Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Live EP without shelling out 100 bucks for it? I'd buy you a beer at the Roo. I can't seem to find even a crappy quality of it anywhere. I'm also have a really hard time finding the Omar Rodriguez album, from the quintet, I hear that is some great stuff as well. Anyone that can help a brotha out would get some major props.

OK, so if you wanna download it.... yeah do a torrent thing.
If you wanna buy them, the best place to go handsdown is amazon. Usually the "Used and new starting from:" price is still a really good quality. Example, I bought a copy of Tear Garden's "Tired Eyes Slowly Burning," which is now a pretty damned hard to find album, on there for $5, and the only thing I can say negative about it is that the plastic case was cracked... and you can f'n switch that out... now it's running for $25 or higher. So I'd say if you see something for a decent price on there (like the Mars Volta "Live EP," who's lowest price is $70 now) I'd say snatch it up, you never know what's gonna happen when reprints come in, usually it makes the original even more valuable (not in all cases though).
Update on the "Live EP" situation: I went to the record shop with the most extensive used collection (Manifest) in town this morning, and asked for a selling price on the EP. They said they'd give no more than $25 on it. So I said "no thanks". Low and behold, they actually HAVE IT in the clearance rack... used, slightley worn for $8. So I snatched it.
So what I'm saying is, if you look the right places, good deals just pop up, and if you cannot find it anywhere, buy it online.
To Zilla: I mostly listen to my MP3s because I have allot of rare cds, but the cd quality isn't that much different, except it's a little bit more "airy" than the mp3 y'know? I'm never gonna listen to the cd again though.
To Oatmeal: I don't think that they released the "Live Ep" on vinyl, but I may be wrong... the only copy I can find for sale on the net is the CD.

haha, yeah theres not much difference in quality form mp3 to cd. but when i'm drivin and i got the stereo cranked up nothing sounds better than a cd. i totally understand nto listenign to rare cd's in order to preserve them. i have a few rare cd's too. i ahve little steven-revolution and miracle legion- portrait of a dmaged family. i prlly have mroe if i look
Yeah, speakin of rare stuff, anyone else have the original cd copy of Body Count's self-titled album, the one with "Cop Killa?" I remember that stuff used to be so hard to find...

Thanks, but I am a member and I was kinda hoping that no one said oink, haha cause my ratio is not very good, and I don't want to download anything else at the moment because I don't have time to up my cd's at the moment(it takes a while). So yea, thats my predicament at the moment.
I have it in mp3 version. I'm not sure if you're talking about a hard copy of it, but I can help you out with the mp3's if you'd like. Just shoot me a PM. They're the same ones from OiNK, but I could host 'em briefly if you wanted.

nola, I've noticed that (i invited you). what you want to do is download 1 or 2 really popular albums like NIN year Zero or the new modest mouse or something, anything with a lot of snatches, and leave your windows open for a long long time. do not close your bit torrent app until you get your ratio up. the albums you are seeding now aren't gonna get alot of hits and it'll take forever for you to up 4 gigs with those 3.

I don't know if i've ever gotten around to mentioning this, but I rather enjoy The Mars Volta. I also have a great idea that I believe we all can benefit from. I think that it would be a wonderful idea if Bonnaroo's promoters where to add this fine band to the current line-up. Isn't that a splendid idea? ;D

So I'm at a show of theirs (starts off really well!) and I'm watching the show. All the sudden they break into Rapid Fire Tollbooth (now I'm surprised that I noticed this in my dream, that's a song I've only heard a handful of times) and when it gets to the chorus, instead of singing the actual words, Cedric just starts yelling, "MEH MEH MEH MEH MEHMEH MEH." like in a "nya nya nana booboo" type voice. Then he storms off the stage... My dreams never mean anything, just random happenings.

I almost forgot. This is actually the reason why I came to post today.
I posted earlier, but with no link. So here it is for those who haven't heard it yet. 2 new Omar tracks over at the GSL myspace page entitled "If Gravity Lulls" and "Boiling Death Request". www.myspace.com/goldstandardlaboratories
we'll also be getting a studio version of Rapid Fire Tollbooth on Omars new project due this summer. There is a release date, but I can't remember it. I want to say next month, but don't hold me to that.

Definite karma for that, inutero.
Right back at ya.
I finally decided what I'm going to do (mainly) with karma points here. Simply, putting them towards people who I know to be nice who have negative karma.
Ohh yeah, and I also believe I'm also going to take Sting hostage until TMV gets added.
