im contemplating getting a pair of these Sanuks just a question though...whenever I were flats and do A LOT of walking the back of the shoe usually cuts my heel open...very painful. The sanuks look more like a cloth material as opposed to the hard backs that my shoes have...but I just want to do a double check.

I'm considering buying a pair of Sunuks as well, with all the raving I've heard.
Just curious how the sizes run..ex: do you wear a 7 normally but buy a 6 in them etc.....I hate purchasing shoes on line and never knowing if they will fit or not... blah blah blah

^^They run a little small. One website I saw said a half size and another said a whole size. I usually wear a 8 1/2 so I ordered my Sanuks in a 9 and they're perfect.
I usually stick with the Chacos and have recently bought a pair of Sanuks, which are amazing.. Butttt, my feet get a bit too hot, and i think wearing them at 'Roo wouldn't be a good idea..

Anyone have that problem?
Depends on the style...the Surfers come with little air vents on the sides that do wonders for keeping our feet cool, but a buddy of mine got a pair last year that were canvass, but didnt have them. So he took a very sharp razor and cut a few slits along the side and over the toes. Problem solved.

I say Chacos all the way. I'm bringing my flip flops and my strappy chacos, and they are the greatest. For anyone who loves flip flops, these are a bit pricey, but they will last you for years. They have really sturdy soles, nothing is going to pierce them, and they hold up with lots of heavy walking. I guess if you like your toes to be covered in the super humid heat that we get down south, then maybe you should go with those canvas shoes...

Don't bust on "those canvass shoes" unless you have tried them. I've worn both Chacos and Sanuks for long periods, and for pure comfort over time Sanuk's simply can't be beat. Plus they actually provide some small protection for you feet/toes should you get stepped on whilst grooving to the tunes...which happened to me more than once last year. Factor in the fact that they cost about 1/2 as much as your average pair of Chacos and there's not much competition.

^^^ I listened to you last year and you the man! I wear those surfers all the time and they are BY FAR the most comfortable shoe I've ever had. I'll be looking for a new pair this year.
Aww, well I stand by my Chacos anyhow...but I suppose if you prefer that feel then the sanuks are best. I know though, that I'm not alone in preferring sandals over closed-toe shoes. (I have owned some sanuks, but they were some super girly flip-flops). I've had worse bodily injury from dancing hippies than getting my toes stepped on--someone at Les Claypool in Atl a few years ago (when Trey came out w/him) actually rammed me so hard, they knocked the beer bottle that I was holding into my mouth, breaking my tooth!! I know that's off-topic, but justy know I wasn't being rude in my Chaco love
last year i wore my birks and they held up really great all weekend except for when it rained, i wore either cheap flipflops then or my rubber booties.
there are some sanuks on sale . there are sidewalk surfers and sandals. they have some sidewalk surfers for women for 14.99 and i think you get 20% of if you are a new customer. i see some mens brown loafers that were 60 and are on sale for 19.99. these would nto work for roo because they are sorta suede but they are really nice looking in person - nice enough to wear to work. i got my dad and brother some for christmas and they look like normal loafters but they are comfortable like sanuks
if that doesnt go to the ones on sale...just go to seirra trading posts website and then put sanuks in the search engine. then you can sort by price. this is a great company. once you order from them they keep sending you coupons. you can put stuff in your basket and watch for them to mark it down. so if you see something that you want you can watch for various markdowns til it goes low enough for you to order.
these specific shoes are on clearance so i dont think id wait to order these - but they have other stuff that would be good for roo
