lol, carpedm01 is too funny, someone should write to Sanuks to let them know about your consumer advocacy. They should give you a free pair every year
lol...you're like the 5th person to suggest that over the course of this thread. But no worries, the only reward I need is for my fellow Roo'ers to be comfy all weekend. Sore feet suck!

i wear nothing but my "jc style" rope sandals from nomadicstate.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=2 . in 05 when it rained pretty good and made all that mud, i wore my ropes and they never came off my feet walking through all of it. they are super light weight and i feel like it's the next best thing to going barefoot. the only thing is when they get wet, they stay wet, until you leave them out in the sun for several hours. i'll be bringing a pair of rain boots along this year for any possible mud fiascos.
Just ordered a pair of Sanuks, hope they rock! I'll probably take along my pair of Nomadic State "JC" rope sandals and maybe some old lace-up tennis shoes, in addition to my new Sanuks, just to be safe.

I bought a pair of these last year after my sandals were giving me problems and they were sooooo comfortable. But like you said when it rains and they get wet they do take awhile to dry which did present some problems when it rained Friday night but other then that I cant recommend then enough. I will be bringing a pair again this year plus some tennis shoes for when/if it rains.
really want to love the Sanuuks but after trying them on all different sizes I just can't do it. They just don't feel comfy on my feet. Too constraining and constricting on my sensitive feet. Even like a pair 2 sizes too big just did not feel good at all. In a bit of a dilema right now got some Keens and in the store they seemed fine but now they are hurting the tops of my feet. Woe is me why is it such a hassle for me to buy shoes? this sucks Crocs feel great but gave me blisters last year. My feet were sweating massively in them in that TN heat. Anyone else get this problem with Crocs or any of these other problems I am experiencing with these other shoes for that matter?

In '07, my ballet style Crocs did just fine, but last year they mysteriously started rubbing my little toes raw. I decided to look at some Sanuks and wanted to try some on. Just to warn middle TN folks, the REI in Brentwood doesn't stock women's Sidewalk Surfers. I checked Binks, and they only had size 9's and only white Plain Jane's. Buckle had more sizes in stock, but they were all cold weather styles, but I got to try some on for sizing (and they were super, super nice). Ordered from Zappos, and got 'em in today. Here's hoping they work out better!
Yeay I had those exact ones last year, I'm sure you'll love them!
I do love them! I was afraid they were going to be too tight at first, but they've broken in FABULOUSLY. Love 'em love 'em love 'em. I have a hard time finding shoes that work, so I'm beyond pleased.

While I love my Sanuks, and find my Crocs to be extra comfortable, neither did me any favors last year!
The combo didn't give my ankles enough support and they ended up swelling up by Sunday night. I also agree that my feet got very hot in the Crocs. I am going to bring my Sanuks again because they are sweet, but this year I think I am going to be rocking some lightweight, breathable, running/jogging shoes most of the time... Now just to find that pair...
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

I tought the same thing when I bought my pair, but they have broken in wonderfully. They are so light on your feet. No shoe is perfect, which is why I'll probably change shoes at least once a day.

Well I ordered some Sanuk Drifters, got them in an 8, which was the lowest size that Amazon had, even though I usually wear like a 7.5. They were a bit large when I got them but I decided to wear them around and see how it worked out. Ended up falling down and breaking a small bone in my foot. haha. HOWEVER, they are extremely comfortable, going to order a size 7 and give them another chance, hopefully without breaking any more bones before Roo..

I know everyone's saying crocs, but if you want something more open, Tevas are the way to go. I've been to Bonnaroo three times and finally wised up last year and bought some nice Tevas. The previous two years I got horrible blisters from wearing cheap flip flops, but my Tevas were soooo super comfortable and gave me no blisters - amazing! They'll stay on your feet even if it's raining, and they also have great traction. Last year when it was raining, my friends were slipping all over those boardwalks they had around the camps, but I was fine in my Tevas.
Actually I think it's a split decision between Sanuks and Tevas right now. Crocs are both ugly, uncomfortable over the long run and dangerous as they tend to slip off your feet. IMO they should all be confiscated on the way into the grounds.

They don't slip off your feet if you get the adjustable straps ;D

new to the board, second year at roo, hi everybody . I had a pair of Sanuks and I loved them. Only problem was I wore them all the time and they got some holes in the bottoms. But I am thinking about getting another pair, didn't wear them at roo last year but thinking they'd be great for it.

I posted this in some other thread, but I bought a pair of sanuks and they are amazing comfortable but I wore them to a 3 hour show the other night and my feet were killing me afterwards. Granted, i was standing on a concrete floor.

Yea...that's the thing about Sanuks, they are not THE BEST concert shoe, esp. not on a hard floor. I wore mine to a Gogol Show last summer after 'Roo and had sore feet...but maybe that was from all the jumping around. Anyway, they are also not the BEST walking shoe ever, or the MOST breathable shoe, or the BEST shoe in the world for mud or rain, or the BEST shoe to keep your feet protected....
...HOWEVER, what I love about them is that they are very GOOD for all those things. In place like Bonnaroo, I would rather have one shoe that does all those things really well, rather than five diff. pairs. Plus i think it's hard to argue that once broken in, they are some of the most comfortable shoes you can put on your feet.

Tevas for me all the way this year. Getting back to my roots. I'd been going to fests in Tevas all through the late eighties and nineties them and Birkenstocks. I'll bring the Keens they seem to work out ok (just got them 2 months ago) but they do bother my feet when its hot out and my feet get sweaty so I'm thinking not great for 'roo. I had to go to the crocks with socks on Sun last year was getting some blisters from wearing them and sweating in them all day without. Only way I could be comfortable was to resort to wearing socks.

Just bought a pair of hemp sidewalk surfers. They feel great and are very comfortable. the only problem is, when i walk my big toe touches the end of shoe and rubs against it. its not uncomfortable or anything like that, im just wondering how these are suppose to fit. is there suppose to be alot of toe room and fit loosely?

Not a huge amount of toe room no, and if have the hemp style, don't even worry. Wear them a week and once they break in I'm betting your toe wont touch anymore.
