Where's the best place to park near the Columbus venue? Only 10 days away so gotta start making plans
I've only been to Kemba once and there were a ton of lots nearby. The festival stage is in one of those lots behind the actual venue. I imagine there's better street parking down the road. We're staying at a nearby Airbnb and plan on walking each day.

Sick, reserved a garage spot since I'm driving in from out of town.

The Riot Fest stuff is more complicated than that, but it would've been really ridiculous if the Re:Set permit didn't go through. If you really want to get me riled up, though, ask me 3-4 beers deep at Riot Fest about the plovers at the Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary.

Looking forward to a mini Inforoo meetup!
Hope to catch you both there! I'll send a PM when we get closer

Still looks pretty touch-and-go for today in NYC - we’re definitely getting rained on, but how much and whether there’ll be thunderstorms and when varies depending on what you look at.
Barring any cancellations or delays, hoping to get there at 5 for IDLES. Fingers crossed I’m not spending 5 hours in a monsoon.

Looks like we're dodging the bullet! On subway now, aiming for Idles as well.
11/28 Raveonettes (Copenhagen, Denmark) 12/4 Interpol 12/14 LCD Soundsystem 12/31 Billy Joel 1/25 The Killers (Las Vegas) 2/12 Jack White 2/25 Father John Misty 3/6 Inhaler 4/10 Franz Ferdinand 4/17 Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 5/15 Amyl & the Sniffers 5/18 Fontaines D.C. 9/1 Oasis
I am at The Stage at Suffolk Downs. This is the first ever event here, so I'm gonna jot down some thoughts
It's basically if they built What Stage in the infield of a defunct horse racing track, in terms of size and scope.
The subway stop is maybe 3 minute walk from security. It could not be more convenient. Bars and food on both sides, a huge number of porta potties at the back of the site.
Beer prices are eh. $13 for a 19oz tallboy of Sierra Nevada. There's hard seltzer, cider, and wine options as well. VIP has a tented area with their own dedicated bar and flush toilets, but beyond that, I can't identify any perks worth the $$.
Sound quality for Foushee was pretty good, but I feel like they mixed a bit loud for the space. FOH is oddly close to the stage imo (but I'm not a professional). Pit area is bisected by a media/security/cabling runway to the stage. I don't actually mind this because if you're on the barrier you have a clear line of sight to center stage.
Crowd is pretty diverse across most demographics, which makes sense tonight. I'm guessing Sunday will be pretty... homogeneous
The only concern is that there's no real cover in the event of rain, thunder, or lightning
The sun will be behind the stage probably before the sub-headliners go on. Toro y Moi come on in ten and the sun is just over the left side of the stage roof already
The sound for Toro y Moi, James Blake, and Steve Lacy was perfect. Only Foushee sounded off.
Steve Lacy was so much better live than I expected. He's gonna be a top 10 guy at Bonnaroo in the next 2-3 years (if they're smart)
Given the limited number of brand activations (basically alcohol sellers), were they doing anything interesting between artists, beyond the usual mixtapes most artists play before they take the stage?

The music between sets was great, that is the extent of what I noticed
Will be ubering there from our hotel Saturday in Columbus, my 11th or 12th time seeing LCD, and my roommates first time. I am sooooooo pumped to get to experience that with them.
Odds that Boston will be a wash out tonight? Driving from CT and still looking to score a ticket for IDLES
As of 10 am, the hourly forecast lists heavier rain kicking in around 3 pm (when the gates open) and basically doesn't let up until after the evening ends, although one hour in there is listed as "light rain."
(EDIT: A few minutes after typing the above, I'm hearing thunder, while no thunderstorms are listed on weather.com for today. Be sure not to leave that grain of salt out in the rain.)

standing in the rain for hours sounds awful and i'm seeing the cure tomorrow
I'm beginning to regret selling my 3-day pass. I could have gone in late for Steve Lacy and, after checking out a couple of Dijon songs online last night, the Sunday lineup looks even better to me. Oh well, while the weekend is a literal and figurative wash, there's always Wednesday.

Had that same experience last night - my 14th LCD Soundsystem show, the first for my friend who only discovered and became obsessed with the band once Spotify’s algorithm fed him “new body rhumba.” We were fortunate to be able to work toward a really good spot by the end of the show - seeing him experience the drop in “Dance Yrself Clean” for the first time was pretty cool.

Well LCD has DFA records dj's in between acts on their day.
I want to see IDLES but I might just go for Jamie and LCD. It's not warm enough out to stand in the rain for 5+ hours. Might not be warm enough to go for Jamie, tbh
