So my questions about VIp would pertain to the bathrooms/showers.....how well are they respected in the VIP area? I understand alot less people will be using these but are they kept clean or at least tended to often. Also the showers, are they respected as well....I know they have to be better than taking a showers behind a garbage bag, but do people generally clean up after theirselves a little more in VIP than GA?
Everyone is extremely respectful of the facilities in VIP. There are bathroom attendants camping out 24/4 at the a/c bathrooms who keep it clean and supplied with TP, lotion and soap. See the photos posted earlier in this thread.
Everyone was also very respectful of their space and their neighbors' space - there didn't seem to be any trash, tent parts or sleeping w00ks on the grass in VIP.
are there any nice bathrooms/showers near the RV section?
I'm pretty sure they didn't have another a/c bathroom near the RV section, just because they assume you will be using the bathroom in your RV; however, there are several lines of portapotties in VIP that were extremely clean.
I think the only showers were at the back wall near the a/c bathrooms. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

hmmmmm so there aren't very many showers?
i'd like to keep the facilities use in the RV to a minimum since there are no hookups, and not having to use porta potties was one of the many reasons i wanted to be in VIP

those stinkers!
I just pulled out my 2006 map and it does appear that the only showers are at the back tree line. In this pic (right side) you can see the showers and wash stations:
I apologize about this screenshot from my computer. I have looked EVERYWHERE for this aerial, but I can't find it again.
This was taken Sunday afternoon.
YELLOW: Our camp BLUE: A/C bathrooms - on the left end, you can see the attendants' tent. PURPLE: Hospitality tent ORANGE: Exit to the little shakedown street towards BFE RED: Entrances to Centeroo/Exits from VIP - you can also get in/out through the Hospitality Tent GREEN: Showers & washstations PINK: Portapotties - there may be more elsewhere.

Andrea, you are forever pleasant, helpful and thorough! thank you so much for those! they put my mind at ease a bit, i thought i'd be walking forever to get to the showers, but it looks much better after seeing those pics

again, thank you!
You're very welcome. I do hope there are more portapotties down by the RV section, but, if not, you'll just have to come visit our camp on your way to & from the A/C bathrooms.
Not to sound like a broken record, but I agree...your posts have been so incredibly helpful to me and were integral in helping me decide to drop $600 for VIP. So thank you!
I do have a quick question (for any former VIP)...is your camping spot in VIP somewhat based on your arrival time, or is it also totally random (like GA)? In other words, do they put the first car up front and work their way back? How sweet would it be to be right up front (until it came time for a shower, I guess).
Your spot is based on arrival time, but there isn't rhyme or reason as to which section they choose to start filling up first. You can see they sectioned the RVs off, so it depends on whether your coming in an RV or not, as to where they put you.
There really isn't a bad camping spot in VIP, but the best spots are the ones closest to the hospitality tent, b/c that is the place you'll walk to and from the most.
They do have you file in and park next to the car that was in front of you driving in. However, as you can see from the aerials, there was a big, open area in the center, which I would assume can be taken over on Friday by anyone willing to move and set up camp again. Of course, it never hurts to ask when you are pulling in if you can camp in a particular area or with friends.
Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'm really excited to get to meet everyone in June! If you see me (in avator) or my brother Shawn, be sure and say "howdy".

Just out of curiosity ... where is the VIP entrance? I'll be coming from Huntsville, which is about 80 miles south (slightly southwest) of Manchester and I'm wondering if I'll have to go halfway around Manchester to get my swag and get back to the VIP entrance.

Andrea, thanks for posting all those pictures with the markings. They really help show everything, especially that last one. I have saved all of them and they were a definite factor for my fiance and I to jump on the VIP bandwagon this year.
It was nice to see that you could get into Centeroo from two different spots and that there is an quickly reached mini shakedown, you know, just in case. I agree with CKS though, and I hope that there are more porta potties over by the RV section. It is always a good thing to keep your resources available in the RV.
Okay, there's a hint in this picture. This is in the parking lot at the location where VIP'ers get their "swag". If you find the hint, it will help answer your question about going "halfway around Manchester" to get to VIP. If you didn't attend Roo last year, you may not get the hint. GOOD LUCK!

I didn't. This will be my first.
Oh well ... I'll just wait for my super-secret directions to show up a few weeks before showtime and plan my route accordingly. The other side of Manchester is a little more than an hour from here, either way.
I keep reading suggestions about making a flag ... I gotta come up with a design for one.
