I wore Mary Jane Crocs when we were just standing around, walking it was all about my Chacos. Feet were hurting Thursday night with only my Chacos, switched my shoes up each day after that (about halfway through the day I'd throw on the Crocs for a bit of a break, then put Chacos on after a few hours) and it was perfect.
I just bought a pair of Keen Balboa sandals, and thanks to the freakishly warm temps, I've had the chance to give them a go. They are amazing. I put them on when I get home from work because they are so comfortable. They are legitmately so comfortable, I really don't care how unattractive they are, and I have worn them four or five times in the past 6 days.
I also bought a pair of Teva Churn Amphibious Shoes. My boyfriend had a pair last year and he said they were great.
Last year I wore Toms and Sperry Topsiders and it was not enough support/ cushion. My feet were really swollen after day 1. I would just suggest making sure you have a lot of support with your shoes and something that is very breathable.

I wore bikila Vibram FiveFingers last year and the only thing I didn't like about them was sand would get in them, but I don't think there is a shoes that wouldn't. They were great though. Many people told me they were a bad idea but my back as knees felt great.
I'll probably switch between those and New Balance minimalists this year.
Not dealing with socks is big, sprinkle some gold bond and GO

I wore these all day last year at Roo. They were great. The only thing is my legs hurt by the end of the day but I think that was more from standing on tiptoe for so many of the shows (thanks tall guys). They were easy to clean or kick off when I needed to stretch. I wore them for all of freefest and they stayed on in the mud too. I found them for 12 bucks shipped at a clearance sale last year.

Abrakapokus--Hey! I was LITERALLY hopping on this thread to inquire about those EXACT same flops you posted. I saw they were on sale at endless.com and I was going to check and see if anyone had an opinion. I know tevas are pretty legit and relatively affordable, so I thought they'd be a good choice.
With this being my first 'Roo, I am a little unsure as to which shoes to wear. At other festivals, I've gotten away with chucks, toms and everyday flip flops, but from what I understand, comfy shoes are a MUST at 'Roo. Glad to know you approve

Yea. Tall people always want to try to get in front of me. The shock on their face when I let them get settled and step right back in front of them is priceless.
Sanuks...trust me, I've tried everything else, and a good pair of "sidewalk surfers" is absolutely the way to go. You dont want the flops, but the canvas "shoe" style. They're light, uber comfy, well vented (so you dont get swamp foot), dry out quick if they get wet, wont give you blisters, but also wont randomly fall off your foot either. And best of all, you dont have to be seen wearing Crocs in public!
yeah sanuks are the best, i had a pair of holy molys last year and they were perfect. The first day i wore a pair of flops and my toes were so sore and they kept coming off, then i put on the sanuks and they were so much better.
the holy moly sanuks are amazing, really light and they are full of holes for ventilation, i highly recommend them if you can find them.

I usually wear flip flops until I get into Centeroo, and then just take my shoes off. There's no glass, so you might occasionally step in some food or something, but going barefoot is THA best. Though, now that I think about it, I'm kind of amazing at myself for walking around calve-deep in mud, barefoot. That was probably hella dangerous. In any case, Old Navy Flip flops FTW!

I think I only wore leather flip flops from American Eagle when I was at Bonnaroo in 2010 and I don't remember my feet hurting at all...however I did have the most insane sunburn of my entire life so I guess the part of my brain that registers pain was pretty much only focused on that, haha.

Where did you find them for $12, if I can ask?
Just saw this post so sorry for the late response. I found them through REI on clearance. I think it was someone on this page who actually linked the sale. I'll be buying another pair even if I have to play full price but the ones from last year are still going strong.

chacos sandals are great for hanging at the campsite and then going to the bathrooms and stuff. wouldnt necessarily recommend wearing them in crowds of people jumping and what not. cant go wrong with the sperrys, always comfortable
Closed-toed so you don't mangle your foot on any rocks or tent stakes, and it doesnt hurt if the guy in front of you stomps on you, supportive so your feet don't hurt, adjustable so they really stay on your feet when you're dancing and moshing, water friendly so you can wade through mud and rinse them off and wear them in the shower, and still basically sandals so they breathe and keep you cool and it's easy to get pebbles and sand out by just shaking your foot.

I wore those same ones last year only in black. I can't stand any kind of shoe when it's hot and normally go barefoot whenever I can, but isn't really realistic at Roo so I just go the flip flop route. My feet and whole body hurt in general from not being in the best shape but no problems with those flip flops at all - I thought they worked great!

Agreed on the Holy Molys... I got a pair last year and they are holding up better than any other sanuk I've had, they're hella hard to find though since they don't make them anymore... On another note. I'm getting married in April and for Groomsmen's gifts I bought everybody a pair of vegabond stitch sanuks to wear in the wedding. Thats how much I love them
I'm the proud owner of 2 pairs of Sanuks, the Shuffle & the Plain Jane II. I wear them everyday, even to work. I so wish I had had them last year for my 1st Bonnaroo. Now I need to find my husband some for his first trip to the farm!
I bought Sanuks after recommendations on this page. I got them in and absolutely love them. They are so comfortable! I did have to get them a size smaller than my normal tennis shoe size but they are great and I highly recommend them. I haven't had a Roo experience in them yet but for everyday wear, they're great.
Serious advice needed - I have shit feet, like handicap placard to go to Roo shit feet. I used to be a birkenstock girl but have been told by the doc they're no good for my feet (blasphemy I know). I found some Dansko sandals that I adore (Lolita) and now that I need to replace them I learn that they've been discontinued.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I'm not a very pleasant person when I'm in pain
