That's a cool thread girls! I usually use powder because when I use the sunscreen my face shines too much. Any suggestions of a good non-oily sunscreen?
the best I have found is neutrogena's ultra sheer dry touch stuff... comes up to 55 spf... and works great for the body and face... they also have the greatest sprey stuff ever, cooling body mist sprey sunblock, I swear! it makes me so happy It really does literally feel completely refreshingly cool when you put it on, It was a life saver on my camping trip last fourth of july

Last year I wore those gaucho thingys and knee-length skirts. When I wore skirts, I wore boxer-briefs. I just went to target and bought a 3-pack, and they really helped with chafing. It was hard to get used to the feel of them, but it worked pretty well.
I have found out the hard way, from Bonnaroo 05, that I am allergic to sun...I actually get a red rash on my legs from it, so that is why I try to keep at least my knees covered. It wasn't as bad last year.
And I wear crocs and keens. My shoes of choice.
And the bandanas!!! I wore my bandana last year with my sun hat over it. Dunked the bandana in the cooler full of ice water, put the bandana on, put some ice cubes in my hat, and put the hat on. Not glamorous, but definitely kept my head cool for quite a while. REI makes womens sun hats that have SPF built in.

Joga totally reminded me of something... I was in a salon today... I think it was trade secret actually... and anywhoo... they had a shampoo that was supposed to block uv rays... now to me that kinda doesn't make a whole lot of sense cause shampoo washes out of your hair, the idea is to not leave a residue... and it seams like anything that blocked uv rays would be residue... but hey what do I know... maybe it was a conditioner that would make more sense... Its the blond thing again

I'm looking forward to some sunrays on my head. Ever since I dyed it dark last year, my blond has yet to reappear. Now that I've grown out most of the orange, I'm hoping my natural ash blond highlights will come back. But I plan to wear a hat a lot of the time.....I got a couple hats from here when someone posted about a sale back in March. www.altrec.com/outdoors/womens/hats/brimmedhats/
And I will be wearing absolutely no makeup. <---something I am thrilled about, because it has taken me years to get the nerve to stop wearing it EVERYWHERE (naughty skin), and now I finally wear it as little as possible. A very big step for this girly girl ;P

Oy... I dyed my hair dark once... It never did return to it's natural color even after a ton of lightening/bleaching/stripping treatments... I just had to let it run its course and grow out
In fact until this year I couldn't actually remember what my natural hair color was I had been dying it for so long It was blond as a child but I knew it had grown darker with age
Turns out its not that bad, a pleasant reddish brown, that seems to get rather blond in the sun
When I went away to the Dominican Republic for my wedding, I did have a LEAVE IN Conditioner that did block the UV Rays from bleaching our my hair and damaging the new color I had put in. Check the salons, I can't for the life of me remember what it was but if I get a chance I'll ask the owner of the salon.
I plan on buying some crocs because we were in the ladies changeroom at work and trying on everyones crocs! OMG They astonished me to no end! So comfy!
I'll be bringing loads of undies, loads of Tank tops, shorts, bikini top to wear under my tanks, a hoodie, and maybe a pair of lightweight cargo pants.
Makeup? OMG I'll be too filthy to wear makeup. And with sunglasses on, no way, little lip balm etc and that'll be it I think.
I love this thread! I have two strappy sundresses that I am bringing and I am still looking for a third. The ones I have are a bit longer which is convenient for sitting. Target.com is being stupid but later I will post a link to one of them.
Sunglasses are insta-makeup in my eyes! I always wear black eyeliner but that's my only makeup "must", but that is impractical in Bonnaroo weather so I just plan to have sunglasses on all the time! Besides that, it will be sunscreen and Burt's Bees... though I will probably bring a little makeup just in case because you never know!
What I am most worried about it that I am the hairiest girl ever, and four days without shaving my legs is like a month for most girls! I know some women who just let the hair flow and that's awesome but I have very dark coarse hair that I am self conscious about and I MUST shave at some point at Roo! I would wax, which lasts longer, but I do a terrible job myself and I don't have the $$$ for the salon. Anyone who has shaved before at Roo have any tips?
It was 85 degrees here today!! I put my bikini top on and got some sun!! Worked in the yard, took my laptop outside.......I can't believe it's not even May yet....45 more days????
Oh well, I did go shopping yesterday....got some cute baby doll tops....on sale even

tottally didn't think of sunglasses... you just saved me so much pondering about logistics (my eyelashes are pretty much non-existantly blond so mascarra is usually a must, but what does it matter if you're wearing sun glasses all the time)
Oh as for shaving... I'm totally bringing my electric, It's a lifesaver, I'm pretty sure I need a new one cause the blades are getitng kinda dull and it has a tendancy to not hold a charge... but it was only like 20 bucks, got it at wallgreens a couple of years ago and It was totally worth it... It is made by Remington and its all purple and pretty... but I know several other companies make women's electric shavers now, and you can use them wet or dry
lucky for me i'm blonde and blue and have fair skin, as long as i shave before i leave on wednesday morning, i'll be good for the weekend.... and no make-up for me, this is the one weekend i don't have to worry about it....

LMAO about the "blue" - you're a smurf - you're supposed to be blue

I took an electric shaver with me but never used it. Believe me, no one is going to notice your stubble If you are really self concious about it, then just go up to the water stations early in the morning when there is no one there and do your shaving there. Shaving your legs or any other part of your body in public is something that is perfectly acceptable - just like anything else at Bonnaroo
i'm sooooo not girly, even at home, so i'll pretty much be given'er in my new bikini top and board shorts, or maybe a canadian flag as a wrap (or maybe a cape?), except at night when i'm gonna wear my big pink wig for latenights, and my princess leia bikini for the masquerade. I'll have my cowboy hat to rock out in too, and pretty much be in flip flops unless it rains, then i have hiking sandals. i'll bring a pair of jeans or two and some comfy pants and maybe something to sleep in (ha! as if i'm going to sleep). that's about all. definately no makeup. i probably wont even brush my hair. ah well.

I haven't been before, but I have the same, coarse dark leg hair that you're talking about.
When I was growing up, we used to shave before gym class with lotion and a razor. It clogs up the razor, but it does work. Just make sure you have enough lotion on there (don't goop it on...just a thin layer will do) or you will get horrible razor burn and/or cuts! It works if you don't want to go to the wash stations to shave. I plan on doing this myself...just remember to bring more than one razor if you plan on shaving more than once!

the boxer briefs under skirts is a great idea! I was wondering what would be best. Thanks!!!
Oh and for those of you that won't buy crocs because they are so ugly (i used to be one of those people) I took the advice and got some this weekend...holy crap they are the most comfortable things I have ever put on my feet!!!
you know, at first I thought ebay would be a good source for me in getting ready for 'roo.
But buying stuff on there still gives me butterflies. I won an auction for a pair of light blue crocs on Saturday and the person who I paid promptly commented me and said "enjoy the dress"
So I'm really scared of what is going to get delivered to me. oy.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
