CSNY is a must. When i saw them in Atlanta they played for a good 3 1/2 hours. I would love for Wilco to be in Oysterhead's slot and CSNY to be in Tom Petty.
Sigur Ros, Built To Spill, Liars, Sparklehorse latenight
Arcade Fire headling Which Stage on Friday
Magnolia Electric Company, Bonnie Prince Billy, Neko Case playing the same tent on Sunday.
yeah id say Amorphous Androgynus would be outstanding at bonnaroo if you don't know what i am talking about go to futuresoundoflondon.com. also String cheese incident, neutral milk hotel, Handsome BoyModeling school, , Widespread panic, the perfect circle, toubab krewe AGAIN!, gnarles barkley might be good, james brown would make it a definate for me

Buena Vista Social Club/Afro-Cuban All Stars would kick ass, but I don't think they tour... plus, you know, so many of their members have passed on by now.

personally I would like to see some modern pscyhedelic bands play. With the except tion of Dungen which is a little different then the pscyh bands I would like to see its not a section of music Bonnaroo has given a shot at the fest.
Im talking about a stage with the Black Angels, the Warlocks, Brian Jonestown Massacre and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Kinda like the hip hop stage last year but this year a psych / space / stoner rock stage. These bands have all played with each other at some point, a collaboration between several of the members of this band would be intense. I've seen Anton from BJM team up with Black Angels and just make some stuff of for 10 mins, its a site, and BJM turning a song into a 45 min jam, awesome. This stuff would blow peoples minds.
Its a combo of the free form jam scene and the rock scene that bonnaroo has mixed very well.
I'd like to see CSNY as a headliner, that would be cool
No thank you on the Tool or Incubus headliners. Yeah they have a trippy stage show but I just wouldnt dig the vibe of their music while at Roo.
Well, for me I have really enjoyed some of Waters solo work (Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, Radio Chaos) I am not as familiar with Gilmours solo output. I think they would do fine.
Well the reunion alone would make the festival, but if that weren't there, would you want two nights of those two headlining without the PF catalog? It's still a pretty unique idea. If you were to pick either of the two, which would it be? I don't know what their solo records sound like, but I see the merits of either one. Waters is the writer of so many wonderful songs, but Gilmour's voice sounded better at Live8 and played his parts beautifully. I guess it's really a win-win situation between the two.
As to other band suggestions, the Black Keys would be cool, Muse, Speakeasy, Neil Young, and even though I don't know much about it, Zappa plays Zappa sounds exciting.
Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians I listen to a lot of early 90's shows and they are great!
Rocco Delucca and the Burden, unbelievable Dobro player and they are going to be huge some day.
Drive by Truckers Robert Randolph (Family Band or the Word) Jimmy Page & the Black Crowes, one listen to the cd live at the Greek and you will believe. Paul Simon or Brian Wilson would be a treat. New Monsoon I will guarantee SCI will have at least a late afternoon main stage or headline late night Saturday as a farewell gig to the Roo!
For bonnaroo I'd say that Gilmour would do better as a headliner that Waters. Though I'd almost rather see Waters. It's a really fickle pick between the two. Though Gilmour is an amazing psych-rock artist, and pretty much defines the Pink Floyd sound, Waters is an amazing artist and is the genius behind the amazing live shows that they've put on. Either way, both sell out almost every show they play, and I personally believe either would be great at the roo. But reunited... well a kid can dream can't he.
Also, I would go to bonnaroo almost entirely for ZPZ. I wanted to go to the Atlanta show, but it's during finals week and I can't make it. To have the Zappas play in my backyard... well, a kid can dream some more.
And one last note, I still see a CCR reunion, but in the Oysterhead slot from last year. They're big, but not big enough to headline. I'd imagine that Gnarls Barkley will be there, but if not I'd say that Dangermouse will dominate one hip-hop slot, and make appearances in all of the others. U2 will not be at bonnaroo, simply because I hate U2. They're too political, and they did a song with Green Day. I hate them, always and forever. I don't care how amazing their live shows are. I'll keep my radiohead, thanks. Sufjan will be there, I'm almost positive. Simple songs for simple folks, maybe, but still an amazing indie artist on the rise. Also, I think it's about time for some Pfunk to host a late night spot. Superfly, if you even glance at these boards, make my christmas wish and bring in some George. I think the beastie boys would do well there, as well. They may be very commercial, but I'd much rather go to a beasite boys set than a cypress hill show. Grace Potter will be back, I'm sure, as well as MMJ, but I don't forsee another jacket late-night show. I could be wrong though.

Headliners? The Stooges, The Pixies, or David Bowie. End story. XD
Also, Lou Reed Of Montreal Modest Mouse The Decemberists Girl Talk I'm From Barcelona Joanna Newsom Wolf Parade or Sunset Rubdown Destroyer Yo La Tengo Grizzly Bear The Thermals Band of Horses MF Doom And, fuck it, give us a Phish reunion too, for Hippie's sake. Just kidding.
Since they're winding down too, do you think Nickel Creek will make another appearance in 07? I know they've played several times now, but last year they were up against some of the hardest competition all weekend.

I'd like Rose Hill Drive to play again. Citizen Cope has a new cd out. The Black Keys and Queens of the Stoneage would make me really happy. IF Queens brought out Billy Gibbons for Burn the WItch it would be amazing. Whick make me ask would you want ZZ Top there cause I would. I also went to a Bob Seger with my mom a few weeks ago and had a really good time lol. I wouldnt hate on him being there either.

Maybe..I say 50/50. They have only played the festival 2 times, which is alot less compared to others.
I hope so. Seeing them at ACL was among the highlights for the whole weekend. They were dead even with Muse as the best performance at the festival all weekend, and were just behind the SCI aftershow at Stubbs. My doubt for them playing would be that they don't really have new material. They were backing Why Should the Fire Die? last year, and don't have any new material since.
isaac, did you see Massive Attack at ACL? I would really like to see them at Bonnaroo, maybe in the late night spot Trey had during 2005. I had no idea they were so good and wasn't really aware of their music until ACL.
No I didn't, electronic and I don't always get along, and there was SCI aftershow at Stubbs where the doors opened at 9, so after SCI and Explosions in the Sky (another band that should play Roo07) we took off, listening to Willie on our way out.
Oh, about Sufjan. He apparently doesn't play outdoor venues, (with the only exception being Sasquatch) likely because he thinks the intricate nature of his music would be lost in the open air chaos. This was his reasoning for not playing Lollapalooza or ACL (both tried to book him.)
It's an understandable concern, but with the success of Radiohead at Bonnaroo and other similarly detailed performers, I wouldn't completely rule him out.
isaac, i was at the stubb's aftershow . . . what did you think of it? Personally, I was really disappointed. Their jams were completely predictable, especially the Is What It Is and Rivertrance. Outside Inside was the highlight for me. I didn't get to see SCI during the festival b/c I was at South Austin Jug Band so their festival set may have been good. Anyway, the Stubb's show really bummed me out -- maybe an objective listen again would serve me well. The best Cheese show I have ever seen was at Stubb's in 2002 but four years later . . . well, it just came as no surprise to hear Nershi's announcement a few weeks after ACL.
The best aftershow was the Duo at Stubb's Indoor . . . played nearly all of Play, Pause, & Stop and the majority of Best Reason to Buy the Sun for about two hours straight.
For me it was my favorite moment of the whole weekend. Just goes to show what different shows do for different folks. I'm still young, so I don't really have money or the chance to travel (Cheese never comes near me) so that was only my second time seeing them, with the first being earlier in the day at ACL. I was only about 20 feet back and thought that the jams were good, and when they played Magic Carpet Ride it was great. Way Back Home sandwiching the whole set was also really cool for me. The best moment was the Devil Went Down to Georgia riff. That had the whole place jumping.
When I was in line to talk to SCI at the festival I met a guy who said the Duo show indoor was amazing. He also said that there might have been 100 people there, that the crowd was just tiny. At the festival they were about the closest I got, right on the rail, and it was a very enjoyable show. A whole lot of noise for just two guys. Unfortunately I wouldn't have been allowed to watch the Stubbs indoor show, age limits.
I wouldn't be that surprised to see G.R.A.B back at the Bonnaroo, only in a headlining or near-headlining position. The Duo carry a lot of musical talent and I'd be interested to see them in collaborations with other artists.
isaac, if you want to hear the Duo with some other artists check out the band "Bustle In Your Hedgerow" It's Marco and Joe from the Duo with Scott Metzger of Rana and Dave Dreiwitz of Ween. They do pretty much all Zeppelin covers but it's really good. Unfortunately I can't point you to any recordings as of right now. I would just try searching if your interested.
Two bands that I think that would be a good for for roo next year would be the French Kicks and Spank Rock. I saw these two bands open up shows and I was really impressed with both.
Thanks umphreak. I've heard that the Duo like to do Zeppelin covers a lot, but all I've got is a recording of Benevento playing the Heartbreaker solo on organ. When I saw them at ACL they played mostly Play Pause Stop material without any noticeable covers. I did yell out "heartbreaker!" a couple times though.
i really like the bustle in you hedgerow show i listened to. i think it was lollapalooza. but i sometimes find my self wishing they would find someone that could handle the singing duties. although it is excellent without also. how about a brain damaged eggmen/bustle in your hedgerow latenight. id be down for that.
