I hate crocs and refused to wear them until I seen these ones. They are the most comfortable shoes I ever wore...and not ugly like the regular crocs
yeah. theyre like Sanuks. but i honestly think the Crocs are more my style. I'm more a kid-friendly, sporty shoe type. I wear sneakers all the time, and don't mind the look of Crocs so long as they end up fitting me right. Hopefully will go try some on, along with Fivefingers and others I see, at REI and/or Hudson Trail Outfitters either tomorrow night or Friday.
WOW! How weird! Just finished reading this thread and got a call from the post-office saying my Fivefingers arrived! (I know, this place is not online-consumer-friendly) So excited, gonna pick'em up on saturday and give u guys the lowdown...
For their first test run, Five fingers destroyed my feet... granted it was an intense gym session and i was forewarned about a 'break-in' period. There were moments where I realized what they'd feel like when fully broken in and I completely recommend... Unless any toe is 1/5th an inch longer than ur big toe.. then its just not doable. Surely, a completely diff experience and surreal on carpet or grass. I hope this helps a lil
Weird! remember how i said i got size 8-9 crocs and I said they were huge on me?
I remember them looking almost like clown shoes, ridiculously big... and now...tried them on before I sold them on Craigslist...and they fit. Did my feet swell a little? haha... I'm so confused how this happened, but i guess it's a good thing. Now I just gotta get used to the ugly look...maybe get some Jibbitz.
I think I'm still gonna check out REI and/or Hudson Trail Outfitters for their shoes though... Just in case I find an affordable shoe I like better.

I wore my barely broken in Chacos all weekend at Hangout. My feet were never sore. I did wear my Chacos flips one day and got a blister. In fact, it's in the same spot as my never healed Bonnaroo blister/scar from last year.

First time going to Bonnaroo any one have past experience with Birkenstock's? They've never done me wrong in the past.
Dallas, jenkazoo's husband, wears birks. I think they're fine unless it rains a lot. I have some, but don't wear them at roo, 'cause they are not all day+night comfortable for me.

I really just liked wearing a nice broken in pair of skate shoes that I didn't mind getting dirty or muddy. I had more blisters and problems the one and only day I tried to wear flip flops everywhere
I can't see myself wearing anything but flip flops. Thats all i wear summer spring and fall. I walk alot in them and can't see them hurting my feet. Hmmmmm..... maybe i should bring something else incase. But i dont see myself doing the crocs thing. maybe sneakers or tevas?
I hear you on the flip flops--I'm from Florida so they're a way of life. I wore flip flops the whole time last year and I was fine, but I definitely recommend bringing a couple different pairs/types in case one starts to rub you the wrong way. I brought my old busted converse with me, and only used them when it was pouring out.

I have Birk sandals with the backstrap. Had them for years and were the most comfortable shoes ever. I wore them to my first Roo and had the worst blisters and swollen feet (although we did have a 40 minute walk to Centeroo).
Then I discovered Keens!! Most wonderful shoes ever! I used to swear by my Birks but not anymore.
As I've said before, Crocs are great as long as you don't mind A) Looking ridiculous B ) Having people step all over them in crowds because of how much clunkier they make your feet. Consider this - if Sanuks weren't so great, why would Crocs be trying to imitate them with their new style shoes?
FTW!!
(though I will say this - I recently bought a pair of Vibram Five Fingers, strictly for late night dancing etc. I wore them around today and I love them)

I think Crocs is trying to imitate them to expand their product line and make more money. I completely agree that they look ridiculous, and I never wear them outside of festivals and water sports (rafting, tubing, etc.). I've worn them to all but 1 Bonnaroo and have always been glad I did.
You forgot to mention the water resistance of the shoes in your picture. Last year the mud and rain were no match for my rubber-ish monstrosities.

Doc Martens. I wore cheap GBX shoes for my first Roo and regretted it for weeks to follow. Walking to and from BFE every day with blisters that looked like water balloons on the bottoms of my feet was pure hell. Docs are the way to go. May be a little on the warm side but your feet will thank you.

^^How much better do you think the Five Fingers will be for dancing compared to sanuks? I've always thought Sanuks couldn't be beat when it comes to dancin' shoes. But you seem to like Sanuks as much as I do, so...your thoughts?
Follow up question: do you think you'd be able to kick a soccer ball around in five fingers?

Sanuks ARE great dancing shoes, provided you aren't dancing in a REALLY compact crowd. The ONLY weak point I've ever noticed is that if you are in a Gogol Bordello pit, or dancing anywhere else that people are right on top of you (Girl Talk last year for example) occasionally you're heel will get stepped on and pull the back of the shoe down. Not off completely - just enough to be annoying. I got the Vibram's because I anticipate lots of close late-night dancing this year, and I didnt want to deal with that.
As so kicking a soccer ball...I don't think so man. They're sturdy, but I bet that would hurt your foot.

I have a three year old pair of sneakers, which are beaten to hell. I figured this might be worthwhile. Especially since there are holes in them. Nothing fancy, already well more than broken in, probably can dump them once the weekend is over.
I might go for cheap slip-ons too. Need to check out Target or Walmart in case of rain in the forecast.
i would recommend crocs, the standard ones are pretty ugly, but they come in so many styles now, you could prob find one that was to your likeing... Also I would take at least a couple different shoes just to switch it up, diff pressure points etc, crocs are really comfortable but walking constantly in any shoe can get tiring on your feets ;D
