I know there's a thread about what campsite everyone stayed at, buuuuuuuttt... before the event there was a threed talking about when and where everyone got there in '06 to try to make it easier for everybody in '07.
I was thinking that, while it's still fresh in everyone's minds, we could make a list of what time you got in line and what entrance you went in for what campsite and wether or not you would recomend that same way next year.
Personally, we stoped at a country Inn on wednesday night (15 1/2 hours driving makes you sleepy) and got in line @ 11:30 or so on I-24 and took 2 1/2 hours for the 12 miles to Exit 112 and was in Camp Han Solo right on 2nd and 8th (my favorite street name). I def recomend going that way.
Did people show up for GA on weds night? did they park you way the hell out in BFE or did you get somewhat prime parking?
This thread may be redundant, please lock it if it is. I'm just doing this in the spirit of future research and posterity.

Let's see...we originally got in line at 9:30am on Thursday off of exit 114 (stayed at the Holiday Inn there). We were directed past 112, past 111, past 110, then we were on our own. We turned around at 105 and drove all the way back to 117...we didn't listen to the cop that told us to go to 127 and turn around and went through area designated for locals to exit the highway (there was no way we were going to drive 10 more miles to get in line AGAIN). We finally got in line and waited 2 hours to get in exit 112 and arrived at the "gates" at 12:30pm. We ended up in Camp Chewbacca.
So, the summed-up version is this: Officially got in line at 9:45am Thursday, waited 2(ish) hours in line, got in the gates at 12:30pm and got a spot in Camp Chewbacca. Yes, I recommend this entrance.

stayed at the HIE in Manchester - left the hotel parking lot at approximately 10:00 - pulled out onto I-24 and immediately entered the temporary exit - took us about 15 minutes to go through security and we were in the first RV area just inside the gates - good location

I seem to remember reading somewhere else here on the boards that cops were all lined up from exit 127 down to the campgrounds. Someone even went so far as to suggest they intentionally set up a honey pot trap by putting up "exit for Bonnaroo here" signs along the highway...

I don't know about the "honey pot trap" but I do know that every exit from 110-127 was blocked coming down I-24 from Nashville so you couldn't get off....even when the friggin' sign said use exit 111!

Can't find any posts to back up my "honey pot trap" statement, so feel free to call it a post-Roo hallucination .
We arrived around 7 am thursday and didn't have to wait long in line. We got off at exit 112 and got directed to bushy branch road. I was thinking...oh no...we're going to be in BFE. Waited again for a little while on Bushy branch (maybe 30 minutes) until the gates opened and got to our camping spot pretty quickly. Our campsite was only about a 20 minute walk to centeroo, but was nice because we were right next to an ice vendor, food, and glass, and took the shortcut everytime right through shakedown. It was a great spot.
We were coming from Nashville. Passed the 111 (or 114?) exit around 11:30am, but like others have said all exits were closed until 127.
So we exited there, then were in line ALL the way to roo. Probably 4 hours. We ended up somewhere in Austin Powers area, but close to both Pods 11 and 10.
Did this happen to everyone coming from Nashville? Any tips for next time?

We got special artist directions and didn't have to wait in any line...came up some funky back roads...went right in...it was awesome...now i just need to form a band so I can use that entrance again next year.

We showed up about 10 miles out around 10:30, saw the long line, which didn't look to be making much sense, didn't even see signs saying to wait in these lines, radio bonnaroo was no help at all, so we kept going, it still looked like a mess where exit 112 was supposed to be, we turned around at 111, determined not to go back on the highway, went over the overpass and got in line just on the other side. Once we were off the overpass, we waited in line on the access road for about 2 hours, and then in line in front of the gates for about 1.5 hours, once through the gates, we had to wait for about a half hour until the line got moving and got haphazardly parked in ace ventura, he had the traffic all weird, so he pretty much said to figure it out, we ended up getting a big site with a ton of room, probably at the site at about 4:30.
We left Bristol around 10am on Thursday and ended up in the vicinity around... 2? That's about the time that my husband said we missed the exit (exit 127 where there WAS a honeypot sign saying to exit there) but we decided to go to 112 like the directions said. We sat in line a bit over three hours o the side of the road and ended up around 6pm at Camp Luke Skywalker.
Coming from Indiana (via Nashville), hit the lines on I-24 at 10:00am and crawled along the shoulder for an hour to exit 127. Then broke free for 8 miles or so before getting in another line to the Bushy Branch Road entrance at 1:00pm. Long wait there so I hit my site around 2:00pm. I was the very last car in the farthest row of Camp Goldmember (way, way out in the sticks).
Not complaining though, 'cos I had great morning shade and long sleeps.
We came from the Wal-Mart on exit 114 and accidentally went the WRONG WAY on I-24 (d'oh!), we ended up having to drive for 13 MILES before there was an open exit that we could use to turn around. There was a 2 mile line of traffic just waiting to turn around, it took us about an hour and a half to get through that.
After we turned around, we drove slowly down I-24 and waiting in a 10 mile line of traffic to get to exit 112. That line took approximately 3~3.5 hours, we ended up in Camp Jabba The Hutt near the corner of 7th Ave and 3rd St (I think.....), it was a meager five minute walk from the Centeroo side entrance near the ferris wheel.
Long story short - got in around 3pm, ended up with an awesome spot!

got in line at noon on thursday coming down 55 South...so we were waiting to make the left onto ragsdale. after 3 hours of waiting in that line the cops stopped allowing people to turn, and sent us on 24 East...to exit 127. after another 4 1/2 hours in line on country back roads, we were spit back out onto 24 West around mile 114..in line again. we drove past the temporary exit that was now closed and ended up getting off on 55...8 hours after we had originally gotten in line basically just to turn around. finally get to the campsite Allison Reynolds at 8:30 p.m. worst experience with any line in my life...but pretty much set the tone for the rest of the weekend and waiting to get into centeroo.
Heard on the radio (NPR) they were shutting down exit 111, etc and sending everyone to exit 127 so got off at exit 105 and drove backroad to exit 114. Got on at 114 at 8am exited at 112 after about 10 min wait. Got to Camp Paulie (best site ever, normally tent only) at 9am.
Should add that everyone in front of me was sent to Brushy Branch to park (about 15-20 min walk). The line was stopped at me and sent to Paulie (Can you say Karma!)
Just for the record because I couldn't get the answer to this when I tried this year.
Exit 112 is closed late night on Thursday night/Friday morning (we arrived around 4 am). Exit 111 was the only exit available that evening.
Ahhhhhhhh. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I got in about 11 PM Thursday, and I was like well... somehow I missed exit 112... Wtf? So I turned around and hit 111 from the other direction...
And waited for about 40 minutes in line. Got parked in Camp Clair Standish, which I thought was Camp Luke Skywalker, because of a map misinterpretation. ;D
'06 on line: about 1:00pm Thurs off I-24 (exit 112): about 3:00? (less sure about this, but less wait than this year for -sure-) camp site: darth vader (<8min? to centeroo) '07 on line: about 11:30am Thurs off I-24 (exit 112): about 4:00 camp site: han solo (<10min? to centeroo)
...and i'll take this opportunity to restate my theory that everyone saying arrival time & camp site are totally random is mistaken! there is a system that can be deciphered here...
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
...and i'll take this opportunity to restate my theory that everyone saying arrival time & camp site are totally random is mistaken! there is a system that can be deciphered here...
That's what I'm thinking. If we get enough input from everybody and some SUPER NERD (in the good way) to help compile all this raw info we can all figure out the best way in at the best time, even if it means waiting a few hours on the highway

I did the same damn thing!
We drove west past all the traffic to stop at 114 since I was on bingo fuel and wouldn't be able to sit in line long. While leaving I got turned around and headed east. My friend saw that I was taking the wrong entrance and (smartly) elected to wait for me in the Wal-mart lot. I had to argue with the cop at 127 to let me get back on westbound but convinced him that the rest of my group was at 114. I drove past all the traffic again and re-exited at 114 and re-joined with my friend. From there we were able to enter into the middle of the line ( cheating , I know) and had only 30 minutes to the 112 exit plus another 45 minutes to clear the tollbooths.
So, in short, arrived at Camp Hansel around 8:00 PM Thursday after only about 1 1/4 hour wait in line ( not counting all the time lost because I have no sense of direction).
Last year we were set up and partying by 8:00am Thursday... This year we did the same thing, only a bit ahead of time, and we got in, set up and started partying at 7:30am.. We got in off of 24 at exit 112, and waited no more than 30 minutes each time.. I dont know if its a good strategy or if we just got lucky but I am so thankful, because its sooo nice to get in without hassle and start Bonnaroo off on a good foot... In 05 we waited in line for 6 hours, and kept getting redirected everywhere.. So, again, sooo thankful ;D

We got in town around 7:30am Thursday and kept getting screwed over at every exit (the cops would close the exit like 10 cars in front of us) and finally had to turn around, go down to exit 127 and take back roads for the next two hours. Once we got in, it was definitely a 30 minute walk, just as much as last year....I really gotta figure that parking system out...
Came in 55 from the south around 11 am Thur and got caught in the traffic coming in over I-24 and trying to turn R onto Ragsdale to get on Bushy Branch (apparently they were herding EVERYONE in that way...) waited in line over 3 hours and ended up in RV Camp Roger Murdock, approx 20 min walk to Centeroo, less if you took the shortcut to the Ferris Wheel entrance (which rarely had a line to get in ) not a bad spot at all really.....
