Now I have a question for the people that wore crocs all weekend.... I am a pretty clumsy person, did anyone trip while wearing them on the uneven ground out there??
I did quite a bit of tripping in my sanuks, but never had any problems with stumbling
"Do you see my smokin' guns? They're smokin from a shootin', smokin' from shootin', smokin' from shootin' at nothin dear, Do you live your life on the run? Losin out on lovin. Askin for nothin, Runnin from something that isn't there." --My Morning Jacket--
I think for next year I'm going to wear the Birkenstock sandals with the backstrap. I have small feet so I'm going to order the kids size. My regular slip on birks are the largest kids size. I think the backstrap on here will be nice. I wanna get them soon so they'll be REALLY broken in by June. The older the Birkenstocks the more comfortable they are.

^^^I wore Birk sandals to a couple 'roos, and while they work OK one must be VERY careful about the straps rubbing your feet raw. If you're planning on wearing your Birks all weekend, make sure you bring lots of moleskin.
I fully endorse Crocs as well. I wore them for the first time this year, and they were just perfect. They are so lightweight and comfortable, never rubbed me or bothered me, hever had trouble walking in them or them falling off. And by far the biggest advantage is that they are waterproof. More than once this year I'd walk into a tent during a show, see that the audience was scrunched over to one side to avoid the big muddy puddle on the other, and just go chill in that puddle with an awesome view of the stage. When the show was over I'd just wash my feet and shoes off in the fountain. Plus with all that mud treatment and exfoliation, my feet look twenty years younger!
Birkenstock rubber flipflops...wore them for four days straight, including to shower, and didn't have any problems (except a flip flop tan from not reapplying sunscreen).
I did the Crocs...Mind you I thought they were the ugliest things on earth, and would never be caught dead wearing them. Well my brother surprised me with a pair before our first roo in 2007. I wore them and loved them. Then IT happened in 2008, I had a nice new pair and found myself in the Against me! pit. I rolled my ankle in a BAD way. Ankle was funked up pretty bad. So I am thinking of going a different route if I decide to see a heavy show, I will not be wearing my crocs.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

I wore my birks with backstrap my first year at Roo and will never do so again..... I have had them years and they are the most comfortable shoes I own. (I have the same ones that you linked BTW). Having said that, you underestimate how much you walk at Roo and also the heat will swell your feet. I had the worst blisters ever from my beloved Birks.
I bought Crocs (with adjustable velcro backstrap) and more recently Keens and both have been wonderful for Roo.
I have to say - I had crocs last year - but not the ugly ones - I had croc sandals and they are comfy and not ugly at all - thent he dog ate one of them last month
The only reason I got a blister from wearing crocs was because I had a hard time keeping gravel out of them. Other than that, I really am afraid to wear anything else because my feet swell so bad. I have a noticeable scar on my foot from a different pair of sandals I took with me this year. Thank God I had the Crocs, too! And I totally trip over my feet all weekend, but that isn't an anomaly for me. I'm clumsier than Gerald Ford.
I'm gonna look into some of them there Chacos, though. They look comfy.

Seriously - check out these Crocs
I have really bad ankles and have had surgery twice on one of them - it is permenantly swollen - these were so comfortable and no problems with gravel getting stuck in them
I actually found some Croc heels! AHAHAHAHA!! I might have to buy them and wear them at Roo. That's some high class stuff, yo!
Also, if anyone is looking to buy Chaco's, Crocs, Sanuks, Tevas or whatever other kind of shoe you Roo with, check out www.6pm.com to get some seriously discounted shoes!

one of the best things about chacos is that the straps are fully ADJUSTABLE. it's basically one big strap that loops around throughout the sandal, so you can adjust it at ANY point, not just the top strap. i loosened mine up a few times throughout the weekend, very helpful
they are seriously the best, i dunno how this is even up for debate
for reference, all the details (but you can probably find them cheaper elsewhere): www.rei.com/product/734040
I have this style in brown and wore them the whole time at Roo last year, never had an issue at all. Easy to clean and stayed on my feet with no slippage. I like these more because they are more feminine than regular crocs and also run in women's sizes.
I definitely wore the Mary Jane Crocs. I love 'em. I'll probably get a pair of Chacos to take with me next year, but still have the Crocs (Seriously considering getting the Croc heels. Too funny!). After what that expensive pair of sporty sandals did to my foot, I won't risk taking only one kind of shoe that hasn't proved itself worthy to me. It may work for everyone else, but I'm a skeptic. I must experience the comfort for myself. Since Chacos are so adjustable, they might work out great for me. My feet are pretty flat. I only have a slight arch on the inside of my foot, so shoes that can hug my feet in some way are awesome. Rocket Dogs are possibly the best at this. I LOVE Rocket Dog shoes! LOVE THEM! But they aren't really festival friendly, so I have to leave them at home. *tear*

yup these are the ones I ordered for $68 from zappos! the only thing I had trouble deciding on is the color... thankfully they have free shipping both ways so I can always send them back if I hate it and I won't loose the sale price ;D

These are the ones that gave me the blister, so I would just recommend that if you fall in a half size, order up! They are super cute, I was very sad they didn't fit. No other crocs have ever bothered me, I loooove crocs flip flops.
Cheers to the Sanuks! I was a full on Crocs supporter but after last year, and the support and comfort my sanuks provided me, I think I'm jumping ship.
