Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
i'll have my ipod too. i have stuff from a lot of the bonnaroo bands. plenty of radiohead and bright eyes. not sure how long the battery will last though. i've never had it very far away from a charger for that long.
It's my first time. How will I find the camping only area.
The camping area will be clearly marked on the map you get when you go in. I've heard from Bonnaroo that it'll be in the same place as last year. I've updated the orginal post in this thread w/ a section of last year's map and marked where we'll be. I'll have my flag up (it's the same as my avatar), a large version is here www.poorvin.com/roo/flagsmall.jpg Also, briand is setting up a phone list for people who get lost (it's discussed a few pages back)
I also have another friend who just joined tonight. Wil works at a factory, and has already used his three days sick/ leave days for the year. His plan is to throw up on himself within an hour of being at work, getting sent home around 9ish and we should be leaving around 10-11 in the morning Thursday. He'll claim food poisioning and call in from the 'roo on Friday.
You and your friend are my new favorite boarders. There aren't many folks who can/will pull off a stunt like that! In junior high, I would chew up food, milk, or whatever and blow it all over the table in a fake puking fit, just to get out of school a couple of hours early. Nothing really changed, because half a dozen or so years later, I put on one of the most elaborate shows of fake clinical depression (yeah, I know it's nothing to joke about, but things happen) to try and get a medical drop for all of the classes I had fu*ked myself over in during my freshman year of college. It almost worked...but almost doesn't count in a situation like that. But I digress -- and needless to say, I can understand crazy sh*t like this. God speed my pukey friend...god speed!
so im brand new here, and thats a shame - since you people seem pretty cool. my girlfriend and i are flying in and should be at roo around 1 pm on thursday. the other part of our group just exploded, so they are out. anyway, if you invite strangers, we're interested

Alright guys, its 6:41am ET and im leaving for Wakarusa in 2 hours! Im gunna be rolling into Bonnaroo with some peeps sometime on Thursday next week and i'll be headed right for our tent only spot... I will be riding in a car so i wont be as early as i planned but im sure it will be sometime during the morning/afternoon on Thursday, i'll be asking around looking for you guys...
See you all out there! Have fun waiting another week!
Coming from Thompsons Station, TN with the girlfriend to the camping only area. Probably try to get in on Wednesday night since it is only 35 minutes away from the house, if they don't open we will just try again on Thursday. Will have the blinking red flag
well guys, unless I can find a ride from Richmond VA or 110 dollars within the next 2 days... I'm screwed. So Now I have no idea on arrival time, or IF I'll arrive at all. Stupid ODing best friend and her stupid 4000 dollar hospital bill...ARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! I should be getting excited about the Roo right now...not wondering if I'm going to make it..
Sorry if that was a bit whiney, but I had to get it out...
Hey guys..Mac from Atlanta here. Don't know if my co-conspirator wants to camp in tent-only, but regardless I will make an appearance just to meet some of you cool cats.
Longtime reader, firstime poster...I just send Briand my contact info, so I hope now I can join all you cool guys and gals in the great Inforoo Tent Circle! My name is Andy, and I'll be coming to my first 'Roo with my firend Coco. We are very cool Cali girls (but not in that spolied way you might think) and are excited to listen to some sweet music and enjoy your company.
And while I am not committed to vomiting so I can attend (although right on if you can), I am still very amped up to go. Most excited about RADIOHEAD, Bright Eyes, Common, Son Volt, Tom Petty (the legend), Beck, Seu Jorge, Sonic Youth, basically everyone and everything. I'll stop rambling now, but just wanted to introduce myself. See everyone there!
Hi everyone, I'm a roo-virgin. This board has been very helpful for tips! I am flying in on Friday from Boston with my boyfriend. We would love to join the inforoo campsite.
Since we are coming on a plane and then carrying everything, we can't bring beer, only the hard stuff! In plastic, of course. Bands I am most interested in: Radiohead, Death Cab, Bright Eyes, Sonic Youth, The Dresden Dolls, Dungen, The Magic Numbers and The Streets.
Great, looking forward to meeting you guys. We will have the flag of Chile marking our tent, so stop by and say HI.

Ahh, nice to see more folks from Boston! we will be flying in on Thursday. our flight on monday leaves about 1...
I'll get you on the list cheese. The phone tree we're talking about is a way to let everyone know exactly where the camp is once we're there (the first few to show up each call a couple people, who call people...)
Hi Leo. I'm flying solo and taking the shuttle and I am a Roo newbie. I would love to be added to the list as well. My flight doesn't get in until around 4:30pm Thursday, do you think I will still be able to camp with the Inforoo group if I get there that late?

I was going to fly out of Boston but Hartford was actually chaper for once! I get in around 9:30 am...
My Fiance and I will be in early on Thursday...we're both 'roo virgins, however, we used to do a lot of touring. Anyway, we'd love to be tossed on the list, as we'll both be humping our gear to camping only...
Anyway, we would love to meet you guys & we should be nearby, at any rate...Look for the pole with the Mexican and Italian flags flying.
Howdy folks. I'm Hootdaddy. This will be my fifth Bonnaroo.
I'm just back from Smilefest. If you happen to see Hot Buttered Rum String Band, Infradig or the Avett Bros. at Bonnaroo, I assure you will not be disappointed.
I'll be down in BFE with at least a satellite in Inforoo tent camping that should be up by 11 a.m. Thursday with any luck. I've PMd me integers to briand and will be happy to help with the phone tree.
I usually cook a lot, but I'm paring down this year...only a few treats, well-timed. Oh, and perhaps a libation of some sort. But if anyone needs help in the field kitchen, I'm game.
As far as what I gotta see? So many conflicts, but def R'head, O'head, Elvis C, and of course Phil. Oh, and UM. And RRFB. moe. Holy crap...Sonic Youth?! I missed them and they were so good last timeIgottafindawaytotransportmyselfviatractorbeamorsumfin....
But I digress.
Oh. I'm old as the hills. My son will be tent camping somewhere up there--he's 18 now and went with me two years ago--but this time he wants to hang with his buds, which is good. I wouldn't respect him if he didn't.
Wife and I are attending our first Bonnaroo and bringing our teenagers. Would like to tent camp in Centeroo and join the group.
We plan to drive in from New Orleans that Wednesday and get there first thing Thursday. Please make contact with additional details. e-mail danflynn@charter.net
Welcome. As far as making contact with details, well, that's unlikely. Folks are encouraged to read the thread, to get on the phone tree, and to show up and camp.
PM your cell phone to briand to get on the phone tree for Thursday arrivals, and we'll see you there on Thursday.
As we're getting close I just wanted to mention a few things.
New people are still welcome to join us in Camp Inforoo, there is no email sign-up anymore (got unwieldy) so no need to PM me. Feel free to introduce yourself in the thread though. It's a good idea to at least give the whole thread a glance over as well, lots of questions have already been asked and answered. When (or rather, if) I have time I'll update the list of people in the first post, but that's a very informal list, so if your name's not on it, don't sweat it, it doesn't mean you're not invited.
The phone list signup ends this Friday, briand is handling that. As we know right where the camp in going to be (see update in first post of thread), the phone list is not quite as critical, but is still good to have in case something unforseen happens.
Lastly, we need to get the early arrivers organized. It sounds like lucid isn't going to be there hella early so we need to find out who the first ones will be. I should get to Manchester around 8 am and with the way traffic has been at that time should have my camp (and the flag) set up by noon on Thursday at the latest (again barring something weird). So let me know (PM or just reply here) if you are expecting to get to Manchester BEFORE 8 am on Thursday and we can figure out how to identify each other (I'm easy to pick out, I'll be wearing a very loud Hawaiian shirt).

i wont be camping w/ you fine folks, but i will definatley be down there to party down with the inforooster's..i will just be looking for Leo's "Baby with tongue out" flag (what is that adorable kid's name anyway)..i cant wait to see that flag flying in manchester.
It seems that several inforoosters are bringing their kids. Certainly, at this event, they will be exposed to a lot of things - many of which are probably illegal.
so here is my question: is camp inforoo designed to be a dry/sober place? if one chose to smoke or drink, would they be frowned upon?
im not talking about being absolutely smashed out of your gourd, im just referring to the moderate consumption of things...

Camp Inforoo is NOT a designated dry/sober place. As I mentioned in the 1st post, personal use (of drugs or drink) is a personal matter (just no dealing). Expect to see the same activities at the camp as you'd see anywhere else among the tents. As far as bringing kids, I don't know of anyone in the group who's planning on bringing them (not a problem if they do), but if people are concerned about exposing their young ones to the above mentioned activities, as I said, expect to see the same stuff as in the rest of 'roo.
BTW ron, the kid on my flag is my eldest, Faolan, it's hard to tell from the small thumbnail but his face is covered in yogurt. The pic was taken a little over a year ago (he's still cute as hell though)

I'm getting in Wednesday night; when I am allowed up the BFE hill for tent camping (they close BFE off on Wed. night, then let folks go up sometime Thurs. a.m.) just depends on the 'roo folks. I should be up to you no later than 11:00 am Thursday.
Hmm. What to wear? I'll go with my Beat the Donkey shirt, medium blue. I'm four and two score, glasses, should be easy to spot. I sweat like a mofo.
