds like 1,000 songs, but I'll fill it up with whatever everybody wants.... any requests??
