I have to say Matt was right about the Sanuks. I had no foot soreness at all this year. My calves were achy due to my procrastination about getting on the treadmill but my feet felt super all weekend.
My Sanuks were the best, too. Tried Crocs (too 'slidey' = blisters) and my Saucony running shoes (too confining) but ended up going with the Sanuks most of the weekend.

Next year I'm getting hiking boots (and high socks, for the bonnarash). Wore Tevas, fake Toms, and sneakers and my lower back was KILLING ME by Saturday. I'm still kinda messed up from it. I guess I'm officially an old... need those sensible shoes!
I always try to wear a pair of sneakers with shocks to the roo, especially on the nights when I end up working Venue medical instead of the tents.
Yeah...tennis shoes are the best imo. Sanuks are great for walking, and I'll wear danners too (which just feel like heavy tennis shoes to me).
Tried the sandals approach, but between foot fatigue and that sneaky rock that ruins your heel, I'm done with that. And people that go barefoot wtf...ouch! I have to imagine their weekends are wrecked after a night of that....

I had a pair of teva hiking sandals that were MUCH better than the flip flops and rope sandals I wore last year. My feet were the only part of me that didn't ache at some point this year!

just picked up the carpeDM sanuks for superball this weekend...bought my first sanuks because of this forum, and saw carpe on the tag and figured id say what's up to everyone and rip carpeDM
Couldn't have been happier with my sanuks. I brought 2 pair to keep the sweat and in turn stink down. Turns out goldbond medicated works great for foot odor. LMAO.
ITM- I put both my pairs through the washing machine on hot twice and they came out looking brand new after the second cycle.
All I can say, just like always is SANUK's are the best, everything else pales in comparison to them. They are affordable , durable and some of the most comfortable if not THE most comfortable sandals on the market.
This year my car and camp site were 30 minutes apart, and not once did the walk to BFE result in any back pain or foot pain. WHY? SANUK's.
i had some crappy adidas flip flops in 09 i ended up ditching and just went barefoot but this year i had some vibram five fingers n they were great 4 days straight
My Carpe DM Sanuks and Crocs Cleo II Sandals were both aaamazing. The Sanuks kept my feet covered, which was really nice, but letting my feet breathe in the sandals was refreshing, too. It was nice to have options. I will bring both again this year.
Tom's and Sanuk are comparable in price but it looks like a ton of people really swear by their Sanuk sidewalk surfers. I need one or the other for this year.

Wear straight up thong flip flops. It gets so muddy at times anything that attaches to the ankle can be a problem. I like to slip em off and just slip n slide around through the mud, but yeah, that is a little bit stupid now that I think about those times. I can't fucking wait.
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
If you enjoy wearing thong flip flops you have to get the Sanuk Yoga Mat sandals. These things are sooo comfy! They have them in mens too, they are called Beer Cozies. I promise they're worth every penny you'll spend on them.

Some of the boys who camped next to us wore them and they almost kissed me when I gave them moleskin for their awful blisters. I didn't ask if they had worn them before roo to break them in, though.
had anyone worn these at Roo? Id worry about blisters on the heel/ankle. Are they pretty well padded there? Id totally rock a pair of these
The Komodo Sport model is what i wear for about 7 months out of the year. I have never gotten a blister from them. Last year, I wore them to Roo and switched to my Sanuks about 6 hrs in. Even with the thicker sole on the KS, I could feel every single rock on the ground. Still LOVE my KS, but I can't do them in Centeroo.
I wore Nike Air max tennis shoes last year because I'm always on my feet at work & they're the most comfortable shoes I've found (never given me any problems)...they were well broken in & for some reason i got the WORST blister at 'roo. I'm definitely getting a pair of Sanuks this year so thanks everyone!!

my ksos during the day and new balance tennis shoes. late night shows i get more active and into crowd don't like getting feet smashed while wearing ksos
I have tried several pairs of shoes but my problem is usually leg pain after walking and standing after a long day. I suppose this goes back to my lack of proper conditioning before Roo. I am going to try Sanuks since they seem to be highly rated on here. Any suggestions about how to handle the leg pain would be great. Thanks!
About the Sanuks, how are they on sizing? If I wear a 7 in a tennis shoe, can I get a 7 in the Sanuks or do they run larger/smaller?
I have a really high arch on my foot, so I don't know if this throws off the sizing at all, but I wear usually a 13 or 13W in tennis shoes and a 13 in Sanuks. Check your local shoe stores to see if they have a pair. I found a newer outlet store in Knoxville that carried them, so I was able to check the sizing before I ordered from Amazon.
