Bustle/Eggmen latenight would be awesome. Brendan from Umphrey's has sat in with Bustle before so he could just stay on stage all night. Also he could handle the vocal duties.

I don't know if I've said it before or anyone else but the Derek Trucks Band really needs to be there. Not just are they an amazing musical outfit, but if they can get Trucks there, then hopefully they can get the Allman Brothers and, fingers way crossed, Clapton. Mmmm
I think this year's festival will be very American. I talked about Glastonbury before, and pushing on I believe the 2007 Roo will feature a lot of American acts due to Glastonbury's huge British draw. Looking at 10LKF lots of traditional American jam acts, probably due to it being not even a month after Glasto.
He served as kind of a balladeer on an early episode of Scrubs and it was pretty cool. His "Man @ Work" disc is pretty cool and has some different versions of some of the Men At Work songs. I like his more mellow, stripped-down stuff instead of his more upbeat, poppy stuff.

whoever said something quicksilver messenger service and country joe right on. ive seen country joe over 15 times he is amazing, hilarious and has such a great musical talent. I also saw a quicksilver messenger service member David Freiberg perform some quicksilver hits such as "Pride Of Man" and "Fresh Air" amazing. I say bring in some Charlie Daniels Band and Marshall Tucker Band and definitley some Allman Brothers
I'd rather not see a set of them performing mostly the new album. After listening to is for a couple months, It's pretty bland. There are a few gems on it though.
^^^ I think the new album is quite good. The good songs are some of their best. It gets kinda slow at the end, but that's my only complaint. Alot of people say that it's too dark and depressing. I think that people have maybe expected too much from them after the blazing success of Chutes. All I was looking for was some more quality music from them and that's what they delevered IMO.
I've seen them twice and they can really put on a good show if they want to. I think they'd be awesome at Roo and I really hope they're there.
This is probably the worst suggestion I've ever made, but I wouldn't mind seeing reel big fish. I'm not really into ska, but I do like my share of brassy, beachy, feel good music.
To begin with, if anyone who has seen George Clinton and P-Funk in recent years knows that their shows are now junk. It's unfortunate too.
They need to book:
Gorillaz (late night Saturday on second stage) Weird Al Yankovic Edan Tenacious D Outkast Mos Def & Talib Kweli Thievery Corporation Groove Armada TV On The Radio The Shins Gogol Bordello Bebel Gilberto DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist Derek Trucks Band A Tribe Called Quest Jay-Z with a full orchestra Stevie Wonder Air Alana Davis Massive Attack Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk Anders Osborne more jazz more djs/electronic artists
Well the early-bird thing COULD mean a couple things. As unlikely as it sounds, it is possible they are having troubles getting a good lineup together, so they're getting tickets sold early so they don't end up undersold. It doesn't sound like Bonnaroo or anything, but in the world of big business you can't rule out the Men in suits.
On a more positive note, maybe they got someone really big so they were trying to reduce some of the crunch when the lineup is announced by giving the die-heards a chance to get the tickets.
With that second idea, I'll have sweet dreams of Clapton or CCR or PF or Phish or something to blow my mind. It really is gonna be a long time till January 1st.
if the weak lineup sales was what they were doing they would have made many more available. its just way to create some buzz and steal some of the thunder from 10klf announcing its lineup and from langerado.

ok here is what we NEED:
3 headliners- my morning jacket- lets see what happens when they have the big crowd, i think big blast
neil young- please bring him back before he can't rock anymore
u2- this will blow some heads
2 late niters- outkast - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
jack white- i do not care if it is the white stripes, the raconteurs, or him by himself..... but let me see him tear it up
others to round out the greatness- flaming lips, ween, wilco, mike gordon w/ anyone
PLEASE AVOID INVITING THE FOLLOWING- WIDESPREAD PANIC, DAVE MATTHEWS, and TREY (only send him with his 3 friends, not solo, not with dave and not with clay aiken)
you should check out coachella. they are much more likely to have u2 or outkast and likely will not have dave trey or wsp. i think your shopping at the wrong store.
Really think Harper could? I just don't think he's big enough. He can headline other smaller festivals, but I don't think he's big enough on a whole to headline. That being said, his music is wonderful and seeing him on the lineup would put a big smile on my face. With his draw not being headlining big but still large, he would make for a great pre-headliner act, like Elvis Costello or Beck Saturday 2006.
And MMJ, especially with the fact that they are given more love at Bonnaroo than anywhere else, could hopefully play a pre-headlining spot. They've definitely earned it with their continual presence and continually mind-bending shows. A repeat of their opening for Pearl Jam earlier this year would be perfect.

Which he did - in 2003. I think he's grown in notoriety since then, but in the end I'll have to agree with you.
If you look at some of the acts that have played Bonnaroo and not headlined (Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Black Crowes, Allman Bros, James Brown), that's quite the measuring stick. In other words, you have to be drawing bigger crowds than those guys to headline - Harper's not quite there yet.
