Those look nifty! I still want to get myself a new pair before 'Roo...maybe if I send the Sanuk people a link to this thread, they'll hook me up!

Alright, I got my "last straw" sanuks (pictured above) in the mail today and wore them around. they look very good and would look good for bonnaroo or more formal occasions. my best way to describe them (bare with me) is to imagine that sandals are a convertible.......sanuks are sandals with the convertible top up. the sole is the exact same as any sandal but instead of straps to keep your foot in place, there is a roof of canvas (and woven straw in my case). they do run a bit small. i ordered a 13 whereas i usually wear a 12.5 and it seems to be the right fit. the factor that is going to determine the 'rooability' of these shoe is wether or not my foot can become accustomed to the ankle strap. if so, then these will definitely do the trick for bonnaroo. in 2006 i wore my birkenstocks and by friday night i had some pretty nasty blisters so hopefully these will solve the problem. i definitely reccomend them.

If you're going to wear All Stars or Vans or something like that, get some of the insoles that you put in over the existing insole. I did this last year in a pair of Circa skate shoes and it made them so comfy I was able to walk basically forever.
The insoles I got were just like a flat, green piece of foam that you trim to make fit. Even though it was less than 1/4 inch thick, it added so much comfort to the shoes.
I am going to wear the same shoes this year, but I am going to get me a fresh cut of the insoles and also glue the soles back on (I wore them out doing yardwork)
Crocs has a new line called "Ocean Minded"---true flips flops (Reef-like). I have been a Reef loyalists all my life and I am now converted. These are the best flip flops I have owned. I have scoliosis and my back hurts after walking in flip flips all day---but not in these my friends!! They keep my feet surprisingly cool and they are much softer than they look. They are not "croc-like" at all...we have Croc kioks here in Colorado so I got to try them on first, but man o man I love them. I own the "Seaweed" ones.

I went to REI and saw the Sanuks.... they were SO FREAKING HUGE looking when they are on your feet. I tried on some Crocs as well and they felt just awful on my feet... all sticky and blisters waiting to happen. I'll stick with my chucks + running socks for now.
I just got my Sanuks in yesterday! They rock! Thanks for the heads up on the sweet kicks, Karma for you!
I have a question though... The little tag that came with the shoes had a tag with a picture of two dudes (whom I assume own the company) on the inside. One of them is named Donavon Frankenreiter... Is he the same guy playing at Bonnaroo this year?!?
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

Nice shoes! I got the same ones in both colors! Its the same guy playing, he is a member of their surf team!
Dude, I seriously can't concentrate on anything but bonnaroo right now. . .It's to the point where I'm poking myself in the eye with foreign objects. . . I think I just need to be sedated until Tuesday. . . . Dystopian Dream
Aqua Socks for the wet. Brilliant Karma for that. I hadn't thought of that possibility. Do you get the over the ankle ones or the regular shoe/below the ankle kind?

I tried crocs on and they just don't fit me right. the XL size 10-11 is like half an inch too small, and the XXL 12-13 is like half an inch too big.
are there any other sizes for crocs?
they are supposed to be kind of loose and too wide for your foot
If you wear a half size some styles won't fit well. I have the mary janes cause they come in whole sizes rather than S M L. I want the other style, just no worky for me.

I think I'm going to do the aqua socks thing. Not sure if I'll go with the cheap ones or over the ankle ones. hmmmmm. Luckily I live in San Diego, and there is an abundance of stores which sell these here.
Considering the wet forecast, I'm planning on wearing either: A) My 8yr old Red Wing boots (best pair of boots I've ever owned) -or- B) My Gor-tex Asolo hikers. (2nd best pair I've ever owned)
Bringing Tivas for in between and a pair of Asics if it's brutally hot. --- And, yeah, Crocs make me feel like I'm walking on glass.
Crocs are not my cup of tea. Comfort may be more important than looks, but Jesus, they are friggin' hideous, IMO....shoulds left 'em to the doctors, and chefs.....and thanks to this thread, I saw Sanuks at my local outdoor store, and picked up a pair for $34.....
