Sanuks. I love the comfort and breathablity. They can easily be kicked off to go barefoot if wanted (I do this once we get a spot at a stage).
I want to get a pair this year. Anywhere I can find them on the cheaper side?
I posted this in another thread, but is definitely relevant here:
www.OnlineShoes.com is a great website for buying shoes if you don't have the money to splurge.
They have a Payment Plan that's interest free, so if something is $60 you can elect to pay $5 / month and have it automatically deducted, like Netflix.
I don't work for the company, I just happen to buy a lot of shoes I can't really afford.
Just wanted to let you guys know, they do have Sanuks

Amazon often has select styles/colors/sizes for pretty cheap. I've had luck there and just found a pair I love for about $30, but you do have to search a bit. Shoemall.com has had some good deals lately, not sure about Sanuks though.
I scored a pair of these for $9.00 at the Sportsman Warehouse. They make my feet look like mutant lobster claws but they are oh, so comfy...have any of y'all worn something like this at 'Roo?
ps. Don't wear them around your yard if you got dogs...there are drainage holes on the bottom and when you step in the dog shiz it oozes up thru the holes...

If you're cornered about dog shit, just wait til you get near the mess that is late-night porta potty rows. Can get pretty messy. Not sure that I'd want the mystery liquid on the ground seeping through the drainage holes in my shoes ????

I've worn the Vibram 5 Fingers at Bonnaroo. They started off very comfortable but towards the end of the day the soles of my feet were very sore. If you prefer comfort over cuteness, nothing really beats an old broken in pair of tennis shoes/sneakers.
How long do I need to break in a pair of birkenstocks? I saw a cute pair and don't mind spending extra money for them if they keep my feet comfy, which I have heard they do.
I've pretty much worn the same shoes for the last three years and they wont be very roo friendly, so I bought a pair of tevas and I was wondering if I'd be okay with just the tevas at bonnaroo?? I rarely like shoes so I don't have a lot of options and I'm sort of anxious about it haha.

I wore just my tevas last year and survived I plan on doing it again this year
EDIT: if possible, start walking around in them now to break them in, just in case!

This X a million
It isn't so much about finding the "best" pair of shoes, I've realized, as it is breaking in the best pair of shoes you've got access to. Trench foot can be difficult to deal with if you're at shows from noon til sunrise, and Blisters can be easily avoided by building up your foots padding. Tevas are especially like this - a couple pressure points on them will ruin your feet after only a day. To combat this, get the pair that calls your name most but make sure you walk a 5-10k stretch daily between now and June in order to have your feet properly conditioned.
Feet are the easiest, most glaringly obvious way to make or break a festival weekend - preparation is key

Exactly! Last year I bought my tevas and walked every day in them when I got off from work. They went with me this year to beale street bc my fancy chacos killed my feet day 1.
I also just wanted to say for anyone wearing shoes and not sandals, back in my long distance running days... I would apply vaseline to my feet before putting my socks on. It feels odd at first, but it prevents any blisters from forming. I guess you could do the same thing in sandals but people would notice the oily feet and dirt would probably stick to you as well.

I've read so much about making sure they're broken in which is why I bought them in winter time hahah. I just didn't know if there was some sort of "YOU'LL REGRET ONLY BRINGING SANDALS" thing I needed to be aware of

Which kind did you buy? The ones I had last year had hard bottoms which kind of sucked but nothing too bad and that i couldn't deal with. This year I bought a different pair with a foam bottom and they are basically heaven in a sandal. None of the straps ever rubbed me. If it would start, I just had tightened them too much and loosen them and boom, problem solved. You might take a back up pair of shoes just in case. This will never fail you.

I always bring several pairs of shoes to Roo just in case I get blisters (and it has happened, even with a good broken in pair of shoes). I bring flip flops for around camp, and crocs/Keens/Sanuks for Centeroo day wear. I try to switch to sneakers at night because to me there is nothing more comfy than a pair of sneakers and after being on my feet all day, that's what I want.
I think I'm going to invest in some Birks for Roo. Is it unreasonable to think I can break them in in a month if I take them out for a walk each night?
