I'll probably bring some of my favorite canadian beer in the oil can, Foster's®. I'm also planning on bringing a case of southpaw, don't know what it is about it but that stuff gets me drunk. I may bring some Asahi tallboys too even tho I just found out that its made in canada also. Go figure.
I don't mean to be a stickler here, but did you think Foster's is from Canada? That's from Australia buddy. Have you seen the comercials before....."Foster's Australian for Beer"
Well just didn't want you to get rosy cheeked and embarrassed the next time you brought it up.

Much of the Foster's sold in the USA is made in Canada. They still call it an "Australian" beer, but it's brewed pretty much around the world now - ever since they quit shipping the old steel quart cans.
Anyone ever tried Saint Arnolds? It's a local microbrewery here in houston. They make seasonal beer that is quite good....maybe because it's sp fresh?... They make all kinds....I'm drinking a nice wheat ale right now...
Yep, I've had it. I actually volunteer at St. Arnold's Saturday brewery tours 2 to 3 times a month. If you've ever been to one of the tours, you've probably seen me as I've been working the tours for about 2 1/2 years now. I wish they did cans so I'd be able to bring some...I actually brewed 2 batches over the weekend that I plan on bringing to Roo - a Brown Ale/Amber Ale blend on the front left and a Honey Wheat on the back right...

So I get smited for that? I am not letting this one down, because I do understand a globel economy and the way some foreign products are made in domestic places. For example some BMWs are made in Alabama, but are they an American Car? No. Fosters is Australian.....and personally you can have it cause it tastes like cat pee. And if you talk to any Ausies they don't even drink the stuff, and I've seen those guys drink the drip tray under a draft beer tap. Magooo
Well have a nice day and smite away, what do I have to lose.
And by the way, I'll take some Abita Beer any day of the week, too bad it don't come in cans. Purple Haze is good if you like the berry stuff.
I didn't smite you for that comment, iforgit. My point was that much of the Fosters sold in the USA is from Canada (you said it was from Australia). It may be an "Australian" beer, but it's from Canada around here. And I personally don't drink the stuff - too low alcohol % for me.
As an aside, complaining about getting smited, or karma in general, tends to draw out the trolls who love spreading the smite around. Just a heads up.
I'll be drinking Michelob Ultra. It's pretty cheap. Plus, it's real light, so you can drink a bunch and not feel bloated. Also, they'll leave you hangover-free.

Somebody please bring me some Michelob Golden Draft!!! I would do anything to have me some GD at 'roo.....I know it sounds weird, being an AB product, but they don't sell it in St. Louis. I will share some Fat Tire and Leine's Sunset Wheat with you. And there might even be some baked goods involved.

I really want some Yueng-Ling in cans, but they don't sell it here in TN...NC would be the closest for me. They don't sell it from their website, but they have a distributor about an hour away. Does anyone know if you can buy it from the distributor or is that just a way for them to get the beer to retailers?
the average distributor does not sell at a retail level...yes i'd guess they are only servicing other retailers in the area. you should talk to someone from the northeast, maybe they'll bring you down a case or a 30pack. hell i could do it, i just can't commit now since i have no idea what my car/packing situation is like and won't for another month and a half at least.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

Hey Oleander, I could bring a case for you from VA and give it to you at the hotel the night before.
Electraonyx, you're too generous!!! I surely appreciate the offer, but I'll be in NC before Roo and can pick some up myself. I was just wondering about the distributor.
So are there homebrew vendors selling their stuff at Shakedown and if so do any of them make any heavy dark HI Grav beers. I'm looking at canned beers and the choices are really killing my buzz so to speak.

Looks good, boog. I, too, do brew. But how do you bottle... without using bottles? In other words, what are you putting it in to bring it in? I'd love to bring my own IPA or ESB... if I could do it glass-free.
Is it advisable to siphon straight from my fermentation carboy into a keg? If so, appx how much would an empty keg cost? What else would I need? How would one keep a 5-gallon keg cold in a hot van for 5 days?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah, I wasn't trying to be contentious, I'm just defensive about beer. It's a gift from the gods.
Except Natural Ice. That stuff tastes like the can. It should be illegal.

Heh, ever had Natty Bo?(National Bohemian) I think it depends on the batch.. I've gotten some that didnt taste bad, and some that was absolutely awful. In Baltimore I've found it for 75c a bottle at bars.. Not a special either..

I like to suprise my sister with Abita beers sometimes because it reminds her of New Orleans (where it's brewed) Purple Haze is my favorite & the Restoration Ale is really good too!
Somebody bring me some "Hazed and Infused" from a microbrewery in CO. They don't sell it in RI....had it at a beer tasting....HIGHly recommend it!!!!!!

I have got my beer down to a science: Variety
first I get about a 12 pack of Coors Light... not bad, very watery, good for drinking during the day then I get a 12 of Yuengling black and tan, and pretend im drinking real black and tans, good for after dinner Then I get a 4 pack of Guinness, usually for my late night stroll into centeroo *just for the taste really I also have had cases of bottles confiscated before, but I do like to sneek in a few very strong beers in glass Namely the Flying Dog horndog, and or Gonzo imperial porter, though last year on sunday night i ended up blacking out, which is always scary...
also there is a company who makes a Triple Chocolate Stout which is pretty damn tasty.
